   A very poor experience was had by my guests and I. We were in Stratford for an afternoon show and went to Bard's for lunch before. The waiter indicated that they had tomato soup and what was presented did not look anything like tomato. He insisted it was so we left it, it was thick and more like polenta than a soup. My other guest ordered French Onion soup, it was cold, had no cheese and again when asked waiter said it was French onion but just onion soup. In any event, he took the two tomato soups off the bill and then told us it was carrot and parsnip. Honestly it was just a horrible experience and I would never go back again.

   Didn’t even get in to eat as it was closed on Wednesday. So I can’t understand why our reservation was accepted when they were clearly not open for dinner. Left to quickly find another restaurant for dinner before the 8pm show.!

   I made reservations on line, for Tuesday October 16th for 4 people. Bards confirmed. Only to find out when we’re arrived, that they were closed. The Hub which was located upstairs and next door to Bards said they had changed back to their Fall/Winter hours. So, we then ate at the Hub, which was quite nice. And it would have been decent if Bards had informed me. Also We chose Bards, because they had a full back page add in the Brochure for the Stratford Festival.

   Limited menu. The food was disappointing. It really wasn't very good and really nothing special.

   Had made reservations and when we arrived were told they had a group of 45 upstairs and it would be at least a 45 minute wait for a meal. We have wanted to go there since being redone and stayed. Waiter was pleasant and the meals arrived in closer to 20 minutes. Good portions and cooked right! We will return. My step daughter had mentioned it was a birthday and nothing was mentioned by the staff. Only comment.

   The restaurant wasn't even open today so we did not have our reservation completed. This restaurant needs to do a better job communicating with Open Table the hours they are accepting reservations - or stop using the service. Unacceptable since the reservation was made over a week ago.

   Great food and very friendly staff. We ate at a high top table in the bar area and could still hear the live music. A good find for us for future dining.

    Very impressed with the ambience and quality. A great location. Our first visit and plan to return soon with friends.
