Such great and accommodating staff. It is our neighborhood spot so we got often but we just went for a birthday dinner and had such a wonderful time!!! Great pizza & service.
Not one of the charming park lets on Columbus. There were no soap or paper towels in the bathroom which is a big deal during Covid or no Covid.
The dinner was great, portion sizes are on the smaller size, definitely one entre per person. The restaurant is located on a busy intersection so the traffic noise was a bit much if you’re looking for a romantic and intimate meal. The outdoor seating is some of the best I’ve experienced since lockdown, ample table room and heat lamps, as well as cover for the rain (most tables were covered, some were not). My partner and I had an enjoyable time, would definitely come back.
Best pizza in SF Bay Area. We ate outdoors at a table on the sidewalk of Columbus Avenue. Had a heat lamp to stay warm. Nice people watching. Waiter was very attentive. Food as always was excellent. Great salads and apps. Best pizza!
Excellent food and drinks! Had to be outside for the pandemic so it was a little chilly but ambience was great and quick service!
When we first arrived, they sat us inside. It felt like a high school cafeteria. The noise level was really intense, both the way sound generally carries in there, and because they were blasting techno. I was going for a nice Italian dinner date, so I asked to be moved outside. Service was very slow, like it took 25 minutes to get our drinks, which we had to ask for twice. Same for water. Same for the restaurant week menu. It seemed like they hadn't appropriately staffed for the amount of people they were serving. Service and ambiance aside, the food was good. The burrata app was great, as was the veal carpaccio. I didn't love the calamari, as it was a bit burned and tough at times. The bolognese dish hit the spot. All in all, I wouldn't go back personally
Food was fine but nothing blew us away. Portion sizes were on the small size. Calamari was overcooked and mostly tentacles.
really good ingredients really good taste a great experience overall. the music was slightly loud and the indoor tables were a bit weirdly arranged but both were okay, especially considering the covid times. highly recommended.
Aldo and staff did an amazing job accommodating our huge group, even in this pandemic. Everyone enjoyed our food very much and it was a great ambience that they set up outside. The beautiful weather in San Francisco really made this experience Perfect
Great place to sit out in the open and people watch. The waiter was very polite and accommodating and the food was good.
It was a lovely spring day in San Francisco, the public warned away by threats of the flu, but we washed our hands before dining and I enjoyed a beautiful pear and gorgonzola with honey and walnuts pinsera al fresco, it was fluffy and chewy and altogether delicious. I paired it with the Barbera and walked home with a happy heart.
This place is a neighborhood gem in North Beach. This is a true Pinsa place. Others say they make Pinsa but this place delivers. The crust is made with wheat, soy and rice flower and it makes it fluffy which adds significantly to it. The Pesto and Pear Pinsa's are unique and to die for. The place has a nice bar (reasonable prices) and the entrees and salads are excellent, particularly, the blood orange salads. The service is what you would expect from a Pinsa/Pizza place with these reasonable prices
Seated 20 minutes late for our reservation, then it took forever to set or lit table and they kept bringing the wrong amount of glasses/silverware. But was quick, delicious, and reasonably priced.
It was Valentine’s Day so it’s expected to be busy and noisy but they definitely over packed the seating. We had a waiter come by our table with a random dish that wasn’t ours. Aside from it being packed and busy the food was pretty good. The pizza with pesto and burrata was delicious and cooked perfectly. Same same went for the lobster ravioli which was very good. I recommend this place to people for an affordable good Italian restaurant
We made a reservation last minute. Even with that in mind, it is not okay that we get seated 20 minutes later. The restaurant was extremely understaffed, and I am assuming that is why. If you can’t handle reservations, don’t take it. Crowded and loud - which was fine as I went with friends but it’s not your first date spot. The food was decent though. So if you are okay with slow service and noise, I’d still recommend this place.
We had a nice lunch at Barbara Pinseria. The atmosphere was cool although it was quite empty when we were there. The food was pretty good. The arugula salad was a bit bland. The burrata was delicious. The pinsa good. We didn’t try the pasta. Overall I’d give it a 3.5 stars.
Was in the neighborhood and this place looked super cute from the outside. So we decided to check it out on yelp and the food looked amazing! Let me tell you the food was delicious! The serve gave great recommendations and was quick. Had a great dinner.
This place is a true Pinseria. Many places say they make Pinsa which is a form of pizza that alters the crust to be made with wheat, rice and soy flour instead of the more traditional whet flour. The result is a crust that is soft and airy. The pinsa here is fantastic and the pesto and pair pinsa are my favorites. The entree's and salads are quite good as well. The place is energetic and the price point is excellent. Most import to me is the consistency of the food and service.
Outstanding burrata and heirloom tomatoes and pasta bolognese. Excellent service.
Family gathering and the place was recommended by a friend. We were not disappointed. Nice wine list and good pour on the well drinks. Good selection of starters and main courses. Our diverse group loved everything about the place. It’s high on the list when we return to the City
Like a trip to the Eternal City without the plane ride. Best cacio e pepe I've had in SF hands down. Great service too. I'll be back.
Barbara Pinseria was wonderful! I took 15 of my colleagues there for a group dinner/bonding experience and the service was attentive without being overbearing, the food came out hot, in a timely fashion, and tasted delicious, and the price for quality/portions was some of the best for a Bay Area restaurant that I've come across. I'll definitely be going back.
This place was great. They accommodated our large group before seeing a show. The service and food were fantastic! We will definitely be back.
Amazing experience! The food was incredible, service was great and the restaurant is adorable
You can actually carry on a conversation in the restaurant while having delicious Italian food and great service.
Prompt service, great pizza, awesome brussel sprouts and the veal delivered. Food was delivered to the table faster than I could have imagined. Great spot for sharing, conversing and chill’n.
Absolutely fantastic! One of my favorite Pinseria's in the city.
Great local spot under the same Italian owner of Pasta Pop Up and Il Casaro. Nice ambiance. Outdoor seating. Good wine selection and a great choice of pastas and pinserias (different type of pizza; yummy). One of my go-to places in North Beach.
A system needs to get going in order for this place to succeed. Some amazing waitresses who deeply care about the restaurant that are spoiled by a few bad apples who could care less or don't care enough to see it's success. Appetizers need to come before the main course and if they are not, then the waiter should recognize that, not the customers. The food needs TLC if this place wants to succeed as well. If I were to wave my magic wand I would say, train train train your people - you can't possibly believe that if you train them and they leave it's worse than not training them and they stay! I live in the neighborhood and would love to see this place succeed...sadly there is no way this place will last more than a year if they keep up at this level. Migliora te stesso per favore!
The Panta Rei, which used to be my favorite Italian restaurant in San Francisco for over 20 years closed and was replaced by Barbara Pinseria. So I tried the new restaurant and I could not be happier. The service was great, the food was delicious and the al-fresco dining was wonderful for people watching and experiencing the outdoor fresh air and liveliness of North Beach while dining. Great cocktails and beer selection, the restaurant was immaculately clean, and the atmosphere was awesome. I will always stop in when in San Francisco to dine here. Highly recommended.
Wonderful service, ambiance, and delicious food & drinks! I will be back :)
Classic italian restaurant in north beach - great food and good service!
Cute space but terrible acoustics and mediocre food
The Pizza is different. We had the pesto and the pear with gorgonzola pinsa and they were both excellent and very different than regular pizza. The crust is light and airy and the toppings great. The service was fair.
We tried the pasta and pizza and loved the flavors in the pasta. The pizza was very good!
We love this restaurant! Our favorite salads are the kale or the arugula salad- fresh and seasonal. We LOVE the pinsas! Pesto and mozzarella is our favorite, but we’ve tried almost all and they are delicious. Pastas are good- carbonara is done well, and the pepe e cacio is hard to mess up; but the pinsas are the stars. Great wine and cocktails. A bit loud if you have older folks in your party or want a more intimate setting, but it’s a lively and fun ambiance!
This place has the potential to be really good but was let down by hopeless staff who didn’t care.
This was my second visit. The pizza was superb great crust. Had the burrata and pesto as well as the pear and gorgonzola both were outstanding. All of their salads are exceptional. The past is unremarkable but good. Service was slow and not helpful
We went pretty late on a Saturday night. Food was good. Loved the pinsa of course. The amatraciana was good but somehow didn’t live up to the hype I read. Maybe it wasn’t as hot and was a bit cool when it came out. Or something. Not sure. Was still very tasty but just a notch apart from my expectations based on other reviews. Carbonara was quite delicious. We had the San Francisco and pesto burrata pinsa. Both perfection. The pesto exceeded my expectations by a long shot. To set the stage— it wasn’t packed at the time but it was late, in the middle of north beach hustle bustle somehow felt like we weren’t In that chaos though. We were there at 9:45 or 10:00 pm for about an hour and we were a table of 6. All went home happy and stuffed. Will likely be back.
Service is awkward. Does not pay attention to open table reservations
