The food and service were spectacular as always
Waited 30 minutes despite having a reservation and left before being seated. Hostess was rude, noise level high.
Wonderful Food, Friendly & Attentive Service. Pastas are amazing, great winelist and expertly made cocktails.
We LOVE Barano!
It was my boyfriend and I's second anniversary and we had selected "Annivesary" for the special occasion on Open Table - not sure if the restaurant would even notice it, and they ended up welcoming us with two glasses of Prosecco! Amazing service and really great food. Also a huge plus is that my boyfriend is gluten free and they have a completely separate menu for those gluten free options :) Would highly recommend!
Our waiter was amazing! He took care of us and made sure all our allergies were taken care of. Thank you for the lovely experience.
Service was amazing and so was the food! I would recommend for a nice date night.
Overall good but not great experience. Exceptional service and great ambiance. The cavatelli was salty and the pizza was decent but overall it was a good experience. It was restaurant week so keep in mind.
They didn’t bring out a cake or sing happy birthday to my girlfriend when I explicitly made a note about to do so and indicated it was her bday.
Always like this place..solid food but after this weekend I have a reason to frequent it more often due to the fact that the bone marrow pasta is OFF THE FRIGGIN CHARTS. A word to the wise for management. NEVER TAKE THAT DELICIOUS MORSEL OFF YOUR MENU!
Barano was fantastic. The antipasto plate was one the nicest ones I’ve ever had. The portions that you receive on it are much larger than at other places, and it was so fresh and delicious! My fiancé and I shared the vodka pie (SO good) and the spaghetti chitarra with meatballs, both of which were delicious. I could have eaten 10 more meatballs they were so good. The portion sizes were very nice and we had significant leftovers. Overall highly recommend for a nice evening out!
I’ve been here before and the experience was amazing. This time the ambiance was still the same but the food sucked for me. My partners dish was delish and the potion size made sense. My dish (plain spaghetti)was about the same in cost and the portion size was tiny. It was basically a tea saucer of food. I though I was being punked when it came out. It was like a child’s portion size of BOXED spaghetti( I know fresh pasta/went to culinary school), great tomato sauce, a sprinkle of fresh parm, and 4 basil leaves. For twenty dollars it just felt like a ripoff.
This restaurant is one of the best that I’ve been to recently. Food, service, ambience etc are top notch
Best staff, best food!!
Love this place
Wonderful restaurant! We sat in the bar area which had a fun atmosphere. The gluten free menu is extraordinary... especially the pizza a must have!
The food was great and the service friendly and attentive. It’s a fun place for brunch or dinner.
Good but not great brunch fare. Service was ok, but a few long waits between contacts. Had to deliver credit card to server when we were ready to go.
Agree fit for foodies. Fun intimate place. Great craft cocktails
Excellent food and nice atmosphere. Salad and pasta were amazing. Highly recommended.
Vodka pizza and saffron pasta very salty and not great quality
Great place to grab lunch. The Vodka pizza was very good. We were able to grab a table outside which was very nice and casual. Would recommend for a neighborhood spot.
Service was not good, I had to ask for pepper 3-4 times for my salad. Also drinks were coming out very slow, food was quicker. Food and drink were delicious though and the host was very friendly!
Amazing as always.
Great time! Food to service excellent
Thoroughly enjoyed every morsel, and the staff was attentive and very nice. would like more options to keep going back, but everything was simply great. really enjoyed it and will return
Barano’s menu is a perfect balance of comfort and tasty surprises. I always believe the true test of an Italian spot is if the fish is cooked to perfection and if the sauce (tomato sauce) is good. At Barano the fish was perfectly cooked - not chewy when fried - and the pummarola sauce was so wonderful it brought me directly to my grandmother’s kitchen when I would stick the end of the Italian bread into her pot of sauce. I truly can’t wait to come back. Plus - gluten free menu!! I’m a recently discovered celiac who is also Italian so this made my night. Thank you Barano for a wonderful meal.
Great Italian restaurant.
Good food, specially starters and desserts. Very hard to hear each other though. Service improved as the night went on.
One of the only places in NYC where there's a REAL wood fire grill!! One of the best kept secrets in NYC!!! Owner's a, one of a kind; hospitality driven personality who will make you and your group feel phenomenal!! Awesome service!!
Always an amazing, delicious dining experience. Great cocktails too!
The food was fabulous as was my first visit. A great restaurant.
The food was incredible! It was the perfect date night.
Thank you to Barano, for once again, the most hospitable evening. Barano never disappoints!!! Jonathan and Karim, you have great management skills and truly know how to run a busy Saturday night effortlessly. Thank you and I am sure, we will see you again soon!

Delicious! Staff is great
Barano was an incredible dining experience - amazing service, and the best lasagna and meatballs I've ever had. Will definitely be back.
