Bar Verde - Nordstrom Eaton Centre
Located on the 3rd floor of the Nordstrom at Yonge & Dundas. Enjoy panoramic views of the Toronto Eaton Centre at Bar Verde!
Friendly staff. Great view of the shopping area below. Quick service and interesting menu selections. Food was delicious.
Price of the wine is very high. I have been here 4 or 5 times, but don't think I'll be back for a while simply due to the wine prices.
They made us stay even when they were almost closing. Food was delicious. You had to ask for bread. But it was all good.
First time for us to try this place.
I should have relied on the reviews where they say the service was not satisfactory.
We only ordered sandwiches but it took a long time for our order to get served. We were looking around but not one food server took notice. We saw two plates waiting to be served, we were guessing those were our food plates sitting there, but nobody took the time to serve it right away - and we were correct!
I ordered a soda and the food server was eager and sounded attentive and friendly but it was forgotten immediately I had to ask for it again this time maybe that was the manager that took a pity on looking my way.
All in all, it was not a good place to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of my friend at work.
Not going back.
Nice spot perched overlooking the Eaton's Centre. Relaxed and pleasant ambiance.
Fried calamari and chicken salad very good. Pasta not special. Tasted microwaved. Very good service.
The person attending us was adequate but could have been a bit more attentive. The coffee ordered by my friend was bitter and had to be changed to tea. We also had lunch at the Nordstrom Cafe at Yorkdale and found their service slightly better, particularly with one attendant.
Great wait staff - especially Michela. If it's on the menu get the chicken tortilla soup. Request a window booth when booking.
Excellent customer service and food. Nobody is rushing you! At the top of my list for lunch downtown!
The food was good the service impeccable. our party had a great time my only suggestion would be to have the menu offer more vegetarian dishes. I had difficulty choosing something vegetarian out of a non veg menu although they were very accommodating but my pasta was very "simple"because of that
The food was delicious and there were many items on the menu that I wanted to try. The service had a few challenges but didn't overshadow the excellent meal. I will be back
Ordered the turkey club and found the bread to be a bit stale. It was dry, toasted, and difficult to cut. Otherwise the sandwich was very good. The aioli was brought to us in squeeze bottles -- the sauce was too thick for squeezing. Vinegar was brought in small bowls. It would have been better to switch the sauce to the bowls and the vinegar to the squeeze bottles. We took the lid off the squeeze bottle to get the aioli sauce out. The waitress was friendly and courteous. Overall a good experience.
Nice little lookout at the Eaton Centre with friendly service and delicious food. Close to the Ed Mirvish theatre so it’s our new go to restaurant on theatre night!
Love that tomato soup! Everything was delicious and service was friendly!
I eat here all the time, usually at lunch and keep coming back because of the food, service and quality of experience. This time I went in for dinner and was terribly disappointed. We were seated and our order taken. 15 mins later a couple were seated behind us. They received their meals in due course but after 35 minutes we had received nothing. Not even an update from the waitress about how long it was taking. Nor during this time did she replishish our water glasses. We called her over to ask what was taking so long. She said she would check but then went behind the bar to pour some drinks. She then took a bill to another table and then went to the kitchen. As I feared when the food arrived mine was cold and I complained. Still no top up on our water. She then went to the table behind us and in a very loud voice asked if they enjoyed their meal and when they said they did she continued speaking loudly enough for us to hear about how that always pleases her when customers are happy etc. We asked for a glass of coke and had to ask for it a second time. When the bill was presented there was no apology nor was there any sense of regret. She called the manager over to speak with us and I told him as a frequent customer I was extremely disappointed and in over two years of coming to the restaurant had never had that level of service. He told me they were short staffed. All the more reason for communication to customers. He then said the meal was on them. I told him we didn’t complain for a free meal but he insisted. We left a generous tip in the circumstances, not because the server deserved it but because we didn’t want to eat and not pay anything. I am hopeful this is a one off but I was so annoyed by the attitude I really hope as the Manager he took the opportunity to reinforce to staff what good service means and how it is expected in a prestigious location such as Nordstrom’s. Even two days later it has me upset.
Definitely a hidden gem.
We were disappointed that with a very limited wine selection, the Prosecco ordered was flat, and the red wine that was ordered was not available. The food was brought out of order, even after being asked which if we wanted everything at once or not, and the coffee was bitter and cold. Considering they were well aware of our displeasure, no compensation was made on the bill.
Enjoyed the food and ambience. The staff were friendly and attentive. This was my second visit to Bar Verde in 2 weeks, and was enjoyable both times. I have recommended it to friends.
Theatre Day at Mirvish. Enjoyed our meal and service as always.
Overall the food was delicious. Only complaint was my steak was not cooked to my desired preference. Also a mint leaf that was put in my drink was quite old and discoloured.
Our "go-to" lunch destination when shopping at Eaton Centre. Soups are especially good and if they have their chicken tortilla soup definitely try it. Excellent wait staff.
Enjoyed the meal and view but unfortunately the fire alarm went off and ruined the mood
This was our second visit to Bar Verde. We chose it for location - across from the theater. Good service and tasty appetizers although limited menu in this regard. We most liked that it was not noisy as many of the other restaurants in this area tend to be.
Pretty nice fir a department store restaurant
Usually good not up to Nordstrom’s standards yesterday
Service is particularly slow considering it was almost empty. Wine selection was great. Daily soup was good. The shrimp cilantro salad dressing was way too salty I’ve had it previously and it was really delicious. Daily fish was curried halibut and was very tasty.
Awesome. “Arby” always makes us feel welcome. Great host
Great place for a lunch with friends! Enjoyed every minute of it.
It is tucked away in a corner of Nordstrom’s. The menu was interesting and seemed like there were many heathy options. The food tasted great. The server was hard to find and not at all attentive to our needs - like drink refills or replacement silverware after the appetizer was cleared and fork was removed. Had to find her to even get the check and then ask for the machine. No foresight at all on the servers part.
I requested a chocolate cake dessert for my friend’s birthday & I also reminded the maître de that I wanted the Birthday dessert & she said she would remind the waitress & this did not happen. I ultimately had to show our waitress a copy of my booking requesting the birthday dessert & she finally did get the cake. There was never any apology for this major neglect in not fulfilling my original request.
The food is good but the portions are small. I find it too pricey and the menu selections are limited.
Christmas luncheon with the girls we all worked together
Yummy food Just right serving sizes. excellent service; excellent menu I would highly recommend it
Great electronic follow up post reservation and post lunch
A bit disappointed because it a birthday celebration and our request for a slice of birthday cake was not accommodated
The view is fun (looking out over the Eaton Centre) but the food wasn't worth it. The bread on the sandwich was stale (or had been under the heat lamp too long) and the chicken in the pasta was dry and stringy. The pasta itself had a nice flavour, but it also had a lot of hidden salt. The servers were nice, the restaurant has a good ambience and the wine was lovely, so definitely fine for drinks.
Interesting menu, very good quality meals, excellent service but the ambience is a bit severe leaning towards institutional. If it the décor and layout was funky or chic, the appeal would be much greater. For this reason it is not really a destination restaurant and unlikely to impress a visitor to Toronto where there are many other venues a lot more interesting.
Regular coffee needs improvement. Food is delicious
It was my bosses last day before he retires. Sniff!!
It was nice ambience but the food and the service do not reflect the high prices.
Awesome food, great atmosphere and view and attentive servers!
All good , people were very pleasant, food healthy and tasty
