Located in Oakland’s historic Grand Lake District, Bardo is a neighborhood lounge and restaurant inspired by the comfort and camaraderie of a mid-century dinner party. Drawing on the celebration and elegance of old school entertaining, we envisioned a space for friends and neighbors to enjoy amazing food, cocktails, conversation and great music.

Our lounge is a swank living room, furnished with hand-picked finds from antique and vintage markets from Palm Springs to Portland. Our mezzanine dining room features a rotating menu of fresh, seasonal supper-fare with local and sustainably sourced meats, fish and produce. While we think the food, drinks and atmosphere are all great reasons to visit us, it’s the relationships with our friends, neighbors and guests that is the driving force behind Bardo.

We really enjoyed this mid-century lounge. Drinks are innovated, great Cocktails and Mocktails, incredible food, the chicken liver mousse was to die for and we loved the desserts. Fantastic decor, you time travel in the 60s, a lot of details, great ambiance, music and service!

Celebrating a 60th anniversary, they forgot to put two tickets in so we were served a half hour apart, they offered a free appetizer but by the time we waited for everybody to have their dinner , half was cold.

Great dinner and drinks. My wife and I sat at bar-seats (two in the corner) and EVERYTHING was great. The Watermelon Gazpacho, shrimp and grits and pork chop…all done perfectly! BTW, the cocktails are GREAT! We will be back!

I would go back. However it was annoying when I arrived (and I arrived on time) they overbooked and I spent about 20 minutes waiting for a table to open up. And the dessert took extremely long to get out. But other than that everything else was good. I would definitely go back

Place is beautiful and unique. My wife and I will be back again and again. Food was delicious. Maybe not perfect but outstanding all the same. What a pork chop! Love the drinks. Creative crafty and not too sweet. Love this place.

Crowded, yet intimate, this mid-century modern themed gem is expensive - and worth every penny. The Deviled eggs are spectacular - who'd have thought? The chicken liver mousse might be the best in the west: do follow with an Oakland Caesar. ANYTHING on the entree side is delicious.

I’m an amateur foodie and chose Bardo based on their recent Michelin write up. We had the most delicious cocktails & dinner, we splurged and had the chef’s recommendations. What a treat! The flavors were original and unique, the portions were just right, and our mixologist & servers were friendly, helpful, outstanding.

Everything was befitting of their Michelin rating. What stood out for me, however, was the mole-rubbed pork chop. It was the best I have ever had, anywhere. I hope it stays on the menu!

Had a great time, loved our food and cocktails. Will return. Entrees (3) each came out 10 minutes apart, so we didn't really eat together. We were ok with it, but felt that they should have comped the dessert in acknowledgement of that shortcoming, especially at this price point.

The decor at BARDO is spot on - we really loved the vibe. We ordered the Dinner Party for 4 which was perfect. Appetizers were delicious and our server times the delivery of food really well. Definitely order dessert! We'll be back.

I loved the ambiance including the lighting, interior design etc. the hostess was welcoming, the waiter was attentive to the point of being almost bothersome. The food was overall disappointing. We enjoyed the pasta and crispy fries however the watermelon gazpacho soup and the dressing on the Caesar salad were disappointing. The chocolate tart was delicious.

Great food, great service, very cool spot with nice decor and ambiance. Premium cocktails are pricey but worth it, lots of house-made ingredients and quality liquor selection. I appreciate that they offer varying levels of drinks, too- there are more affordable options as well as low ABV drinks along with mocktails for your sober friends and family. Earned me major points at date night, and we both said it would be a cool place to go back to with friends. Thanks y’all!

We arrived early for our 5:30 pm reservation on a Friday evening. Our table was ready so we were seated immediately. Bardo has a retro feel, beautifully decorated and welcoming. Our server, Chantal, was amazing and highly recommended the Dinner Experience for $75 pp. She asked if we had any dietary restrictions, which we did not, but if you do then this experience option may not be for you. She also asked if there was anything on the menu we wanted to skip. We love that!! It’s a great amount of food and served family style. Definitely worth the value, especially for our party of 5. We started with cocktails — their menu is perfect combination of Classic, Refreshing, Nouveau, and NA. The Fernidad, their Milk Punch, was delicious and easy to sip! Throughout our 2-hour meal, we enjoyed nearly everything on the menu. Our faves were the Liver Mousse, Deviled Eggs, Flatbread, Ricotta Ravioli, and Persimmon Meringue. We also brought 2 bottles of wine because their corkage is reasonable priced at $25 pb. The only down side was the restaurant has only 1 decanter; not a deal breaker since their vibe is really cocktail-based. The wine list is limited but BTG options are good for the dishes. We were happy to hear the Summer Menu will be released soon so we will certainly be back soon!! Bravo Bardo!

Another wonderful night at Bardo. Love the ambiance of this unique bar and restaurant . Dinner was delicious all four of us had different entrees and enjoyed them very much! Bardo is hip and fun but it also has the feeling of a more classic restaurant - smart wait staff , REAL printed MENUS (not darn QR codes you have to use the phone for), inventive cocktails, some creative and unusual dishes but always the standby great burger and fries. The light and noise level are just right ... easy to have conversation and a relaxed pace of dinner. There is a nice retro vibe. Its a favorite!

A hip mid century modern I am cocktail supper club with an incredible staff! Great bar seating or they have a private living room bar seating area, couch seating with coffee tables or just standard regular tables very fun! Incredible mixologist.

I love Bardo Supper Club. The ambiance of the restaurant is wonderful. It is intimate but open to natural light. It has a wonderfully elegant and approachable feel. The staff is fantastic. You are greeted upon entering. The wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The food is the star of the show (as it should be). The menu is exactly what you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. The plating is outstanding and practically picturesque. And the food is delicious. This place is a homerun. I highly recommend it.
