I'm from England so didn't know what La Jolla would be like and was manically searching for somewhere to take my American grandmother on Mother's Day. So made a reservation at Barbarella and I had to call just before to make it a bit later, which was no problem! Food was good, delicious Italian food and the service was lovely too! My grandmother has trouble walking and all the staff were quick to help her. Couldn't have asked for a nicer restaurant, and the prices are so reasonable too!

This was an amazing find! I took my mom here for Mother's Day and we both fell in love! The owner was an absolute doll and she made us feel right at home. If you're looking for a unique and absolutely adorable brunch, lunch or dinner spot in La Jolla, this is most definitely the place for you! Can't wait to go back :)

Love Barbarella's year round... always delightful decor that changes seasonally to create a unique and warm ambiance. Most of all the food is always the most fresh and tasty, service excellent, great menu variety and wonderful cocktails.

We have been going to Barbarella's for years. We just had lunch on Easter Sunday. Although the restaurant was full the service was the same as always, friendly as well as professional. The food is always of the same good quality. They recently added some new cushions and seating in the outside area which is very nice. It's a greatr place.

Really good neighborhood gem and local favorite. Great food and service. Sidewalk-cafe atmosphere, great people-watching. It's all good, go here. Easy parking and just 3 blocks from La Jolla Shores Hotel and beaches.

Our first time there. Found the restaurant on Open Table and Yelp. Disappointing. The female waitress was indifferent. The food was ok--nothing to rave about and the salads small. This is not a place we will return to...

Barbarella is a La Jolla Shores staple since early 2000. Barbara Beltaire offers up inceredible dining in a fun environment that is cozy and quiet and has an incredible outdoor dining area with indoor / outdoor fireplace. The food is amazing, service is great and it is a repeat and perennial at all times of the year. Amazing salads, salmon, fresh bone in fish, fettucine bolognese!!!

Always an extraordinary experience. We would not miss a Halloween or Valentine's Day without our favorite beloved (and well decorated) Barbarella. Hot crunchy and chewy bread brought out immediately a major treat, fresh seared salmon the best in San Diego, wonderful salads, pizza, chicken, personalized service.

Lovely! We had our valentine's day dinner here last night and it was a blast! The staff are very friendly, quick, and accurate. Food are wonderful and good quality. I can taste the freshness and healthy process. Surrounding was relaxing and cozy, I can see myself enjoy a nice lunch and dinner with my best friends (including my 4 legs ones) here from time to time. Wonderful!

We had 4 in our party and made an advance reservation. We had a nice server and the food was reasonable/not exceptional and probably priced well for La Jolla Shores. The bibb and blue salad was split for my husband and myself and was very tasty. We got the mushroom and truffle oil pizza which was good. The margarita pizza didn't have much flavor. The soup was tasteless. Hope this helps!

We had a fantastic evening at Barbarella. The food was amazing and so was the service. This was our first visit and it won't be our last! We commented to Paul how much we liked the bread and as we were leaving he had bag of fresh bread for us. It's this kind of exceptional service which brings people back. Thank you!

Visited on New Years Eve with my boyfriend and another couple, and Zack our waiter was great! He was friendly, attentive, had great suggestions and made the ease of a hectic night very pleasurable. I am soooo in love with the Salmon Tartare and can not wait to come back for that and his suggestion of delicious wine!

My food was good, had pizza with goat cheese, would have changed a few things - too many yard ornaments for the holidays - they went for quirky and got overdone, when I presented an american express card I was asked if I had another card, I was out with business associates and did not want to provide a personal card so this was akward. Everyone seemed to like their food and the espresso drinks were good.

The food is very good but the wine list is rather disappointing, at least as to the whites which we drink. There are a couple inexpensive and not very good choices and one twice-as-expensive choice which is a poor value relative to its quality.

The Hallowe'en decorations at Barbarella every year are something my wife and I look forward to, as do a number of families. The children (young and old) especially enjoy the friendly spooky atmosphere and many of them show up in their Hallowe'en costumes. We also enjoy the menu and the friendly, prompt service.

Terrible food and way overpriced. Had a salad with chicken on top, for a whopping $18. Salad had zero flavor and the chicken was dry as can be. Awful, would never go back! If they can't even make a great, tasty salad, wow I'd hate to taste the food.

Ambiance galore! Dining inside or out, it's a very romantic place! Smaller one page menu but food was tasty. Probably the biggest mussels I've ever had, great butter sauce. Take a date. Oh and they have amazing seasonal decorations. Halloween was the theme this visit. Gouls and creatures were everywhere! It's a mini haunted mansion which in this instance would actually be a blast for kids, too.
