Amazing family style option, staff wa sfantastic, food is amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful and fun!
Everything was great. Our waiter, Stefano, was absolutely amazing and food was delicious.
Menu items that I came for were taken off the menu. Which was a bummer but happens. I specifically asked for a romantic table bc it was my anniversary and I received one of the worst tables in the restaurant. It was so loud and the manager was sitting with his fiancé the whole time which isn’t a huge deal but I wanted to have a romantic dinner with my date and just overheard their conversation the entire meal. I was just extremely disappointed. Our server Mario was AMAZING though which was honestly the only redeeming thing Barbusa had. Iv been coming to Barbusa for a long time and have brought so many of my friends to the restaurant and I wouldn’t even recommend it at this point. The quality has gone way down since it has become more popular.
AS ALWAYS A GREAT PLACE, VERY NICE ALL THE ATMOSFERE
Check in and getting seated went smoothly. Drinks were good but very small portions (cocktail was less than half full). Bruschetta was delish. Ox-tail dish was very bland and cold (we barely touched it). Dessert was very good and filling.
We had an incredible time at Barbusa! The food was delicious and the waitress we had was so present and available with our questions! We celebrated our anniversary and the atmosphere was romantic and lively — the perfect place to be in love! If we lived in San Diego, we would be here all the time!
Sat at the bar and had a great meal.
Someone had ordered the pasta dish with sea urchin and changed their mind. The waiter offered it to me and it was amazing! It was a lovely act and had a. meal I never would have chosen myself.
The staff at the bar were lovely and look forward to going back again.
Not a real Italian restaurant but very delicious!
We dined her because of a local recommendation and would never return. The service was poor (outside of the fantastic man who refilled water and cleared plates). The food was bland and overpriced for what you get.
Parking- I used valet- is terrible. I won’t be back. Service was outstanding. Food was good.
Food was amazing and fun atmosphere!
Two of us for late lunch…Great Wine, it was valpolicella from the Veneto region of Italy, good value, and nice change from california reds. The charcuterie plate was also delicious with olives cheese and a variety of meats. After all that, had the hot sopressata with honey pizza and the carbonara pasta as the main course. This pizza is highly recommended; you first taste the honey, then the onions, and then slowly the taste of the hot sopressata. Really like that. The dough of the pizza had a nice yeasty flavor. Waiter didn’t push us to order, really liked that. Fun crowd too.
I had a wonderful time on a first date here! Definitely coming back again
Service was bad. Super Slow. Waiter never checked in on us after dropping food off. Busboys provided more service than actual server. Food was mostly good, Caesar salad was baddd. Soggy, warm and gross. Shared this feedback, sent the item back and still paid for it. seated outside so didn’t get to experience full ambiance of inside dining. Seemed fun when I walked thru to bathroom.. the closest we got to actually experiencing Barbusa.
10/10 would recommend! Food was great and the place itself was so fun/ the service was phenomenal!
Great food and atmosphere. Sat outside and it was perfect.
Had my birthday dinner here and it was the most amazing experience. Incredible staff, food, ambiance, overall favorite place to eat in San Diego!
This was honestly some of the worst food I’ve had in ages. Our server was nice but didn’t seem to know what was happening (we ordered the fish of the day and she changed it after the fact because I guess she has just then asked the kitchen). The seafood salad I had just tasted like straight up Dijon mustard on shrimp. Gross. Seriously. The worst meal we’ve had in ages.
AmaZing food and great service!
Happening young vibe
No pizza, restaurant smelled and bad service
We tried the crudo and did not finish it due to odd flavor of the truffles and the pasta was mediocre. May have just been an off night.
My husband and I loved Barbusa! Diego was a great waiter and the entire staff was very professional yet friendly. Excellent food and service. We can't wait to go back!
Bad customer service
The food was very good but the noise level was incredibly high. I would say it’s the noisiest restaurant I have ever been and I go to a lot of them. I guess the music was super loud so people end up talking even louder just to hear each other? My husband and I were pretty much screaming at each other in order to hear each other or not talking at all to save our voices. I don’t care how good the food was, the noise was just too much so it was not a pleasant experience. I wasn’t looking for a quiet restaurant but at least one where I can talk and hear without having to scream.
Great food and service with amazing ambience and delicious drinks. Can never go wrong with Barbusa for a special occasion or just a random outing with friends!
Three courses were ordered. All three courses came out at the same time. Ordered a glass of wine (had a full discussion with server regarding the wine) and it never came. Reservation was made to celebrate my husbands birthday (specified on the reservation). There was no acknowledgment of the birthday. Dessert was not even offered as an option by the server. Overall, would not recommend unless there are no other options available.
Ambiance was lively, service was amazing, food very good
Food and beverages were incredible. Service was excellent as well. The speakers were way too loud though and made it difficult to have any conversation without shouting.
It was a bit disappointing to be honest. We were there for our anniversary and were completely rushed through the whole experience. Our waiter wasnt personable or interested in making our experience positive but was more interested in turning our table over quickly. The restaurant is very loud and trendy, so you must be prepared for that type of environment.
Some of the food was solid! We loved the garlic bread and the meatballs were a real standout. But we ordered a seafood pasta and there were only 3 small clams and not much else.
Prices were reasonable and although a there were a couple of standout items in our meal, I don’t think we would choose return.
Nice experience in Little Italy 😎
Our waiter was friendly and attentive despite servicing several busy tables. The noise level was too high to enjoy any conversation.
The food was good but we ate fast so we could get out of the loud restaurant.
Had an incredible dinner with Vince as our server. Truly made for a magical evening with friends. Look forward to coming back anytime I’m in town.
Food is overpriced. Lamb chops overcooked, Bolognese Al Forno was equivalent to spaghettios, and the pizza crust was undercooked. Had to send both back. It’s really crowded and it appears that the cooks are rushed to get food out and it shows in the food quality. Our food was out less than 10 minutes after ordering. Food quality definitely doesn’t align with the price they charge. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’re going there for drinks.
I have never been disappointed when visiting Barbusa. The food and wine are always excellent. The dishes are not too big, but are sizable enough for sharing.
Great vibe with accommodating front staff and good wine recommendation from our Italian waiter, but food was not as advertised on the menu and came out luke warm. Too bad because has great potential.
That Bolognese Al Forno was amazing...and the garlic bread was epic!
Our server was great which made the experience more enjoyable. The food and the presentation was incredible!
