Noisy, but otherwise great.
Food was amazing! Service was even better! Christina was so amazing, I can’t wait to visit again! This was my first time dining at Bardea, and I most definitely recommend. All of the staff were amazing and willing to help. Christina gave the best suggestions on food and drinks.
We enjoyed the ambiance and food very much. Work on that homemade limoncello- there is an aftertaste that should not be there. Interesting interpretations of Italian pastas. The small plates were great - oysters slightly overpriced. Please bring a crepe brûlée or panacotta dessert. Have everyone Practice making espressos with the right amount.
However, overall, I would say it is the best restaurant currently in Wilmington that sets a very high bar that other establishments should follow. We will come back to try bursts plate and ravioli that were OOS.
Enjoyed our meal and everything was great.
Welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine for our date night. Tapas style ordering and expert wine pairing with each. Gorgeous evening for a special occasion.
Unique, small plates, creative dishes, wonderful atmosphere.
Amazing service by waiter George and all front of house staff. We selected 6 small plates/vegetables/pasta to share between the two of us. George expertly decided the order in which the meals should be enjoyed and spaced them out accordingly. My husband and I loved our meals. We also enjoyed two desserts. It was our first time at Bardea, but not our last.
I proposed to my girlfriend at the brandywine park about 30 min before coming to this restaurant. It was our first time and despite being so excited from the engagement the restaurant was absolutely fantastic. The food, service, cocktails and wine just really made for such an incredible evening. We will absolutely be back!!
One of the best restaurants in Wilmington. Creative and inspired food with unique twists. Reminds me of being in a hopping restaurant in NYC. Servers are very attentive. Loved all of the dishes we ordered.
It was wonderful! My girlfriend had me try something new the Bronzino, it was stellar. Way to set a wonderful evening. Thank you!
Hands down, the best restaurant in Wilmington. It seems to have gotten better. We started with the grilled romaine which was great. The meatballs and gnocchi were even better and the sauces for both are great. My wife had the spaghettini which comes with scallops and thought it was great. I had the bucatini which is always available even though it’s not on the menu. It was as great as usual. Our meal was topped off with exceptional and attentive service that even anticipated bringing us bread without asking so we could enjoy some of the sauces. It was an very enjoyable dinner from start to finish.
Food and service were excellent! So many wonderful flavors.
Great food. Creative menu. Wonderfully crowded on a Tuesday night in the summer.
This restaurant surpasses Any Spot you have dined at I. Wilmington hands down!! Folks we finally have a restaurant that matches the food prepared I. Philadelphia or even New York! Our server Eric was friendly knowledgeable and highlighted all of the fabulous choices in the menu. We even trusted him to pair our wine with dinner. He did not disappoint. In fact nothing about this restaurant disappoints. The restaurant is beautiful they offer complimentary valet parking and incredible desserts to top off your meal. This restaurant is twenty minutes from suburban areas like Hockessin and Pike Creek so it is close for a fabulous dining experience the likes of which you have not experienced in Delaware. For those who dined at Amada in the early years you will not want to miss the experience of dining at this incredible restaurant. We will be back!
Disappointed in that I had read really great reviews so was super excited for this restaurant and food but overall experience was just okay. Despite having a reservation it took awhile to get seated. Waitress was not friendly and not super responsive. Got our appetizer which was meatballs and it took forever for her to come back and take our food order. Food was just okay…nothing I would say was worth going back for. Could have just been an off night but I won’t be recommending this restaurant to my friends.
An awesome dining experience! All the food was incredible as the wine and cocktails. The staff were really friendly and our server was SO helpful and knowledgable. We had a wonderful evening and I will definitely be going back.
An awesome restaurant! Thanks you for the great meal, service and experience.
Bardea is always an excellent spot but dining there for our anniversary the entire staff made us feel so welcome and special...and everything we had was delicious!
Food was delicious, service was stellar. Gave a four star rating because of noise level.
First time trying Bardea. Arrived at 720 for a 730 reservation. Was seated at 840. Poor table management, okay food, fairly priced.
-Waiter was of little help and actively pushed us to leave by not waiting until we were done but by getting the check without being requested to do so.
-Menu descriptions were mostly useless.
The food was superb and the serve staff very polite and amenable to answering questions and 2. substantially reduce the noise level (my Apple watch sent out alerts warning of too many decibels).
Bardea is a true culinary adventure! The menu is inventive and the food was beautiful, creative and delicious. A truly memorable meal.
Loved this place! The first time the restaurant looked at my preferences and indulged them for me!! The food and flavors were spectacular. The only thing that might keep me from going every night is the noise level is quite high, just everyone having a great time, including us!
Management and staff are always wonderful to work with on small dinners or larger events. Always welcoming and attentive to customers needs.
Wish they would open in other locations in Delaware that are closer to Greenville, Pike Creek or North Wilmington areas now that businesses are opening up again.
All in all it was a great business dinner event.
We have tried Bardea during the pandemic for takeout and really liked the food. Once the mandates were lifted we were eager to go and try it in person. Our first time there was wonderful and the food was excellent. Our most recent trip caused us to rethink everything. It was very loud and while the service was excellent the food was only average at best. There were many young children and large parties. I am not sure when the restaurant changed from a fine dining experience to a family style loud drunken place, but I’m not sure if I will be back.
Great local place! Creative food, great service....
Food outstanding. fun well trained Waitress. Very good experience
Everything is exceptional about Bardea! It is consistently outstanding with amazing flavor melding, textures, and eye appeal within each plate. We have our favorites, but there seems to be a new twist to them within each iteration of the menu, as well as new menu offerings. All have delighted - with the updated item sometimes surpassing the prior preparation.
The fried calamari with peppers, olives, and tamarind agrodolce was so very good! The spicy honey pizza with fresh mozzarella, tomato, and pepperoni is a tasty, savory, and slightly spicy and sweet dish that is baked to perfection in the pizza oven.
We have always enjoyed the oysters, and have indulged in Nonna's meatballs and the charred octopus during past visits.
Our staff and servers have always been knowledgeable and amiable. Each time we've visited for a special occasion, we have felt as if all are celebrating with us and have always received well wishes - for both birthdays and anniversaries. Thanks so much for making it all so wonderful!
The combination and collaboration of Scott and Antimo and staff at Bardea must be experienced whether it's for a regular evening out or for a celebration - it will always be special!
Was randomly in Wilmington DE on a Weds night. This place was jamming. Really good, inventive food. Impressive wine list too. Our server was also very knowledgeable about the menu and also the wines. Clearly a well managed establishment. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Suggest a quick road trip for those in south Philly. Grab a DD so you can enjoy the cocktail menu and wine list.
Ordered the porterhouse for 175$. No filet on the thing whatsoever. Super upsetting because we waited an hour to get it. Basically got a bone in ny strip for that much money and was really looking forward to the filet portion. Our server got a large table and then we became nonexistent. Very sad because I really like comping here. They forgot something we ordered which held up our steak. Sat there for 30 minutes after they were informed of the problem. Super sad about the whole situation
The food was amazing. Definitely coming back again.
This was our 2nd time dining at Bardea. We decided this was the perfect restaurant to celebrate our anniversary dinner. I’ll keep this short, but it cannot be understated how wonderful the food, service, and overall ambience is at Bardea.
The food is world class. If located a few miles north, it would be a top restaurant in Philadelphia, and I fully believe that it will be a top restaurant for years to come in the US. Bardea is the type of dining experience you hope for, the type of flavors you travel for. Their attention to local ingredients is an attribute that is often sought after when reading a menu. It is the place you want to keep a secret so that you can still get a reservation, but then you tell to your inner circle. You know, so you can talk about how right you were in your recommendation.
The front of the house is impeccably run, the servers are knowledgeable and thorough, the chefs are passionate, imaginative, and remarkably kind.
Bardea deserves all accolades, and praise. I’m no professional critic just a very well traveled hungry person. Thank you :)
As always, Zack took good care of me and my guests and generously helped celebrate my birthday!
Food was fantastic and best service I can ever remember having in a restaurant
Ryan was a great server
We enjoyed his menu recommendations
The food was phenomenal
All the food except beet gyoza was outstanding, and the bronzino was amazing. The noise level was objectionable since it limited conversation to yelling. The cocktails were very good. Overall experience was very good but would have been better with a quieter environment.
Amazing food, great service! Bailey took amazing care of us.
