Baran’s 2239 Ratings and Reviews
Overall, I thought the food had very good flavors and was innovative and interesting. I would have given 4 stars on the food, but the fish was well undercooked. The food is very expensive for what you get, in terms of portion size and what went into the dishes. Service was very good.
Food was creative and delicious. Helpful waiter and great service. Took my mom for her 77th birthday. She loved the “small plates” and interesting flavors of the food. Our favorites: bread with umami butter, blistered green beans, mushroom tagliatelle, salmon, fried chicken. Definitely recommend, but be sure to have a reservation!
The food was creative and very flavorful. The sauce on the blistered green beans was delicious and the foie gras was perfection. The service was warm and attentive. This is one of those rare finds, amazing food in a charming neighborhood bistro. It was so good we forgot we were in a strip mall. We're definitely coming back.
Barans is always a slam dunk.
It’s on the noisy side, but it’s a got a great energy. The food, service, and wine list always supersede all expectations.
The smoked/fried chicken is always an essential. While everything on the menu is dope, there’s something about this chicken that insanely good. Order it!!!
Everything we’ve eaten here over 5 or so visits has been phenomenal. It’s a bit expensive, but well worth the occasional splurge. Service is excellent, with a staff that’s knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food. Despite a very full house, the servers are attentive and the food arrives quickly. Be aware that the intent is to share dishes with the table, and they come out one-at-a-time unless you request otherwise.
Went on Sat at 5pm, four adults and a newborn. They were very accommodating with the baby. Place was packed by 6pm. Food was great, service was fabulous. Cheese was pricey for the size of the slice provided, but everything else was decent value. Located in a strip mall, but good ambiance inside.
Amazing restaurant. Food is interesting and delicious. Service top notch. Glad it’s a few blocks from my house so I can go often. They change the menu but keep some favorites for us who love them. Indian Egg and Fried Chicken are outbid this world. I have never had a bad meal and go as often as possible. Nice wine list but you can bring your own for a corkage fee.
We went to Barans on a friend referral. We had driven by it on a daily basis and it didn’t look like much from the outside. We were pleasantly surprised. The smoked-fried chicken, lamb pasta and BLAT salad were so good and Jason, one of the owners, was so friendly and accommodating. We will for sure go back.
Service was great. Our server was fun and knowledgable. We had 6 dishes between 4 of us including the chocolate tort with figs. We all loved everything except one dish was a little disappointing, the King Crab dish. It was good, but didn't match the level of the other dishes which we all declared 5 stars.
Prices were reasonable considering we had a bottle of wine and a glass of wine and a beer that was really good.
Very fun place for a group that wants to share small plates. We were celebrating a birthday and had a great time trying lots of the different items on the menu. Everything was delicious - from the focaccia bread starter to the coffee toffee pudding dessert. There was nothing we ordered that I would not order again - and we ordered a lot!
Tables are a bit close together and a bit crowded for two of our party - both really tall - but otherwise, the entire evening was perfect.
