Barbatella a new kind of restaurant that will grow on you in the same way that the leaves & branches of a grape vine develop out of a shoot: a "barbatella" Barbatella offers an extensive menu that incorporates fresh interpretations of authentic dishes. You will enjoy pasta with typical ingredients from Emilia-Romagna, the Veneto, Tuscany, Puglia & the Adriatic shores. Meat & fish on the rotisserie & the grill or in the deep-fryer & the smoker: whole roast duck, smoked pork baby back ribs, Venetian style meatballs, & much more. In our wood-burning oven we will make signature pizzas with cheeses & garnishes that emphasize a fresh Italian take on a favorite. Another exciting prospect at Barbatella is the production of home-made Italian ices, gelatos & sorbets– available as individual portions to enjoy as you wander around Old Naples. Barbatella has beautiful courtyard setting with views along Third Street. There is a sixteen-seat bar which features 100 wines available by the glass.

Barbatella Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointing! The food was not fresh. The greens in the salad were brown and limp and a lemon garnish had MOLD on it. There was no one in the restaurant and yet, the server was inattentive. Asked for refills the few times he checked on the table and the refills never came.
This was a first experience for me/us. I brought a group of friends for a birthday celebration. I am so glad that I did! Our server (Michael) was attentive and helpful but not obtrusive. We sat in the front Courtyard on 3rd Street and it was a great setting. The piano player was fabulous - we stayed even longer so we could listen longer. It was vibrant and fun for a Saturday night. There were several families with younger children as well as many small groups and couples. Barbatella is definitely on our list of new "go to's"! THANK YOU!!!
Ordered Parmesan Reggiano and marinated olives for appetizer but was served one little piece of parmesan (approx. 1-1/2" piece) and the rest was Pecorino Toscano. I told waitress there was a problem and she sent manager over who in turn proceeded to inform me that I was wrong and it was all parmesan reggiano (even when I showed him the 2 cheeses side by side) he could tell because they were cut from a big wheel...made NO sense. Ordered Orecchiette for dinner but it was too salty to eat. Would never go back. Too many really good Italian restaurants in Naples to waste an evening here.
I was very disappointed. I have been coming to Naples for 20 years and was told by a friend who is in the entertainment industry to dine here. We arrived without a reservation after seeing on Open Table they had openings every 15 minutes. We arrived at 7:30 and were told by the hostess, "we could not seat you at all." Then we walked a block, made an open table reservation, came back, looked her in the face, and she said, "I'm sorry,,, not sure what happened...." I do. It's called rude. The restaurant is over rated. Service is poor and attitude is high. PASS.
Ate here around five times but never inside; it’s an outdoor gem with a lovely fountain. Can’t figure out why it’s never more crowded. Italian fare, quite good food. Service could be better but fun to sit, eat and people watch, then take a photo at the fountain.
The big negative was the entire dinner was rushed. I realize the restaurants & servers make more money when they turn tables but this was ridiculous, bordering on rude.
Food was good but we won't be back. I'm happy to pay these prices for good food & nice atmosphere but not here...
I have always enjoyed this place. The only issue we have that evening is that we told the waiter we preferred that the heater not be turned on that was next to us. Somehow, or someone, did light the gas flame heater, which literally melted our guests that were close to it. My Lasagna was great.
The food was average - I had pasta that was a little too al dente - however the owner/manager was rather rude - restaurant was not crowded - we were dining al fresco and it was chilly - he moved heat lamp away from my fiancé and me - only payed attention to table next to us - and never once asked us how our experience was - too many stellar restaurants in Naples to return
Unhappily, our recent dinner experience was not one of our best at Barbatella. The special local restaurant week menu was best forgotten. The appetizers: Beets with Burrata, and the eggplant parmigiana were both tasty. The pork entrée was tough, the branzino overcooked, neither would have encouraged first time diners to make a return visit. Luckily, we always enjoy our lunches in Barbatella's lovely patio, and will continue to focus on those.
Love Barbatella! The food is so fresh and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the ingredients in all of the dishes. We had the chef make a meat and cheese plate as an appetizer before sharing a salad. The Sea scallops were delicious and the pasta is homemade!
