Barbatella a new kind of restaurant that will grow on you in the same way that the leaves & branches of a grape vine develop out of a shoot: a "barbatella" Barbatella offers an extensive menu that incorporates fresh interpretations of authentic dishes. You will enjoy pasta with typical ingredients from Emilia-Romagna, the Veneto, Tuscany, Puglia & the Adriatic shores. Meat & fish on the rotisserie & the grill or in the deep-fryer & the smoker: whole roast duck, smoked pork baby back ribs, Venetian style meatballs, & much more. In our wood-burning oven we will make signature pizzas with cheeses & garnishes that emphasize a fresh Italian take on a favorite. Another exciting prospect at Barbatella is the production of home-made Italian ices, gelatos & sorbets– available as individual portions to enjoy as you wander around Old Naples. Barbatella has beautiful courtyard setting with views along Third Street. There is a sixteen-seat bar which features 100 wines available by the glass.

Barbatella Ratings and Reviews
It was a busy Friday night in February, so our server was very slammed -- so everything I'm writing we took with a grain of salt. It took a little while for our waters to come out, and my steak was overcooked. My boyfriend ordered a steak as well, so we just switched as his was cooked perfectly. They sat us right next to the piano player, who was amazing -- a little loud, but I've never seen live entertainment play for 90 minutes straight without taking a break. Highly recommend if you are looking to relax and not take things too seriously...
Lovely meal! Food was excellent! Highly recommend the mussels, any of the pizza and the bolognese pasta was spectacular. Wine selection has something for everyone! We had kids with us and they were very welcoming — even had a kids menu. Tip: all the pasta is handmade and the kids Mac n cheese is to die for. It was so good, we ordered one as an appetizer to share for the adults! This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Naples. Service is excellent as well! You won’t be disappointed.
I treated a group of 12 for a dinner after a 2 hour drive from Miami. The restaurant closed at 10pm yet I was able to make a reservation for 9:45pm, which I thought was FANTASTIC. I was worried about going to sleep hungry since most restaurants in Naples close at 9.
When we arrived our table was set and beautiful. we had a few more guests arrive and the managers was very accommodating. Our food was out quickly and it was delicious. We were originally sitting outside which gave us a beautiful view of the lighted patio and live entertainment. The live music was perfect. Loud enough to enjoy but not too loud where you can't make conversation.
We ended up moving our party indoor to make room for more guests and the manager and staff took care of everything with a smile.
Our server didn't smile and was very serious but overall, he took good care us and checked on us constantly to ensure we were okay.
Overall, great place. I'll be back .
We love Barbatella - beautiful interior and courtyard. Many home-made pasta dishes - very authentic. Friday evening I had the best fish I have ever had - their whole branzino filleted at the table by our waiter. Nice music by a keyboard player. It's truly one of the best restaurants on 3rd Street - or in Naples.
My pasta dish came out cold, my wife's veal parmesan dish was small and cold. Our friends dishes were the same. It took us a while to get our waiters attention for water, additional plates needed for sharing appetizers. While the ambience was very nice based on the prices which were expensive and the portions that were relatively small for the price I would not return.
Food is always good, server was very nice and sufficient. I had two problems. The olive oil and Balsamic bottles looked and felt like they have not been cleaned in months. They also bring main course without taking away appetizer trays and dishes time after time, very annoying. The need to invest in a manager to tighten up the staff.
Very disappointing! The food was not fresh. The greens in the salad were brown and limp and a lemon garnish had MOLD on it. There was no one in the restaurant and yet, the server was inattentive. Asked for refills the few times he checked on the table and the refills never came.
This was a first experience for me/us. I brought a group of friends for a birthday celebration. I am so glad that I did! Our server (Michael) was attentive and helpful but not obtrusive. We sat in the front Courtyard on 3rd Street and it was a great setting. The piano player was fabulous - we stayed even longer so we could listen longer. It was vibrant and fun for a Saturday night. There were several families with younger children as well as many small groups and couples. Barbatella is definitely on our list of new "go to's"! THANK YOU!!!
