Very mediocre. Steak was over done. The beet salad was good.
We go to Barclays often and are usually very please. However, today was awful. We were there an hour and a half and didn’t even get to dessert. We waited for our main meal for 1/2 an hour and had no one even check on us. When we finally got our meal, there was almost no food on the plate and my husband’s fish and chips were dark brown and way over cooked. The place was busier than usual and they should hav emplaned for it. We will continue to go, but never again on Valentines Day. What a disappointment.
Food was good! I had the prime rib. My wife had the half rack of ribs. Prices were reasonable. Place was loud so bear that in mind. I’d be willing to come back though.
We went on Valentine’s Day, so the restaurant was packed. Food was good and service was just a little slow. Overall it was a great place for dinner
food was excelent service was good bus were on the job.
This a place that my wife and I picked for her Birthday and we were pleasantly surprised. Their menu was outstanding as well as their service. We will definitely be back and we will recommended to anyone that likes live music playing in the background.
Food was really poor quality snd pricey for what we got. Happy hour is not a deal at all. Will most likely not be back.
We were sitting in one of the booths not far from the windows facing Pleasant Street. It was too cold.
Service is excellent bus boys were very attenitive food very good.
The prices were very reasonable . We would come back .
It was my lady friend B D they served her a great desert.
Barclay's services the best Thanksgiving dinner buffet ever! Everything was fresh, delicious and hot! Loved it! I absolutely recommend this buffet!
We were disappointed in the quality of the food for the Thx buffet. We each got only ONE small piece of the roast beef, one especially fatty.
The quality of the deserts also disappointing. Mouse tasted like boxed chocolate pudding, apple pie to cinnamony parfait very bad, layer blueberry cake too sugary with a strange taste.
We last went to Barclay's Tx'g buffet three yeas ago and found it very good, especially the roast beef.
Needless to say we will NOT be return ting again - $122 tab way too high for what we got.
What a great place! Service was great... food off the chain. Try the calamari- really unique taste the way they do it. Then, try the burger, was great. We finished with creme brulee... fantastic!
Awesome spot. Hidden gem for sure. Little pricey but well worth putting in a reservation and having a nice dinner. Food is excellent and the drinks are very good as well.
Daughters 18th birthday. We are from out of state. She attends Concordia university. Had an excellent meal and great desserts. Service was the best!
Barclay's is SO GOOD. Get the ribs - they're the best in town. If you like live music, come at 7pm or after. If you don't, be sure to leave before then because you can't hear anything once that music starts. Food is delicious and reasonably priced.
Clam Chowder and Walleye were both very tasty. Many beer choices.
A very busy night - but it did't change the excellent service and the fabulous dinner. Barclay's has had some wine changes - for the better. Love the Pinot Noir! Great night!
Wonderful experience, live music, excellent service and tasty meals of large portions.
Great! Will be back.
It took someone 15 minutes to great us at our table and that was only after we said something to the hostess. At least 4 waiters walked past us within that first 15 minutes and said nothing.
Service is always amazing. I love sitting on the patio. A great experience overall!
Great burger, nice outdoor seating, great service!!!
Great to sit outside...we had a great, personable, engaging server as well. Have been there many times before over the years. will continue going back.
Live Music at 8pm was a nice surprise. I would return if I was near Oak Park.
Good local restaurant serving American comfort food. Very nice and attentive servers. Great dessert menu. Added bonus was hearing a local band.
The food needs improvement. Servers were nice and attentive but we were also the only table sat in the restaurant.
Nice place but too expensive. 12$ for 2 tacos. Minimum 10$ for a glass of wine. Food was good and I liked the music but too expensive for me
Prices for wine, either a glass or a bottle, are very expensive...not what you would expect for Oak Park. They should rethink this because it will keep me away until they do.
Barclay's continues to separate itself from the old Philander's it used to be. Good for some, sad for others. However, the service and caliber of the menu has been very persuasive.
We had a group of 8 and the service was excellent. Food was prepared as requested.
My wife and I regularly dine at Barclay's. The pretzel encrusted trout is always superb. We invited another couple for their first visit. The husband had the trout and loved it as well as the two sides (wild rice and green beans almondine). His wife thoroughly enjoyed the huge pork chop. The only negative was the singer who had the amplifier cranked up to concert level despite it being a small to medium size room. It was most distracting to table conversation. The service was impeccable by the waiter and by several assistants (they were much more than bus staff). The left overs were boxed in recyclable material (not styrofoam). Barclay's is a medium to high class restaurant with moderate prices.
Barclay's is our favorite "go to" place when we want to be good to ourselves. The service is good and the food is excellent. Most of all, when we request our preference in seating, we're always accommodated.
Barclay's is a great Oak Park staple. They have a wide variety of food , which is always prepared well. The service is top-notch. We try to come in at least once or twice a month.
It was my our 44th wedding anniversary. This is one of our favorite restaurants for many years. Our daughter had her wedding reception at the hotel. Great dining and ambiance.
We had an enjoyable Sunday dinner. We found free parking across the street. The service was very good.
We were not rushed. We had branzino and salmon. The mushrooms, squash, and asparagus that accompanied the grilled branzino were well prepared and healthy.
The Easter Brunch was fabulous. Everything was fresh. Hot dishes were hot. There were so very many people enjoying the afternoon with friends and family. It was very nice to see. Highly recommend Barclay's for meals for any occasion. Great people.
The service, the Ambiance, and the food, is always superb!
One of my favorite places to dine . I've been going to this establishment for over 30 years.
The food was very good. The bands on Saturday nights add to the enjoyment.
My husband and I ordered filet mignon and the server brought two Delmonico steak dinners to the table. We looked at it and thought why is it flat like that? We both took one bite and soon discovered that it was not filet mignon. It was fatty and chewy. We immediately alerted out server and she apologized. She said she thought we said Delmonico when we were ordering. Honest mistake. We had to wait for a new order (correct order) but not for a long time. When it arrived we knew right away it was correct. It was delicious! The folk singers that were performing that evening were such a delight.
This was our first visit and we were thoroughly pleased.
Great food and atmosphere and the entertainment was top notch.
We’ll be back!
