Bardea Food & Drink
A step above, every experience at Bardea has been extraordinary!
Birthday dinner for mom. Have been several times and always love it. Ricotta gnocchi are to die for. Get both toasts always. Scallops fantastic. Squid ink tagliolini is a show stopper dish. They do an amazing job with the attention to detail on every plate leaving the kitchen.
Use to live in Wilmington 6 years, came back to visit friends. Wished this place had been there 6 years ago, great place and food!
Reataurant was busy with a large event in the street outside
We were sat at the table closest to the bar where a long line of people from the event were standing in line to use the restroom
Not a very comfortable location
Time of food should be at the diners convenience not the kitchens
The food is delicious but my wife had to watch me eat for 20 minutes before her food came
Love this place but a bad experience this time
We will be back because we love the place and everyone has a bad night
Amazing. Had drinks and snacks at the bar before AND after dinner, meals was amazing bar and table service were incredible. The food deserves all the praises it has received, definitely try the pork belly, calamari, and oysters.
Amazing service and food . Highly recommend
Fantastic service and great food. We ordered the restaurant week menu and it was delicious with a lot great choices. Will be going back for another dining experience soon
Tried Bardea during restaurant week. The food was not great. Appetizers were run of the mill. Pasta dishes were small portions and lacking flavor. Dessert which is usually my favorite was so bad we ate two bites and gave up on. They have an extensive list of wines, but no flavor profile descriptions to help you decide what to get. A big let down overall.
Amazing food! Great staff. Place is really nice. Great date night. Portions small but like Italian fine dining. Noise level is very high. Hard to talk. I did go on restaurant weekend and it was packed. I would definitely go back.
Out server was awesome, very knowledgeable, and attentive. The two top tables were a bit cramped and small but we made it work. The food was of excellent quality, very creative, and well priced. There wasn’t any price gouging on wine bottles, which was most impressive. Wine list was very nice. The restaurant was very nicely designed. All around nice place. Highly recommend.
Restaurant week was an excellent value. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Menu had lots of options. Food was delicious.
Went for my girlfriends birthday and got the chefs 3 course tasting! Really delicious food and great atmosphere!
Brandywine Restaurant Week... Unfortunately the only time I can afford to eat here because it's amazing!
Our server did not tell us specials, ask us if we had questions, didn't check back much. Food was incredible.
The food is usually good when we eat here. There are still some hits and misses however. 75 dollars for a small fish for 2 people is outrageous no matter what restaurant you are in. Again, servers don't come around often enough to find out if you need another drink - same problem as before. Extremely noisy, they really need to try and do something about the noise level. Everyone in the restaurant is basically yelling to try and talk over the noise level. Most of the dishes are delicious
we love bardea - the roasted (sous vide) chicken is one of the best dishes you will find anywhere! i hestitate to tell everyone how great the food is for fear we will have a harder time getting a reservation! cocktails and wines are great, sometimes we make a whole meal out of sharing multiple small plates, the pizza is wonderful and their servings of whole fish are outstanding - honestly everything on the menu is good.
This is the second time we've been to Bardea. It was even better the second time. We ordered several small plates and our table shared shared them as well as two pizzas. Everything was great !
No matter how great the food is at any restaurant, the service makes the meal special. We had a group of 8 and were very well taken care of. We had the perfect amount of attention with great recommendations for a mixed group. The attitude of the staff was to make your meal yours and share to experience all the flavors of Bardea...and we did and had a great time doing it. The food was superb and only outdone by the overall experience because the staff was so fun and attentive. The shared small plates of lamb, wagyu barbacoa, and scallops were truly memorable. Small pizzas were perfectly cooked to get us to our main course...a whole roasted parrot fish perfectly done to melt in your mouth. The celery root pave was a great compliment. You better save room for dessert...it is no afterthought there. I cannot wait to go back.
excellent food and service. Noise level very high and unpleasant.
There is a reason they were a James Beard semifinalist. We went for our middle daughters bday. We ordered Sunflower Hummus, Artisanal Cheese, Crispy Chicken Wings, Pork Belly, Gnocchi, and Nonna's Meatballs for the table (6 of us, to include the bday girl's boyfriend). Additional plates included Bucatini, Margherita Pizza, Upside Down Pizza, and Truffle Pizza. Dessert included Cheesecake, Gelato, and Tiramisu. I cannot single out one thing. EVERYTHING was incredible, to include our server, Katie. They even take a polaroid picture (for you to have) of your group, when there is a special occasion. We will absolutely return.
This was our 3rd visit and Bardea just keeps getting better. I’ve spent 20 yrs working in the hospitality industry in NYC, SF, and Philly, Bardea would be a success in any of those cities. This is the first time I can say that about a DE restaurant.
Would have been all 5’s but the din made it difficult to converse without shouting and this was a Thursday. However, the food was so creative and good that I will go back.
We came to Bardea for a special occasion and received a signed menu with the owners’ signatures - it was a nice touch! Our scallops and cacio e Pepe were delicious and we enjoyed our specialty cocktails (especially the negroni!)
If you haven’t been, it’s probably best to understand that this is an Italian small plates concept and definitely not your traditional oversized servings!
Again they managed to no-show the reservation
The food was off the charts and our server was exceptional!
I order calamari whenever on the menu, as any restaurant. It was quite different with a smoky flavor and was quite a change and quite good.
Very loud techno music, also noise , not ambiance, from other diners. Could not hear the waitstaff who nevertheless were very attentive and disadvantaged by the decibels. Lighting was abysmal. Eight draft beers of which 5 were IPA's ....really? The world is made up of many beer styles, how limiting. Food was designed to be hot flash cooked with a char, which is a style, but some items maybe transitioned to burned. I wonder if chef tasted it would he cutback on the char? We had about 10 items. I though the Berkshire pork ribs did not pay due respect to the animal's heritage. Decor was eclectic. exposed steel building structure with, pressed tin ceiling tiles and greek columns. Is the architectural theme "chaos" ? In general the food was good, but all over the place and not in a cohesive array. I think they are trying to hard and need to refine what there vision is , but maybe I am just out of touch.
The menu was outstanding, with a wide variety of things from which to choose. Our server recommended eating family style, which was the perfect approach. The chef is clearly very talented. Their in house crafted cocktail menu was excellent as well.
Outstanding modern Italian cuisine, impeccable service.
Food was good - service was great
My dining experience at Bardea is excellent every time I go! The food is magnificent, especially the calamari. Check out Bardea for an unforgettable night.
Everything was amazing
Awesome experience. Best service and food around
Amazing dining experience! From calamari to cheesecake. Waiter was very knowledgeable and spot on with recommendations.
Fantastic food as always and great staff who are excited about the food and menu which makes the experience so much better. By far my favorite place in Wilmington hands down.
Very popular restaurant in Wilmington. Always busy. They say it’s modern Italian and that’s right. Don’t expect things to taste as you expect. I ordered spaghetti and it was covered in a sweet green sauce. Manager was great and offered to replace with something else. The eggplant parmigiana was very good. They really do need to do something about the noise. It’s so loud you cannot hear the people at your table.
Food was outstanding. Service was superb, especially considering the fact that the place was packed.
Drawn by decor, disappointed by food. Extremely overpriced. Menu required too much interpretation.
Excellent food, we were a group of 8 and ordered about 8 menu items to share and it worked out perfectly!
