Stephano was the best server! Humorous, thinking ahead and getting each person at the table’s preferences. Interacting with the teens in ways that had them really engaged. Food is the best and great people work here. Second time and we will be back!

We had a reservation and we were almost out the door. It seemed like our table was put in a spot that a table was not meant to be. There people next to us the whole night because it was right next to the host stand.

It was as good as I expected it to be. I was so excited about this restaurant and the food was pretty good. The gnocchi was a little too sweet for me but that’s definitely a personal preference. The rest of the food was great. Our server was also amazing and he made my sister feel very special on her bachelorette and arranged for her to get a free dessert. Overall very satisfied

Second time at Barbusa in the same week, since we had to make SURE everything was delicious and that our first trip wasn't just a fluke. The pesto and the carbonara were our favorites, and we tried 3 different appetizers that were all outstanding, so it's hard to imagine the other starters not falling into the same category.

Great date night spot, very lively and the food and wine were excellent! Our server was great and recommended a perfect wine based on my preferences. The cheese plate, oysters, and bolognese main dish were fabulous!

Five of us dined on a Wednesday night. The carpaccio and pasta dishes were excellent. The flavors of the pistachio pesto and mushroom pasta were splendid. It was a little noisy but it was a really fun scene. Our waiter was excellent. I would have rated service higher but we had to ask for our 5th table setting. The price point was very reasonable for delicious food.

Have been to Barbusa a few times... always for dinner. I have to say that the lunch we just had was underwhelming. I still would recommend someone to go there but maybe lunch is not the peak time for staff or food preparation (chefs) as the food was just "ok". My co worker had the risotto and it was so "fish" heavy tasting that is was not enjoyable. I had the pasta Bolognese. It was filling but again nothing to write home about. I'll go back to Barbusa but not for lunch.

One of my favorite places. We had our waiter help us select a superb Super Tuscan to start. We had the calamari - light and crisp batter; meatballs - very tasty!! Our pasta was perfectly done. We experienced the beef tips and crab pastas. Lemon cheesecake was not too sweet and light. Cannolli chips were very good too.

Came here for lunch with my family. We ordered the Garganelli Funghi, Carbonara Con Piselli, Bone Marrow Cavatelli, and Bombolotti. Every single thing we ordered was delicious! Mario, our waiter, was very friendly and accommodating. By far, the best Sicilian/Italian food I've ever tasted.

Very hip and happening spot in Little Italy with some great pasta. The restaurant is packed out and it’s easy to tell why. Definitely a restaurant for a special occasion.

I'm not sure I understand the hype. I come from an Italian family and this just doesn't live up for me. We knew we were going to have dessert at Extraordinary Desserts so I looked for best Italian nearby, knowing Little Italy doesn't necessarily serve the best Italian, but found one or two lists that included Barbusa. I assumed this place to be something extraordinary since they are always booked out and have a full house pretty consistently. I had the bolognese, it lacked the heartiness and deep flavor and instead looked/tasted like spaghetti-os. We started with meatballs which are always a true measure of an Italian spot for me, and they honestly tasted nearly identical to the canned meatballs in spaghetti-os, too... they lacked any amount of flavorful spice and had a lack of texture that made them akin to frozen grocery store meatballs. I can't remember what my dining partner ordered but she wasn't very impressed either, I felt bad for suggesting the place by her reaction to her first bite. Also the food came out alarmingly quick. Sometimes quickness isn't a good thing - which seems to be the case here! I'm surprised at the sheer volume of positive reviews for consistently "meh" food.

The overall experience for my group was excellent. As a group of nine, Barbusa had no problem accommodating an additional person in our group on site. The staff was expeditious and helpful. Wine, food and service was all 5 stars! Can't wait to go back next year when we are in town again!

I had an early lunch with my 5 girlfriends. We ordered the recommended granchio crab pasta ($20.93) minus the serrano chiles, and carbonara pasta ($17.84) to share. I thought the granchio spaghettini was overcooked and rather gooey and fishy tasting. The carbonara was cooked al dente, the sauce was tasty but a bit too thick for my liking. Serving size was quite large. We also had the centrioli salad ($12.59) that was listed under "greens". There were no greens, just tomato, corn, cucumber, and hearts of palm. The serving size was rather small for the price. The best entree, in my opinion, was the pancetta pizza. ($15.43) Yum! I'd go back for the pizza if parking wasn't such a problem. Service was great and the owner was very friendly.

Great food lots of unique dishes, not your typical Italian restaurant. Excellent service. Noise level is off the chart. Hard to have a conversation. When its busy it’s not the place for an intimate dinner.

We loved our food at Barbusa and understand why it is such a popular restaurant. It was the best meal we had during our 11 day vacation in San Diego and La Jolla. It would be nice if it had better acoustics so you could hear the person next to you.

I took my friend here before her surprise bachelorette party. I never like to recommend a restaurant because I am always afraid someone else might not like it. I’ve loved this place since the first time I came here about 2 years ago and i fell in love with it all over again with my recent visit. My friend is very picky with her food and always has an opinion but she loved it! I will definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone!!

We had a large group, 9 people. Sometimes service for such a large group can be challenging but everyone from the hostess Stephanie to the owner Vincent to our server Chi were absolutely amazing as was the food. We could not have asked for more. Highly recommended. The concierge at the US Grant hotel was right—outstanding choice.

Hostess was giving us a hard time about seating because 1 out of our party of 4 was running 5 mins late... Had to assure her multiple times that the 4th person really was going to show, which she did-5mins later. Left a bad impression on out of town guests.

I had the server help me decide on a dish. It was amazing. She was very attentive. Loved the vibe in here. Went for a solo dinner while on a business trip and it was very comfortable with the bar and high top seating. There were a few people huddled at the hostess area when I walked in and no one greeted me. It was unclear if they were hosts or what. It was a little awkward having to wait and interrupt them to mention I had a reservation. Other than that, everything was great and I will go back.
