Nice menu good selection shrimp and watermelon salad was delicious and different. Swordfish was superb seafood pot pie was only good the lobster was overcooked. Presentation nice but hard to eat that way. Needed to put it on a plate. No big deal. Chocolate bomb was delicious One of our favorite restaurants when in town
We experienced a great lunch here.
We both had salads topped with a wonderful piece of grilled salmon.
we love the burgers, but anything we've eaten hasn't disappointed...delish and great quality food
Monday night dinner with friends visiting from Tampa.
We started with a nice bottle of Angelina Pinot Noir to go along with the French country salad and a serving of the Irish cheddar porter cheese that was on the evening’s charcuterie plate.
My wife’s seafood pot pie was amazing and my flounder entree was equally as good.
Our friends loved their entrees, especially the hanger steak and its accompanying sauce.
Wonderful warm and personable service from Paula and we appreciated the manager, Christina, stopping by to introduce herself.
We finished the evening with their tremendous tuxedo chocolate dome cake. Super evening! Look forward to our next visit soon.
Weeknight Wednesday date night started with a nice bottle of Angelina Pinot Noir from Sonoma that was recommended by our warm and friendly server, Lyndsey.
The wine paired well with the Irish cheddar porter cheese from the charcuterie offerings for the evening along with the country salad.
The espresso hanger steak was cooked perfectly...but arrived semi cold. The steak and the au gratin potatoes would have tasted much better had they been warmer.
Likewise the swordfish romesco was flavorful but it and the accompanying potatoes and green beans were cold.
Given the kitchen issues with the entrees we decided to skip dessert.
Hopefully dinner will be better on our next visit as the ambiance is very nice and the menu has a variety of choices.
Stayed at the Omni and this place is close by. Both my husband and I had a fish dish and it was fabulous . Server was super friendly and gave us a great recommendation for breakfast the next day.
food was good, very creative. Deeply overpriced for what you got.
Fabulous Friday night dinner on their porch with wonderful, warm friendly service from Anastasia.
It was our first time dining here and we were thoroughly impressed.
The Brie on the charcuterie was so good and the greens on the artisan salad were fresh and tasty.
My wife’s steak was cooked perfectly and my fish was equally as flavorful.
Nice selection of wines by bottle!
Look forward to dining here again soon and often!
As always amazing service, beautiful evening, sat on the patio. We normally love the food here but they were definitely off that night. The flounder meniuere was crispy but flavorless. It sat on a bed of cannelloni beans that tasted like they had just come out of a can off a grocery shelf. The few mussels in the sauce had little flavor. My husband ordered the kobi waygu burger medium rare and it Came out very well done. We sent it back and it was perfect when it arrived but it took over 30 minutes and I was done eating as much I cared to eat by then not to mention my food was cold by then. So I sat there while he ate. All in all Not the typical wonderful food we are used to at this restaurant so I’m hoping they don’t have a new chef; that he was just having a bad night.
We had the west coast oysters which were a special that evening and they were the best we’ve ever had! Everything was outstanding as usual. Karen
Service is always prompt and friendly. Outside seating during the pandemic is a big plus.
Dinner portions are huge.....I miss the small plates menu that was offered before the restaurants closed. Specials are usually good and interesting.
This was my first lunch at Bar Zin. Gorgeous day. Great companion. We ate semi-shaded on the patio and enjoyed it all.
fish and chips....fish was dry and very fishy tasting. Overpriced, especially considering I ate half the fries, which were good and picked at the fish.
Quality of food had always been very good here, but this meal was a huge disappointment.
Outdoor seating with ambiance and spaced nicely for this trying time. Food was excellent! Server was a little stressed/distracted being the only one.
Fabulous dinner, sitting outside on their patio, with no rush. Ahi tuna was excellent and the portion was huge....spouse felt the same about espresso steak! So nice to breathe easy, as the tables were spread apart, and enjoy a lovely evening. Our server gave us great recommendations and made the night even better! Highly recommend.
One of our top choices for lunch on Amelia Island. Always an intriguing daily special, and very pleasant wine list.
We just moved to Fernandina Beach from Illinois. We love local restaurants vs the chain. We found Bar Zin Bistro Wine Bar to be an adorable place to enjoy fresh food, great wine selection, atmosphere. Definitely a place we will visit again.
This was our first visit to Amelia Island, and we were lucky to discover Bar Zin! We gave it a try for lunch and returned for dinner. Amazing service and food is simply outstanding, creative and delicious!
We ordered hangar steak x 3.
meat was barely lukewarm. Waitress was absent. I will not be going back again nor will the other 4 people with me!
Wonderful experience, as always! Bar Zin is our go-to restaurant. We love the ambiance. The food is always marvelous! And the service is superb.
Menu choices were limited due to COVID-19. Food quality and service were outstanding as usual. Thank You Bar Zin
The swordfish was so tender and moist it melted in your mouth. The rolls were sweet, fresh, and yummy. The service by the staff was outstanding.
Cold Soup, Undercooked Broccoli as well as stale, served Hangar steak with a butter knife??
Two visits in 4 days....outstanding both times.
Looking forward to next visit.
Wonderful burger and fries!
Lovely dinner on the patio. Delicious food and great service.
Awesome Service and even better food
The food was delicious!
Another restaurant we had made a reservation at was closed due to Covid and I’m so glad as we had a great experience and the food was excellent at Bar Zin!
Great food! Great atmosphere! Would recommend to a friend!
Very nice evening to share a family meal. We sat out on the patio and had great food and service.
Fabulous! Amazing service and fantastic food. One of our favorites when we visit the island. We always want to go more than once.
Excellent service and food. Social distancing was followed and cleanliness was evident.
The waiter was great. Good recommendations and truly knowledgeable about menu
Covid visit - place was very clean, tables were distanced, server wore mask and gloves, felt safe. Server very knowledgeable about the menu, was attentive. Perfect service. The food was excellent, I mean really, really, really good. I’ve eaten there before and it was quite good, this time all the 4 dishes were a full star better. Luck of the menu pick? Maybe but I don’t think so - a burger had been one selection before and now and it was measurably better. The AHi tuna entree was perfection. Prices are steeper than they should be for what you get, it keeps Bar Zin from being a very frequent place for me. But I will be back.
This was our first time there and we LOVED it. The setting is lovely, it's like you're in an old house. They also have a nice, large outside patio area. The food was great and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back! Thank you Bar Zin Bistro for a wonderful evening!!
1st night out for dinner during Covid and felt comfortable with table spacing and masked waiters. Wine & food were great.
We ventured to the south end of the island Friday evening and were pleased to be seated promptly, despite arriving a few minutes prior to our reservation. Unfortunately, this is where our pleasure of being at Bar Zin ended. Once in the dining room, we noticed an overwhelming smell, a la musty basement. Debate then occurred amongst the hostess and waitstaff over which table to seat us. A minor kerfuffle to be sure, but the avalanche of incompetence was merely building to a maddening crescendo. Our server neglected to introduce herself; this is generally a forgiven offense, but it proved problematic when she apparently forgot we existed for several minutes whilst she checked her phone (with nitrile gloves on) and completed other tasks not related to serving us or other guests. At last, my wife was able to ask for a taste of a particular wine. Upon tasting, she asked for a full glass. We observed our waitress pour the remaining 1/2 oz from the tasting glass into a regular wine glass before adding about 2oz of wine from the bottom of an open bottle. She presented a barely full wine glass and stated she'd return to top it off once she found another bottle of that wine. This is normally also okay if not for how long it took to find it (apparently her cell phone held the answer to finding the bottle because she spent a good amount of this time with her face buried in it while standing in the dark doorway to the kitchen assuming she was under a cloak of invisibility with other waitstaff). 20 long minutes passed until being afforded an opportunity to order truffle fries and pork wings. 30 additional minutes of being largely ignored passed until they arrived. At this point, we decided not to order entrees due to the inattentive service, and we asked for the check as soon as the apps hit the table. There was no inquiry as to why. The check was stood up, card sticking out, only to be also ignored until I stood up and physically brought it to her. Very disappointing experience.
Believe the wait staff should be more diligent in wearing masks during current Covid-19 pandemic.
Had to wait ten minutes after our reservation to be seated. No one knew what was going on or what they were doing. We were not offered a drink or to sit at the bar even. Only that they were having a staff meeting in the main dining room and that we would have to wait. Once seated the back room smelled musty and old.
