Good food! Ambience could be more “cozy,” but it was otherwise super clean and inviting. Service was very friendly but seemed a little inexperienced. Would definitely recommend though! Food was yummy and vibe was positive
This was a great spot for a meetup at the end of a term with my fellow PhD students. We are a small group of 3, and the food and drink were delicious. Our first time here, and we will return!
Went for Thanksgiving- the traditional part of the Thanksgiving meal was great. And the additional sauerkraut and sausage and pork loin were wonderful! Drinks were tasty. The gluwein was almost as good as mine. Our server was energetic and thoughtful to the 99 year old elder member of our group. We’ve never had a bad meal at Bargarten. We will be back more often!
Delicious food and attentive servers. We enjoyed our dining experience and will return.
Food is always good. Service is spotty.
Fantastic! We loved the music, lighting, service was super friendly.
Service was excellent. Thank you!
Great service. Very personable server and attentive management. Food was excellent, as always.
Above average comfort food. Service a little slow. Good place to have a beer and watch a game. Low key!
It was impressive that our booth was available for us the minute we arrived. Really appreciate Reservations on a Friday night. Two people in our party were diabetics and needed to eat on a reliable schedule. Servers and restaurant do not know this fact yet were prompt and cheerful on a busy night. We will be back.
Hannah was a dream! She is a star and made our experience so lovely and personalized. Thank you, Hannah! In other news, *please* order more glass boots for the beer. It is a tradition for my girlfriend and I to meet every month or so for a beer and dinner, and this was the 2nd time that there weren’t enough boots. Sure, the glass Stein is fine - but we come for the ambiance of having a “pair of boots” with our dinner. It would really make the experience for us. Thank you. PS Hannah!! ⭐️
It's a normal pub setting and very friendly, on my first time I was looking forward to the fondue, with which I was rather disappointed. It was way too thin and rather bland. My friend ordered the schnitzel strips and fries, and they were overly salty and also rather thin and bland. My cosmo was very good, but I won't be ordering any more fondue from them for sure.
Very good experience and environment
I usually enjoy Bargarten and though the food was good, the service and noise level was pretty appalling this time. The bartender gave me tonic instead of soda and then blatantly denied it after I brought it up to the waitress even though the second drink I ordered tasted completely different. Since I am very careful about limiting my sugar intake this was pretty upsetting to me, especially since they opted to do nothing about it but swear it was soda both times when it absolutely was not.
There was also a large and incredibly obnoxious group that took every opportunity to shout "PARTY" drunkenly at each other every five minutes or so (on top of being just loud in general), which set off every poor baby in the building and made it impossible to hold a conversation. I am all for having a good time, but it was before 6 on a bloody Wednesday in a family-friendly restaurant and other diners were clearly annoyed. There is no reason staff couldn't ask them politely to cut it out after the 15th time.
I gave a slightly higher rating than I might have if Wednesday was my only experience with this restaurant, but come on, Bargarten. You can do better!
Staff very slow. Restaurant is designed poorly making everyone feel packed in. Food was same quality as Gustav’s main restaurant.
Great German restaurant had to come during Oktoberfest. Food was delicious large portions. Will have to go back for sure.
Probably within the Top 3 German style Eating establishments in the Metro area that I've been in & I like the food ! Great beer , Potato Pancakes, & Lentil Soup as I've had ANYWHERE including LeavenWorth WA.
Will go back, was a week night, bartender seemed to spend more time talking than poring beer, tool a VERY long time to get a beer, and was not the waitress, who was very nice.
The Jägerschnitzel was really good. Very disappointed that they don’t carry any fruit Brandy’s either from Germany or Hood River.
This place never disappoints. Delicious food, great drinks and always very good service.
A good bar/restuarant scene - post modern style. We went there when it is not too busy so it is difficult to assess what it is like when it is busy (a true test to how they handle the flow). Food was enjoyable and presented well. Beer - good pour. Location - can be a busy spot since it shares with Best Buy, Winco, and others - but in theory, it is good for the restuarant to keep business flowing.
Great service-server knew details about food and beer. Got to watch PGA tourney!
Incredible! Husband is a picky eater and he ate his own, potato pancakes, then some of mine, fondue with two sausages. Service was excellent. . We plan to go back.
This continues success of the Gustav's chain is really good. The fondue is to die for, the schnitzel is wonderful. It comes with two sauces, Madeira and paprika, both excellent. The sausages are authentic too. Give it a try.
This isn't authentic German food. It is a fusion of German and I don't eve know what else.
Great food and very helpful staff
Two of us went there with Open Table reservation (didn’t need reservation BTW) and the table was ready. Service was good, eggs benedict was excellent as was a burger. Special requests were followed through on. Beer was good too though first choice was not available.
Wish they had used all the TV screens for different game, some old NCAA playoff was on all channels....in July.
Visiting with our kids in Beaverton. Really enjoyed the lunch at Bargarten.
We went here later to replace Gustav's that had already closed. Food was good and wait staff was helpful and nice. Happy Hour after 9 was a great option. It was all worth going again, but nothing magical.
It was wonderful.
Food was awesome and uniquely German. Service was refreshingly friendly. We wish the restaurant itself were tucked away in a more quiet neighborhood...it is a bit of an oasis in a giant parking lot...but you never escape the view of, ultimately a parking lot. That's a bummer, because the food and beer were awesome and we'd really like to go back.
Food was great, but the service was slow. We had to go ask if we had a server after waiting a long time after being seated. The waitress did not check back with us very often. I would go back and try it again though for the atmosphere and food.
We waited for over an hour after we ordered to get our food & the food was just okay. Nothing super memorable. Sausage was too salty & the spatzel’s meat to breading ratio was off. We had kids too & they sat nicely for an hour but they were getting antsy. The table next to us who got seated about the same time left because their food was taking too long. They need to get a system down to get food out faster.
My husband wanted to eat here for Father's Day brunch. We had been here for a Saturday brunch before and it wasn't too crowded, but we figured that wouldn't be the case on Father's Day at 11am. It was about half-full when we arrived, and nearly full when we left. Since it took awhile to get our food last time, we ordered the BarGarten Board as an "appetizer" - wow - lots of great food on the board - bread, 2 kinds of sausage, mustards, butter, radishes, pickles, cheese wedge, prosciutto, warm german potato salad, and a green salad. We took about half of that home. For our entrees, we each ordered the chicken-fried schniztel, which is served with mashed potatoes and an awesome sausage gravy. So good you wanted to lick the plate clean! We'll definitely be back to try more of the brunch menu (only available on the weekends) and the regular menu.
After having another restaurant cancel our Father's Day reservation twice with no information I was desperate for some place to go. We're a family of 7 so finding seating for that many is tough. I've driven past this place a few times so decided to give it a try. Well worth it! Server was polite and attentive, food was delicious, drinks were kept filled. And it was priced very reasonably. Our budget was $200 and we came in way under that.
We had a nice table outside and good food!
Great server, Justen!
Rib Eye prepared correctly
And the wings are the best I have had!
Food was terrible. Drinks were overpriced and watered down.
We sat outside so can't really judge the noise level but everything was very good. Waiter was efficient and food was good, with a nice selection of beer. Didn't know until we got there that there is no Happy Hour on Saturdays as I don't remember seeing that on the website. Will definitely go again.
