Recommended in the MICHELIN Guide for California 2021-2025. Located in Oakland’s historic Grand Lake District, Bardo is a neighborhood lounge and restaurant inspired by the comfort and camaraderie of a mid-century dinner party. Drawing on the celebration and elegance of old school entertaining, we envisioned a space for friends and neighbors to enjoy amazing food, cocktails, conversation and great music.

Our lounge is a swank living room, furnished with hand-picked finds from antique and vintage markets from Palm Springs to Portland. Our mezzanine dining room features a rotating menu of fresh, seasonal supper-fare with local and sustainably sourced meats, fish and produce. While we think the food, drinks and atmosphere are all great reasons to visit us, it’s the relationships with our friends, neighbors and guests that is the driving force behind Bardo.

Dining with friends? You can't go wrong with our family style Dinner Party Menu. We include an array of house selected apps, mains and desserts from our current seasonal menu. A group of six of us did the Dinner Party menu and it was phenomenal. The drink menu was also a huge plus as every drink we had was great!

It was our first time at Bardo’s and we will return! Petals Sole, Chicken and Grits, Chef’s Kiss cocktail all were outstanding!

Bardo keeps getting better and better. The drinks are sublime, the food delicious, the service impeccable. We had a bunch of wonderful appetizers, and a main course shared between the 3 of us and it could not have been more delicious. The warm apple cake with ice cream topped off a divine dinner and time. I love the decor of Bardo and the vibe was happening and alive last night. Thanks for a lovely time in the neighborhood!

Celebrating my friends birthday, we were treated so well! And the waitress was so accommodating, friendly, and kind. The food as always was impeccable, we shared a burger, the pickle plate and deviled eggs. Those beef cheeks deviled eggs are incredible! They even gave us a complimentary herbal apertif after dinner, and even provided a non alcoholic herbal digestif for my friend who doesn’t drink. What a gem of a place, truly one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area!
