This restaurant was very disappointing. We were very excited to try out Nemacolin’s newest restaurant, but will never go back. We had the Alfredo and it was completely tasteless. The chicken breast thrown on top was not cooked completely. My son’s spaghetti was so undercooked that you couldn’t bite through it. Overall rating: The food was terrible, the service was “Eh”, and the decor was tacky.

It is not a true Italian restaurant as portrayed on sites and literature. It is more of a pizza parlor with a loud bar. Food is Only warm and service is non existent. If you can’t get into Rockwell’s, I would recommend eating outside of Nemacolin resort. If you are looking for a bar with casual food, it is fine.

Service was great. The appetizers were delicious. The ravioli was undercooked and the sauce was thick and heavy. The meatballs were dry. They should have been pit in the sauce before they were served to soften them and them more juicy. The cannoli was not very tasty.

Meals were overpriced and were not well prepared. There was no flavor and chicken was dry. Dessert was good. Very disappointing experience for the first dining experience staying at the resort this weekend. Nice service though.

The service was not great. The girl at the reservation desk did not seem to have it together...she was very flustered by phone calls and people waiting to be seated. After we were seated, no one came to our table for at least ten minutes. While we waited patiently for even a glass of water and bread, we observed that others who were seated after us were served before before we were, which was all very frustrating, especially since we had a confirmed reservation. When our waitress finally arrived at our table, she apologized for the delay but really did not make any effort the rest of the evening to check back at our table. Finally, we felt the food was just average.

Excellent experience. Great food. I had the zucchini strip appetizer and veal Parm. Loved it. Wife had the Burrata appetizer and loved it and the pan fried gnocchi. Food was out in a reasonable time and had an overall enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend.

Our Barattolo experience was pretty awful overall. The waiter didn’t seem to know what he was doing. Service was exceptionally slow. Two of the four diners we were with didn’t get what they ordered but were told it was what they ordered when we knew it definitely was not. The food was mediocre, at best. The quality was relatively poor and flavor was nothing exceptional. I’ve had better food at Olive Garden. From the time we finished eating till our check was brought out was about 40 mins. It then took about another 25 mins to get them processed. I would never go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We have eaten a facility on many occasions. Since it became the new restaurant barattolo a lot has changed. Asking for a mixed drink on the first occasion when we came there Was quite simple and served as for example crown Royal mixed with ginger ale. During this visit it was served as a shot with ginger ale on the side so was the other drink which was vodka and water with lemon. To say the least the runner handed our table more than the waitress did. We were there for over 2 hours and saw the waitress three times. this time we sat on the second floor versus the first floor and I think where the Gap was is that she was running between both floors. I would rate this restaurant good but definitely not give this waitress a good rating. we've gone there for over 25 to 30 years and never had a waitress that was this poor.

One of the worst meals I ever ate. We took home the leftover chicken parm and promptly tossed it in the trash. Absolutely nothing was edible. Chicken was horribly over cooked. Pasta was cold and sauce was not good. Never go back. Will tell ALL my friends to avoid this restaurant .

We were on a girls weekend trip, celebrating a birthday.
The service was appalling. Four of us
Ordered drinks and it took over 15 minutes for them to arrive. The food also took an inordinate amount of time. The restaurant was not busy, either. I truly expected a too-notch experience from a Nemacolin restaurant, and was sorely disappointed. The pasta was good - definitely handmade but the red sauce tasted like it had been cooked for several days: very paste-like and acidic - really not even edible.
Up your game, Nemacolin... people pay a lot of money to stay there and should receive nothing but the best.

We sat outside on the deck because it was such a beautiful evening. The view of the golf course and the mountains in the background is lovely. The service was very good. All the wait staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinner menu was somewhat limited. Our teenagers both got the chicken parmigiana and said it was very good but they would have like larger portions of spaghetti. My husband enjoyed his pan fried gnocchi which had a delicious flavor and a marvelous sauce over it. My sword fish special was dry and flavorless so I would definitely not get that again. The ricotta cheesecase and chocolate hazelnut semifreddo were very good as well.

We were disappointed. Ravioli was al dente and tasted store bought. The upstairs space ambience is terrible. WE asked to sit outside and was just told no. We enjoyed cocktails while waiting - how could a restaurant that size on a holiday weekend choose to employ 1 bartender with insufficient help. She worked so hard and was definitely the highlite of the evening. Very friendly, helpful and mad ea great Old Fashioned! Our stay at Nemacolin was lovely but the food overall was inadequate!

The food was very good and authentic. The manager checked in on the meal too which we appreciated. We ordered the chicken Parmesan and fettuccine Alfredo as well as a couple cocktails. We left very full!

Not busy - several people came to table, but no one was our server - once Server arrived and placed order - forgot about our drinks - they came out after the salad - I ordered Chicken Parm and it came out Veal Parm - no one came back to check on us until my husband was finished eating. Then they offered to remake my meal, but by that time we were ready to leave. At this point we were the only people in the restaurant. They have a lot of work to do to make this be the type of dining you expect at Nemacolin.

We were on vacation this week and came twice in the week to have dinner! We took our in-laws and a family of friends with us. Food is fantastic! My son who is 3 doesn’t eat meat but LOVES the meatballs! We can’t wait to go back!

We were expecting a more authentic Italian Restaurant, but it wasn't even close. The bread was stale and more like white American bread. The oil on the table was either poor Olive Oil or not Olive Oil (I think it was just vegetable oil). The salad was okay, and the wood fired oven (oh, I mean gas fired oven) pizza was okay as well, but not as good as we expected. They also brought the pizza and appetizer at the same time. And the place was very noisy.

The restaurant was not busy, many open tables when we were there. We were sat outside upper deck, nice view. Food choices were limiting, price point was ok. Our server, Scott, was very pleasant and engaging. Biggest issue was service at our table. There was a point after food was served that we didn’t see him for about 20 minutes. At that tome were only occupied table on the deck. We finished our dinner and we counted two servers and two bus boys who came outside to clean tables and none of them checked our table and asked to remove dishes. On a third pass by of a server we asked home to get Scott. Scott came out apologized for being busy and we were offered desert but we declined. The restaurant was not busy. If we were to return to the resort we would probably not dine there again.

Food was wonderful..server was attentive... ...we were seated between a table with young children and a party of 10...so the noise level was high. We will go back.

Staff was amazing. Did not have to wait for a thing and super friendly!

Food was not all that. Had ravioli with meatballs. Meatballs had a hard crust on the outside as if they were pan fried too long, baked at a heat too high, or sat on the bottom of the sauce pan. This also made them a bit dry. I like raviolis with a thiner pasta, mine were made with a thicker pasta and the edges were al dente but the centers were not. Cheese flavoring was good and the sauce was great. Raviolis were definitely a personal preference for me, I should have asked how they were made before ordering. Meatballs were not all that!

My wife had the salmon special and loved it. It looked like it was cooked to perfection too!

Saw several people ordering pizza, that looked incredible!!

I would go back, but ask more questions before ordering!

We were very happy to hear that Nemacolin was adding an Italian restaurant to its group of restaurants. Unfortunately Barattolo was not a great experience. Why? Well it took us about an hour to get our food. My grandson’s meal was wrong and had to be redone. My wife and I shared a salad which was great and a pizza which was pretty bad. The crust was soggy, most of the vegetables on it were canned (Blakey’s olives and artichoke hearts), and it came out like warm. In fact, my wife had to go from the patio inside the restaurant to complain and saw our pizza waiting under a heat lamp. Which brings me to the last point, the service. Our waiter was friendly but very slow. He didn’t stop by very often to check on us. At an adjoining table being served by another waiter the people came a half hour after we arrived and got their food before us. The only difference was the server. Lastly the restaurant is a recycled former restaurant (which is fine) but it barely looks like an Italian restaurant. As we were leaving management asked us to give them another chance. Ordinarily we would, but this time we cancelled our reservation for later on in the week. We are on vacation and we don’t need to experience another mediocre meal.

We were pretty disappointed with our experience and would definitely not recommend. This restaurant really has an opportunity to provide local farm fare in its Italian dishes and it just didn’t feel special at all. The margarita pizza didn’t even use sliced mozzarella and instead used shredded cheese with cherry tomatoes- such a simple dish and it missed the mark. The ambiance needs some work too- we sat at a weathered wooden table and near the end of our meal a server placed an LED light on the metal umbrella stand- eeek. A tablecloth and a candle would have been lovely! (And also a sweeping of the porch as someone’s pet left an unsavory something to look at during our meal.)

We were simply looking for a low key meal that tasted good & that was not the experience.
I’ve never left a poor restaurant review but things really need to change. Hopefully Nemacolin will put a little love into the menu & ambiance and it would make a world of difference for guests.

Although it was nice to have another option at Nemacolin, it is unfortunate that the food and service were substandard. All three in my party agreed that Nemacolin just can't get the food up to a four star level and Barattolo is just another example.

We sat outside on the upper deck. It was a beautiful evening and the view was spectacular! Our waiter was George and he was attentive. We ordered the lasagna and ravioli and both meals were delicious. We will be returning!

Disappointed with our meal and slow service, especially with this being at an expensive resort. The pasta was very dry and cold. They reheated and re-served to us but still was dry. They did deduct the expense of one meal, which was nice. Interesting that several other parties were complaining at the same time and left their pasta dishes uneaten. We had high hopes for a great Italian meal. The facility and the view was beautiful. This is the first time that I’m writing a restaurant review - I don’t recall ever having a meal experience like this.

Cheese platter was kind of sad with average cheese, only 1 meat (salami) and pickled tomatoes which tasted odd; Gnocchi was salty. My drink was fairly small. The ambience (accordion player was awesome) and our waiter was so pleasant an attentive. It's sad the food could have been better.
