Was a fine dinner
Food is amazing! We stopped in on Veterans day. Shared a pizza salad and a bottle of rose. Service was excellent! We will be back!
Amazing food! Almost all the dishes have their own specialty: all have a bit sweetness in them, which I really like and definitely contributes to the overall flavor! Best place I’ve been in little Italy so far!! Great service and really cute and modern decor!
Best fancy Italian food I have ever had calamari was the best I have ever had different yet perfect
Great service, good selection of appetizers and entrees.
Perfection in EVERY aspect!
I was in San Diego for a professional conference last week and somehow chose Barbusa for my last night dinner there. It not only did not disappoint, but was far better than I could have ever expected. The appetizers and cocktail were spot on and delivered in perfect order, neither too soon nor too late. The staff were fantastically professional and personable and welcoming. The salad and entree were simply the best, the wine was one of the best I've ever had, and the after dinner espresso was perfect. I loved everything about it. Thanks to the folks at Barbusa!
We love this place! No wait when we arrived but we had RSVP, so it’s all good! The happy hour menu was amazing! We tried almost everything on the menu! The prices are reasonable and food and service was great!
Great martinis. Met friends for dinner, had a great time! Thanks.
Great service, good food and presentation.
Was very loud and hard to hear from across the table.
Ara was our waiter and he made the entire experience exceptional. This is our 2nd time to the restaurant and the food was spectacular! We will return!
Food was truly outstanding. Server was friendly, and recommended a mid-price wine that really went well with our orders. We were seated on time even though the place was packed, and the pace that they brought out the food was just about right. This was probably the best restaurant meal I've had in the last 2-3 years and I consider my palate to be pretty sophisticated.
The food was excellent and good value. Service was good but we felt rushed to leave and the waiter suggested that we got dessert down the street! Extremely loud and hard to carry on a conversation.
Great food! Great atmosphere! Great service!! I would definitely come back..often!!
Birthday dinner. Was incredible but quite loud
Food was ok but didn’t meet the expectations. Service could have been better. Took 15 minutes after our reservation time to seat us and another 15 minutes before we were served our first drink. Too many other options in the area to go back again.
It was good, but I was expected more based on prior reviews. I will probably keep searching for a better Italian place in little Italy.
Wedding anniversary dinner...waiter was SO friendly and anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. Also, music playlist was on point!!
Greeted by two great hostesses - found our reservation quickly and accommodated us for a quiet table / hike made pasta and their cauliflower pizza was the BEST we have ever had -Chi our waiter had fantastic energy and attentiveness and will high to recommend and go again ! Great job
Good was not great , tasted sort of bland I had to put lots of salt on it for it to have some flavor . I will give it a second try
We had a big party and went right when the restaurant opened. The servers were kind and incredibly accommodating and we had the restaurant to ourselves for the first hour! Food was delicious and my friend we were celebrating was so happy. Great experience!
Service is absolutely amazing! Great food and drinks.
Good food. Nice for everyday dining
service was topnotch. Was a little loud. food excellant however the Bolognese seemed more of a meat sauce opposed to a true Bolognese... but very good. I would suggest to use a pasta that adheres to the sauce.
Overall wonderful. I will be back!
Would definitely go back but ask for a table in front or back. It is extremely loud and you can’t hear your dinner companions.
The food is very average
Loud wide open space.
I’ve dined here previously and came back for dinner for six. Very surprised at the poor quality of nearly all our dishes. Salmon was tasteless, chicken dry and just not very good, and all of us were not happy at all with dinner. What a great spot with awesome ambiance - food at least this evening - sub par.
Our waiter was over rob top amazing!!! He made the night so much fun and the food was delicious ‼️‼️
We returned due to a previous amazing dinning experience at Barbusa. Unfortunately our Sunday experience at Barbusa was less then wonderful. Our server was the highlight. The main issue was our appetizer, the Lolly Pop Lamb Chops (memorable from our first visit). They were not tender, they lacked flavor, and the garnish (fried shoe string sweet potatoes?) was stale... even the waiter agreed and offer to buy me another beer. I thanked him but declined his generosity, as my disappointment was with the kitchen sending out product that was not fresh. The let down for me was the kitchen did not reciprocate in any way. So, 5 Stars for the waiter, and 2.5 Stars for the unconcerned kitchen. If you crave amazing lamb chop perfection in San Diego, check out Pomegranate in North Park.
Booked this reservation really far out for our anniversary. They still sat us in the bar. It was so loud that we couldn't hear each other, so we took food to go. When we got home we noticed that not only were our orders wrong, but the chicken was rancid and most of it was still raw. And the noodles were undercooked. This was our very favorite place, but we're never going back again.
Always a great experience with fantastic service and food to match.
We were looking for a place not to have brunch ( eggs and waffles) on a Saturday and this was the place to go. They actually had a lunch menu. Like the calamari and the squash blossoms. Also enjoyed the pasta carbonara with peas. Found the Caesar salad to be a little on the odd side. Great drink menu. Excellent service from the bartender.
Food was great, ambiance was too late. The tables are so cramped together that we could hear
The noise was through the roof. Impossible to hold a conversation. Also the pasta was overcooked. Not great.
Barbusa is always our go to restaurant in Little Italy. Great food, great service, great ambience...
Parking! Best choice was to valet
Very very busy place with great atmosphere, bartenders, and an attentive wait staff! I would go back in a heart beat
The server was rude enough to have me feeling awkward. He made us waiting for more than 15 mins to get order our dinner while we were at the table and we were able to order menu a way after other people came after us ordered their food. He was trying to arguing with me when I was complaining about it, saying he was asking of menu to us. But, he just came by our table and ask of water! we got served water already from other server. He also miss-ordered our menu to the kitchen so we got wrong food. it was totally awkward experience...
