While the food was good and tasty, I do not recommend going to this place. There is very little care for customer experience, the service is very disorganised and at points not very polite. A number of items were not ordered and got there very late. When we asked for anything as simple as salt there was no priority to deliver. We even asked for a side to go with the late items and the waitress decided to sit and chat with her mates before even placing the order. We had to cancel it and leave. In terms of ambiance, it was very loud, there are no heaters for the outside area so we were freezing throughout the dinner. Knowing all the issues we had, they didn't do very much about it or care about it either. Definitely not looking to go back to this place.
We were unlucky with the rain and cold but the covers and blankets provided made a big difference. Service good and friendly as ever. Great location now with the outside predestrianised. Could have done with heaters.
We can’t complain about the food other than to say as tapas fans, we have had better.
Service on the other hand was poor, it’s cold and windy so people don’t want to sit around for ages but here we had to go and ask / call the restaurant for someone to serve us, the waitresses weren’t good at eye contact and couldn’t see us waving our hands when they were nearby. Neither of us have ever had to ask to be served & this was 20 minutes into the booking waiting to order a drink!
When someone finally came we asked to order both drinks and food at the same time - she didn’t have permission to take our food order that was down to two other people, she was only there to take drink orders. Again never heard of this before.
We ordered the food and the bread came out swiftly but then it was another 40 minute wait for hot food. Which is unacceptable!
Normally we would have walked out and gone to another restaurant or even home, but we didn’t want to be that rude and with COVID-19 measures getting another table in London would be impossible.
When we asked for the £10 service charge to be removed and explained why, the managers response ‘we have done our best, it is not easy managing tables outside’ sorry but it’s the exact same as managing tables inside, just with the elements and no walls!
Not happy and won’t be returning or recommending.
Very wet and windy night but the marquee kept us sheltered. Food was lovely and service excellent. Heaters would’ve made it a 5 star experience
Arrived for our 7:30 reservation and there were groups with 7pm bookings still waiting for their table. We stood and waited for our table for half an hour and not one staff member approached us or communicated to us what was going on. When one of the groups in front of us asked why they had been waiting for 45 minutes for their reserved table, the staff member (I believe manager) explained that their table had been given away despite their arriving early. At about 8pm they brought out another table for us (which we only got as everyone else in front of us had given up and left by this point). By now freezing cold, we sat down. In spite of the pretty terrible service we had received until then, the wait staff still tried to upsell more expensive wines and extra starters. Absolutely nothing was offered to compensate giving away our booked table, which we were on time for, and making us stand and wait with no explanation for half an hour. Appreciate that they were extremely busy and probably quite stressed, but the whole situation was dealt with poorly.
Absolutely outstanding food. So so beautiful and fresh. Ordered the classic tapas menu, everything was so yummy and the portion sizes were great. Had a few shots of tequila, a jug of sangria to share and a jug to take home. The sangria was so drinkable, it was dangerous! Service was great, lovely friendly staff, was even offered a blanket to combat the sudden temperature drop. All in all, would happily come back and recommend this wonderful place to all my friends. Thank you Barcelona Tapas, can't wait to book with you again!
Fantastic food. Quick service. Friendly service. However no heaters or blankets.. 🥶
Nice food but a bit pricy for the size of the portions. Some heaters at the external area would be nice.
It was locked and closed so we all turned up for dinner and we’re left outside hungry!
While the food was good and the service staff were all friendly, there were several things that didn't go smoothly with our dinner.
First, they forgot to serve us several of the dishes we ordered. One we tried to ask about several times but it never came (aubergines). When we told the waitress about it when asking for our bill she said the kitchen kept insisting that it had been sent out which meant it went to another table. The other (prawns) was just never mentioned and never came. We did order a lot but it was disappointing to discover things were missing.
Second, it took forever to get any of the service staff's attention to ask for things like the bill. It took 20 minutes of trying to catch someone's attention, being ignored, then asking for the bill and waiting for them to actually bring it.
The food came out relatively quickly and everyone was attentive when at the table, but otherwise it was super difficult getting anyone to come when they weren't coming to serve something specific.
Good food but not worth the other troubles. We will likely not return.
We had to wait 30 min to get our booked table. They where really busy so some servers were not that great specially the manager. But food was lovely and good value. However, probably won’t be back.
Food was incredible, very authentic and most of all delicious. We had a lovely little outside booth, surrounded by trees and people having a great time, the vibe was great even though it was a crisp night in April.
The staff were friendly in helping us choose our food and drinks and very attentive there after and the price for a meal for two, with drinks was reasonable for central London.
Its been a trying time in lockdown and going to Barcelona Tapas Bar was such an amazing experience, I will most certainly being going back as soon as possible.
Very good food. Very slow and non-attentive service. Would probably try the place again, once they are allowed to bring diners back inside.
I left a comment to have couple drinks on the table upon arrival but nothing was done. On our order they missed Pimientos de Padron and we order Chicken Croquettes and got Ham ones. Service was appalling. I am not joking that we asked at least 3 different people for just 2 shots of Tequila. Bill with the item that never came to the table. Patatas Bravas were good but rest very very disappointed - from food to service
Delicious food and really attentive service. I would highly recommend dining here for lunch.
Lovely staff, great food, affordable. Lovely night
Decent food, terrible wait times on some dishes but all in all ok.
Amazing food and cute location. Tried hard considering the cold April weather and have multiple blankets to us. Unfortunately the food just took way too long to come out and we ended up leaving before all the dishes were put. Would go back when had more time and it was warmer/can sit inside.
Absolutely lovely place for some Spanish tapas of an evening. Provided blankets, service was brilliant, food was lovely, big portions and a great selection of wine. Will be back ASAP!
Great service and food
Started off a bit rocky as I had to call several times to try and speak to someone (2 of those times, the phone was picked up and put down and 1 I was hung up on).
But when we arrived, the service was incredible and the food was delicious!
We will 100% be visiting again.
Such bad food. So bad. The sangria had un dissolved sugar crystals in it. Shrimp tasted off. Pimientos had been breaded & deep fried. Even the Pattaya’s bravas were bad.
Food was awful and so was the service unfortunately
Amazing tapas, great sangria (can highly recommend the cava sangria), super friendly and helpful staff.
We waited for the food to be ready for quite some time even though the place was quiet and not busy
Great food great service
We had a tortilla as a starter along with a bread basket, which was quite good value. We then shared a meat paella which was freshly cooked in a proper paella pan and was all very nice. Finished with a nice glass of sherry. Staff were very friendly.
Great food and very friendly staff.
I go once a week if possible and always have a nice evening!
First visit , service and attention to Covid cleanliness etc was reassuring. Food was good and staff very helpful
Lovely staff and good wine and food
Absolutely delightful authentic food highly recommended
Lovely staff and good value tapas and wine
Loved it! Brilliant food and excellent service. Looking forward to going back.
Great food, friendly staff, quiet and good atmosphere - we'll definitely come back
Good food and service , the place could do with a spruce up
Booked a table for 15:30. When we arrived, we were told that they only provide cold food in the afternoons. This was not shown in the app at the time of booking so we left.
Servicewas best! Very friendly and fast. Food was tasty. Recommend for an everday dining.
Lovely little find, perfect for a light meal - service was excellent thank you!
Great for a friends meet up. Great selection of tapas to share.
