Best restaurant in the South Bay!
Food and services were good. A bit pricey for what you get.
My husband and I Went for birthday dinner and had wonderful meal. Tomato cucumber falafel salad, Indian egg , gnocchi Nero and house focaccia.. oh yes the coffee toffee pudding. Great service from Christopher, early so quiet for conversation and parking spot. The dishes were so flavorful, I loved the gnocchi Nero with crabmeat, so rich that I sopped up the sauce with my focaccia .
I thought the chef played with contrasts in taste and textures, crispy falafel and cucumber with rich creamy Greek yogurt, coffee toffee was crunchy and creamy and sweet and salty. Definitely will go back to try the eclectic menu with fresh farm to table ingredients.
We have been regular loyal customers since Baran's opened. The chef, social, humble and friendly does an excellent job with the seasonings, sauces he uses on the dishes he prepares. About every month the menu changes. The owners and their staff (family the first corkage is $25, the second is $35.
I wish Baran's a very successful, fruitful and prosperous future, they have earned it!
Wonderful experience! We'll be back that's for sure!!
Love this place, alway a great meal and menu changes all the time.
Great food creations, exceptionally prepared!
I’ve visited Baran’s every few months for the last year and always had a great meal.
Excellent food and a casual, understated atmosphere, with a nice energy level. Have been hearing for years about Baran's and have walked by a million times, but finally made it for an anniversary eve. Fantastic!
Good friendly service, eclectic always changing delicious menu. I brought friends from NYC and W LA . Absolutely loved the dining
Baran’s 2239 is a rare find. Excellent and unique dishes that are prepared to perfection. You might pay a bit more for a meal at Baran’s but it is well worth it. I would recommend this fine restaurant to everyone that appreciated excellent food!
Baran's always has fantastic food and we eat family style so we get to try all the amazing and creative dishes they offer. Funny location but worth the drive and the service is always fantastic!
One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time
Amazing food, good atmosphere and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
The Elk Chops were amazing! Love this place!
It’s always a great time. Knowledgeable wait staff, delicious food and a friendly atmosphere!
Birthday dinner extraordinaire
Great night out. Been meaning to try Baran’s for awhile now. Finally made it when had friends visiting from out of town. Wanted to go somewhere new (for us) but didn’t want to travel far. Barans was the perfect call. Food was great. Options covered everyone’s needs/wants. Service very good and atmosphere very nice.
Only minor complaint (not sure that’s right word) was that the plates came out in pretty rapid succession. We ordered six items for the 4 of us (recommended by waitress). It was right amount of food, but probably would have ordered in smaller batches so the food would come a little better spaced. We had latish reservation so we weren’t being rushed to turn the table and still plenty of people eating when we left. Next time I would take more control of ordering/pace of dinner.
Always Spot on! Superb dining in lively atmosphere. Great wine selection.
Out son’s band was plYing at Hermosa Saloon. Great dinner. Great show!
Amazing wine list! The first list in the US to have Perinet that I've seen. I'll have to go back and try many of the dishes we didn't have room for. Loved it.
They are cooking up some really yummy food and service is excellent and friendly. What bothered me is the effort to squeeze every dollar out of you. Recommending we order 6-8 dishes for a party of four? We ordered five dishes and were stuffed thanks to fairly generous portions. Charging $2 for filtered tap water for the table? I’ve never experienced that. Maybe it’s an L.A. thing. I’d recommend it with a warning that it’s overpriced.
Great for date! Nice variety of small plates for sharing with a good wine selection.
Food was great, service was good. A bit pricey for the ambiance. Food is very tasty thoughz
Always very good when we come here! We love how we would never be able to make it at home so even if you spend a lot dining here it isn’t something you can replicate! Noise level was loud as we were there at peak dining so it wasn’t as romantic as we were celebrating our anniversary. Also asked for an end table but they gave it to the couple that came right after us.
Baran’s is always a treat. Inventive menu with delicious flavor combinations. Great for sharing plates. Friendly service often by one of the owners. It never disappoints. It’s our go-to place for a special dinner.
. Ingredients that you wouldn't think go together result in wonderfully creative dishes
I thought the vegetable dishes were delicious; the brussel sprouts salad and the kale salad were both absolutely delicious and fair priced for what we received. We also had the halibut ($38) which was really salty, and had clam juice in it so was a bit of a turn off as made it quite fishy, however there was an apple slaw on top that was divine; then we had the $46 pork chop which was beautiful to look at and quite artful, however was really really salty and overpriced. I would go back for sure and eat the vegetarian dishes as they were the best and really yummy.
Great food. Best food in the south
Last time I came they were having a bit of an off night. This time, full redemption and back to baseline! Food and service was on point as usual. Thank you guys!
Truly a great experience every time. Have had the pleasure of dining at Baran’s many times and have not had any item on the menu that was not exceptional. Great, creative food and excellent service.
Excellent food and service as always. A South Bay jewel!
The food and service was above average. However, they charged for bread without telling me before the meal. I spent $300+ and you charged me $6 for bread. Lame. Not going back.
As someone with celiac disease in a country that loves gluten this place is amazing.
Been back to Baran’s many times and have never been disappointed. The constantly changing menu shows off the kitchens versatility and creativity. This time the pork chop was a big hit with the table as were the clams. Will definitely be visiting again.
Always good and for ever occasion, special or otherwise.
Consistently excellent food and great hospitality in a relaxed, inviting setting!
The food at Baran’s was outstanding! My husband and I shared the Brussels spout salad, gnocchi with crab and Thai shrimp. All of them were fabulous!
The service was great as well. All in all this is a wonderful and quaint restaurant with a great community feel. Love it!
This is by far the best food in the South Bay. It's a family run business with the highest quality food. They do a great job making you feel welcome. I highly recommend it.
Excellent food with a very relaxed atmosphere. Interssting and eclectic menu with some tasty staples.
