Barcocina - Baltimore

Barcocina is beyond loud so having a conversation is nearly impossible. The service was poor and the food not much better. i would not recommended, plently of better places to eat in the area.
I love this place and always prefer to have brunch here. Great experience overall thanks to fabulous food, drinks, and our waiter, but I wish that the restaurant had let me know prior to the minute I got there that we could not reserve a table outside and that the outdoor tables were available on a first-come basis. I made my brunch reservation three months in advance (it was my graduation weekend and we were celebrating), making a special request that we be seated outside, and assumed when we got there that that would be fulfilled because no one from Barcocina got in touch with me to let me know about their policy. The hostesses weren’t apologetic at all and only said we could go on the walk-in waitlist to wait for an outdoor table, which we didn’t have time for, so we just took our seats inside. We had an overall great meal but I wish that the management was a bit more transparent with this policy, especially on OpenTable, considering the view is fantastic and it was a gorgeous day out.
On the water with great view. Excellent service. Food was terrific.
Excellent food and service. Location is very nice sitting on the harbor in Fells Point.
Mother’s Day Brunch
Went for cinco de mayo brunch and was sat directly infront of an open door panel. This wouldn't have been an issue if it wasnt pouring and wind wasn't blowing in. We asked to move tables and we were told by our server that "all of the other tables were reserved" but we watched three parties around us get their tables moved? Food was just okay but not worth it for the price. Our server wasn't attentive and 2 out of 6 of our parties food came out incorrectly. Someone at our table got bottomless bloody mary's but only got it refilled twice despite their glass sitting on the table empty.
Most likely won't be back.
Overall great experience! Nice place to hang out with friends by the water. I had the blackberry sangria (sweet but tasty) and the lamb tacos (dry and bland); however the fries were tasty and the guacamole!
I’ve gone to Barcocina twice now, and the first time there the food was pretty good. We had the Carne Asada and eggs, Barcocina fundido, lamb tacos (i think) and some drinks. This time around, I had huevos rancheros and quite frankly I was disappointed. There was an overwhelming amount of corn tortillas at the bottom of the eggs which is part of such dish but the amount and blandness of the tortillas along with them being a bit on the cold side didn’t go well with me. The guacamole tasted like it was store bought but also lacked salt, pepper, lime, tomato, cilantro, and onions which is what is included in guacamole if you’re calling it that. The chicken tacos were good, but the flour tortillas were cold, and a little stiff. There was no salsa to put on them. The cheese was a good side to add but definitely not the best option alone. Also, service here is lacking. Server was friendly but she did not really check on us other than to bring the our drink (which came after our food), and then came to drop off our check.
The duck confit quesadillas were absolutely incredible and the Moroccan lamb tacos were delicious would definitely recommend!
Went on one of the cringiest dates but the waiter was very patient with us and knowledgeable about the menu and gave good recommendations. Great view and tacos!
A Tuesday night dinner at 6:30. Music loud. Waitress not too attentive. Had to go find her a few times. Food good
Food was very good and not too expensive. Nice setting on the water with outdoor deck area and large doors that open up to the inside. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. The only we weren't crazy about was our drinks.. the drink menu sounded good but they didn't taste great (hoping maybe they just had a new bartender that evening). Our waiter was kind to take back one of our drinks we really couldnt drink and remove from the bill. Overall I would recommend!
We enjoyed a beautiful Easter brunch with family sitting outside in the sun. The food was yummy and everyone enjoyed the bottomless mimosas.
Very very loud. Great location rain or shine
It was a great experience but the food could definitely be a lot better for the price you're paying.
Amazing restaurants, great vibes, great location and bottomless deals!
Nice place for casual dinner with out of town guests. Food was upscale Mexican - well prepared and delicious.
I just love the food and the service here - it never disappoints, but keep in mind for anyone not familiar - IT GETS REALLY LOUD. Saturday evening is not a time to go and expect a quiet meal.
Went for Sunday brunch. The food was not very good at all compared to other restaurants that offer similar Mexican style entrees. Guacamole was OK. But Pork hash was stringy and greasy and the flank steak salad was subpar. The meat was low grade. However, the egg potato tacos were very tasty and the thing I would recommend most for brunch.
We went for a birthday brunch! The food was delicious and everyone had a great time. Just wish it had been a sunny day so we could have enjoyed better water views but we'll plan on that during our next visit! :)
The atmosphere and menu were good! The drink menu was also impressive. The habanero dip and chips were very good, however, we tried like 5 entrees (2 were omlettes) and they were all just ok. I think it would be a great place for happy hour or appetizers, but not so much for dinner.
The food was great. The services was friendly but a little slow in getting our drinks.
Great date night
Its great for younger people, the noise level was almost too loud to converse. We were at a corner table by the window whch was great for people watching. Food was very good but everything came out at once even with special request.
Food was very good as always. We came down for my daughter‘s birthday. I mentioned this in the reservation and they acknowledged this when we got there. I thought they would have bought up a little dessert for her with a candle, or something of the like. But they did not. That is the only miss of the evening.
Always good and has a great server
We went to enjoy the waterfront dining, but there were only a few tables set up outside. The service was great and our appetizers were excellent
Overall experience was GREAT!! I loved my food however one person in our party had their meal brought out wrong and then they brought her another one and it was still wrong. Other than that the overall place is great. I have been there multiple times and loved it.
Food very limited servings. Expensive for the amount of food. But food is good. My cocktail drink, i have to change the first one, the second didn't taste of too. But i didnt bother to change it again. Waitress not attentive enough. I felt like most of the time i have to look for her and waited longer. Overall, nice waterfront restaurant and food is good but expensive for the amount. Service is just okay.
This was a birthday brunch for since teenie friends who were absolutely thrilled with the choices, the view and the fabulous service. The coconut shrimp guacamole was exceptional! Highly recommend and I will return with more friends!!
The portions were generous and the food was fresh and well prepared. Restaurant was quite busy. We sat on the closed in porch which was cold, noisy and lacking in atmosphere. I think in the future I would wait for warmer weather to return when the porch is open and we could enjoy nice outside dining.
Everything was great except we had to move tables after being there for 3 hours (wish I would have known before hand)
Went for bottomless brunch, but was very disappointed to have paid $15 for unlimited watered down orange juice. My boyfriend got a mango margarita however, and that was great! Besides the drinks, the food was excellent. I would go back but I would not waste the money on bottomless mimosas.
Went for Sunday brunch. It was loud and packed but the vibe was great. Was seated by the door to the back even though we asked to be seated somewhere else. It was nice until people kept opening the door and the 30 degree wind chill came rushing in. Had to wear our coats the whole time which was uncomfortable. If we had of sat somewhere else I think we would’ve had a 5 star everything except for the food. We got the huevos rancheros and it was actually pretty bland which was disappointing but we also got the bar cocina guacamole and that was super delicious. The service was fantastic though, our waitress was super attentive and friendly.
The roasted squash in the salad was anything but roasted- it was totally raw. The cauliflower in the curry taco was also hard. Upcharging $3 to mix and match 3 tacos is ridiculous. You know they have all those taco options prepped and ready to serve. This was a disappointing dining experience.
Drunk brunch 7 days a week and a $15 prix fixe on weekdays. We had a wonderful time and would totally recommend.
Our meal was excellent and everyone shared and left completely full and then some! The duck quesadilla earned bragging rights and the hamburger tacos were the best ground beef tacos we all had ever eaten. Oh and did I mention the cheese dip so yummy we almost got a 2nd bowl! Will definitely return when in Baltimore. It was very busy and loud, but still a good time and a great meal.
Chef Jason food was bright and refreshing.
Our server was very hospitable and friendly.
Great place for drinks and bites.
Sheree was a wonderful server and we enjoyed all of our food!
Be wary of sitting by the window as it gets extremely hot with direct sunlight.
