Barbatella a new kind of restaurant that will grow on you in the same way that the leaves & branches of a grape vine develop out of a shoot: a "barbatella" Barbatella offers an extensive menu that incorporates fresh interpretations of authentic dishes. You will enjoy pasta with typical ingredients from Emilia-Romagna, the Veneto, Tuscany, Puglia & the Adriatic shores. Meat & fish on the rotisserie & the grill or in the deep-fryer & the smoker: whole roast duck, smoked pork baby back ribs, Venetian style meatballs, & much more. In our wood-burning oven we will make signature pizzas with cheeses & garnishes that emphasize a fresh Italian take on a favorite. Another exciting prospect at Barbatella is the production of home-made Italian ices, gelatos & sorbets– available as individual portions to enjoy as you wander around Old Naples. Barbatella has beautiful courtyard setting with views along Third Street. There is a sixteen-seat bar which features 100 wines available by the glass.

Barbatella Ratings and Reviews
We have been going to Naples for years, and even have a home there, but had never been to Barbatella for some reason. We always walk by and comment how pretty it looks. It is located on 12th Avenue (near 3rd Street) surrounded by lovely shops and other restaurants. The 12th and 3rd area is actually prettier and more charming than the popular 5th Avenue part of Naples. We finally made a reservation for dinner. The food was delicious, and the service was fantastic. Naples is full of restaurants--many are just average. Barbatella, on the other hand, is anything but average. It is a delightful and wonderful choice--Its lovely ambiance, high quality food and wonderful service make it a real treat.
We were 2 couples out for dinner on a Monday evening . The hostess sat us outside in a lovely table with nice ambience. Our server was efficient and helpful. Each of us really enjoyed our dinners. I will definitely go back and recommend Barbatella to friends
We have been to this restaurant many times over the past years and this was the best experience we have had. Food was outstanding. The roast chicken was perfect. The meat platter for two was excellent and was big enough for four. The service was spot on and the piano player added to the night. Outdoor dining here is always preferred. Great vibe. Highly recommend it.
We've dined at Barbatella many times and have enjoyed the food , setting, and ambience. However, on our visit Thursday evening we sat at an outdoor table where there was an "entertainer" who sang popular songs over VERY LOUD synthesized music. He does not have a great voice, and in order to be heard over that VERY LOUD "music" he must therefore sing , you guessed it - loudly. And he never takes a break.
Add to this a table of 10 with a French bulldog who is cute, but doesn't have the table manners to be at a restaurant. The dog didn't care for the perfomer either and barked continually throughout.
This atmosphere was not conducive to an enjoyable meal.
We have nothing against dogs (or good music), and think it's great that Barbatella allows our canine friends at their outdoor tables as is done in Europe. However, pets should need to behave to be welcome... and the entertainment should be in keeping with a European styled dining experience.
A warm and welcome greeting and attentive service thru out the meal, with some of the best Italian food outside of Italy’s! The wine list covers your every need or desire, just a complete meal experience made better by Mauro who is always there to assist as needed. Highly recommended and you won’t regret dining there!
I dined at Barbatella alone the other night and had the arugula and radicchio salad. It was great - cold, crisp with just the right amount of dressing, with heirloom cherry tomatoes which were to die for! Lots of shaved Parmesan also! The Diavola pizza was also excellent and when asked for Parmesan the waiter came out with a huge chunk of cheese with a huge grater and grated it directly on the pizza! It was delish! I sat by the fountain which gave a great perspective to people watch.
Overall great food, pizza and lasagna were as good as I had heard. Service was a little pushy and we were seated right next to the restrooms on a very slow night. I should've said something. Didn't want to spoil my husbands birthday. I was in f&b for 37 years and I can be overly critical. Our guests visiting from Las Vegas really loved it. We definitely would return.
Very disappointing. I have been here other times. It was not busy ( given that it was pouring rain). Our waiter was attentive to begin with and then seemed like he disappeared. Apparently he had been assigned to another table but failed to let us know or to direct his replacement. My fettuccine was mediocre at best. Don't believe that this is the usual experience but it was disappointing nevertheless.
