Service was great! The food was exceptional. Highly recommend.
So great !!
Exactly what we wanted. We were tired from traveling and wanted some nice food without any pretentiousness. The waiter was great. Good service and charm without being overbearing. The homemade ginger beer was great.
Terrible and slow service. The food was average at best. Don't waste your time and money
Great cocktails and great food. The food was very flavorful and unique.
DineLA Dinner Menu was delicious! The steak tartare starter was hearty and delicious! It's a full cup size, and served with their yummy house chips. Their main entree the asado was tender and tasty! Served with charred cauliflower and green chimichurri, works wonderfully! Lastly, the dessert - the dulce de leche churros were a great way to end the meal - lots of sugar and cinnamon dustings, yum! Service was great - water was constantly refilled throughout, and meals came out back to back consistently.
My friends and I came here for DineLA. The dinner menu offered was great, and we each ordered a different dish. The appetizers were amazing and the desserts were to die for (best churros I've had in my life), I just wish they had a better dish for vegetarians. The eggplant was amazing but doesn't seem to suffice as an entree (although I do have a larger appetite than the average person, so). Overall, I recommend giving it a try, and I'll definitely come back to try the rest of their menu!
Terrible smell
I came with a friend who had been to Barcito once before and had absolutely loved the overall food and experience. I decided to give it a try after hearing from my friend how great it was. But it turned out to be such a bad experience and disappointing night for the both of us. The service was terrible. And the food tasted bland. No one came around to check on us and the food was extremely late. About half an hour to 40 minutes had passed since getting our first course and drinks without so much of a waiter to come by and ask if we needed anything. Everyone else around us seemed to be getting their needs met while we sat in the dark. We did get our drinks free of charge after having it brought to attention to the manager and we were serviced after that as it should have been. However, I would have paid half the overall price our meal for the quality of our service and the food. I hope that a future dining experience at Barcito is better serviced and the food is not so bland, before I decide to spend my money there again or recommend to anyone.
We really enjoy going to Barcito. The food is delicious (even for vegetarians), the beer and wine are solid, and it's a lovely chill place to hang out with friends.
Great food and service.
Wow! I had such an amazing experience here! First of all, our server, Zachary, was amazing. He was so positive and delightful but worked with a sense of urgency and was not pushy. He was very genuine which put mg fiancé and I at ease. Then, the food came out and it was extraordinary! The level of detail the chef puts into the dishes is amazing. Also, you can tell they use very high quality ingredients, because they don't try to cover it up with oil or salt. The flavors of all of the dishes stood out on their own. The handkerchief pasta, asado, and broccoli were what we ordered, and all 3 were home runs! Lastly, I love that this place is Gratuity-Free. It just made the whole check out process easier! Can't wait to come back!
Mediocre food. Pasta was cold and empanadas were lacking salt.
Came here with a few friends a few months ago. The atmosphere here is always laid back since it's a little further away from LA Live/Staples so it's a good place to get together with friends for a drink. However, the food was a bit underwhelming this time. The empanadas were just okay but the main dishes were very forgettable. Maybe we all ordered the wrong items so I may come back one day.
An ABSOLUTE GEM!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything about the place is AMAZING!!
Went here for dinner before a show at Staples center. Service is top notch and the interior is great, perfect smart casual environment. Food was good, although some dishes could use a little tweaking. Cauliflower was the favorite, as well as the asparagus and octopus. Least favorite was eggplant Parmesan, maybe slightly over fried. Overall the menu offers a great selection of healthy vegetable dishes (we are not vegetarians), which I always appreciate. Cocktails really good, also loved the first snacks before the meal (really really good olives!). Would recommend.
Unique and delicious tapas for all tastes and a refreshingly light house wine if interested.
Happy hour selection is small. Food portion seems smaller, but is very tasty. Price is a bit expensive for the food portion.
Love it! Wonderful place to grab delicious food and chill in DTLA.
Service was great, food was good and beautifully plated + presented. Only had a beer to drink but the drink menu was solid with diverse options. All in all, a great visit.
Great food and drinks
Even though I'd made a reservation, my table was the only one next to the bathroom. In addition my table was near a side exterior door that the restaurant kept propped open, so bugs kept flying in and attacking our food. A giant moth landed in my date's salad.
Excellent food and great portions to share. Very fresh, great flavors, unique combinations and awesome drink menu. Jamie was our waitress and awesome!
I love this place a little more overtime I go. The food was all good--my only quibble is that when you order the empanda (sp) you should either serve two or make it much bigger.
Otherwise, loved the vibe and the service (Jaime). Will come again and refer friends.
This was a business dinner. We love everything we ordered.
The food was tasty but nothing memorable. The ambience was great with high open ceilings. I think it's great for a quick bite with cocktails.
Fabulous food, drinks, and staff👍 Highly recommend. This is more than a great neighborhood spot.
Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. We shared several small plates that were really tasty. Wine offerings could be expanded.
Visited Barcito for dinner prior to a concert at the Staples Center. (For references, you can walk to Staples Center from here in about 10 mins!) Food was good, more 'tapas' style than regular portion meals. Ordered a few drinks as well, which were great. A must is the Churro. OMG....Delicious!
Nice location, close to Staples but better than LA Live restaurant options. Excellent, personable staff. Empanadas are outstanding as was everything else we tried. The menu could do with a few more choices but still enjoyable. Good beers on tap.
Nice place. Clean, modern design, but not cold. Great service. Good sized martini, lots of designer drinks. Food was very good, although not large portions, so if you're hungry it can add up. The no-tip policy is pretty cool, it's built into the price of the food and drinks, so that's different and interesting.
Went here on a Friday night around 9pm with a group of seven. I was a little concerned that it was not busier on a weekend. Once seated that all went out the window and we had a great time exploring the menu and trying everything barcito had to offer. The asado (braised short rib), seared goat cheese and empanadas "del dia" (of the day) were the favorites although everything we ordered was delicious. The service hit a rough patch towards the middle-end of the meal and one of our tapas orders was never put into the kitchen. Staff was unapologetic but in the end it all worked out and I will definitely be back. I should note that our group doesn't drink alcohol but the bar was beautiful and their drink menu seemed complete.
I was a little disappointed with the ambience and the food. The restaurant smelled like food as soon as you walked in. I know, I know, I'm going to eat what else should it smell like? Well, I hate going into a restaurant that smells like food because then I leave and my clothes wreaks of food. I guess I was expecting a little more.
Food and service were ok. Cocktail menu was ok. Restaurant itself felt grimey and there was an overwhelming greasy cooking smell in the place that made out eyes water and stuck to our clothing. First impression was to turn around and leave, but didn't. We reeked of cooking smells when we left. This restaurant really needs to invest in better exhaust hoods. LA is loaded with great restaurants, this was not one of them. Not sure how they rated 4 stars.
The food at Barcito was exquisite. Recommend the mixed kale salad, lamb medallions, and the pumpkin bread pudding. Servings are small, tapas-like, and gratuity is included in the prices which are fair given the quality of the food.
Everything was great. My boyfriend and I split about 5 or 6 tapas. My only complaint was they were all brought out at once, rather than being spaced through the meal, so some got cold before we could even get to it :(
First time visit this past weekend and will definitely return.
We went on a slow holiday night. Had friendly, prompt service and the food and wine were tasty. It would likely be a great spot on a weekend night with a big crowd. The plates were decent sized portions and reasonable prices. Definitely don't come here if you want vegan fare though. Nothing comes dairy free without a modification.
I liked the ambiance and the service but the food was meh.
Really enjoyed Barcito! Good food, nice menu, reasonably priced with attentive service. Plus, it's a no-tipping restaurant, gratuity is included in the prices.
They also do a nice job with presentation, like serving the wine in small little bottles and including a snack tray for all drinks on the happy hour menu.
Nice relaxed atmosphere. Great value for the money. I will go back.
