Extended family in town
We had a fabulous meal here to celebrate a birthday and a new job opportunity. The staff was super friendly and made great recommendations. We ordered two entrees, the duck and the lamb, and we couldn't decide which was better! The dessert was tempting but we were pretty stuffed by the end. Bar Vasquez will definitely be on my list next time a celebration is in order!
The ambiance. The food. The service! All OUTSTANDING. We had heard a few of our friends rave about this place and are happy to report that our expectations were definitely met! Loved the empanadas! We will definitely be back and will spread the word!
We went for my daughter's birthday, my expectations were satisfied. Top notch service from the door!!! People makes a huge difference between a classy restaurand or an average one, and Bar Vasquez has the best service ever!!! We enjoyed our dinner starting with delicious cocktails, empanadas, Asado Mix Grill, smashed potatoes, filet mignon. (The meat like butter!!!) Perfectly cooked, chimichurri, mango sorbet, guava gelato, flan, chocolate mousse (last one complimentaru for my girl's b'day!!! with nice argentinean live music, not loud, it was perfect!!! I am looking forward for my next date to be happening at Bar Vasquez!!
Wait staff was terrible. Food order(s) weren’t staggered. Too bright.
The food was absolutly amazing! Felt like i was on an island enjoying amazing food and drinks. Serbice was exceptional ams so professional. I would definitely go back as my go to in baltimore!
Bar Vasquez is a solid choice for food and especially for the excellent setting. The price point reflects the latter, since the food was consistently good, yet not great nor especially memorable. To be sure, the kitchen is competent, the ingredients fresh and the service is on point. The dishes do not, however, rise to the next level into the exceptional.
Excellent service and cuisine. They made our family birthday celebration special.
I was really excited to try this restaurant since I loved the space when it was Pazo. The appetizers were really good but I thought my steak was ok- good but nothing to write home about. My mom's duck was cold which we thought was strange but it tasted ok. It is very high priced and the food was so-so.
However, I would come back here to sit at the bar and have an empanada- I will give those a 100% they were delicious!
We, 4 of us adults, were there for their Easter Brunch, celebrating our daughter's birthday. Everything was superb. The Maitre' D and GM were REALLY NICE and friendly catering to various whims of ours. The service staff were efficient, friendly but unobtrusive. The music (Latino) was great, and the ambiance of the restaurant was warm yet expansive. This was a Buffet with various salads, vegetable, and meat dishes (chicken, lamb, beef, salmon). The food was excellent and well spiced, dessert on top of it was heavenly. I am salivating as I write this...Need I say more?
Incredible food, service, and ambiance. Great for a special night!
Great experience! Portions are a little too small though.
We went for a special occasion and it was perfect. We started with the chicken empanada which was delicious. Our main courses were cooked perfectly (rare) and our sides of spinach and smashed potatoes were the right choice. Unfortunately our choice for dessert, the sundae, wasn't available and nothing else was quite as appealing. The wine list had a good range of price choices. Service was excellent. Checking in at regular intervals without being intrusive. Wish they had complimentary valet parking like other Wolfe/Foreman restaurants.
Nothing to highlight besides we wait 35 minutes for a glass of wine and a warm beer.
I attended a private corporate function and was so impressed I had to bring my husband back there for dinner 2 nights later! Food was fantastic-we loved the fact that they serve smaller portions-and the service was quite high end. The ambience and décor is unique and inviting. Highly recommended!
This was well worth all of the research I did to take my steak loving family to an authentic nook. The atmosphere and friendly team welcomed us and made us feel right at home. I could not have picked a better experience. Two of the family members are from Argentina and loved it!
It is a hit for sure and one of our new additions for family celebrations.
Food was fantastic and the service was impeccable.
Brittany the bartender was absolutely amazing. The place is great, but I'm going to make a point to sit at the bar if she's there. I'd go back just to hang out with her. Amazing conversationalist and great bartender. Our drinks were delicious. The food was good, but a little bit overpriced for the portion sizes. The one thing that confused me was about halfway through our meal a different server started to take care of us, then our original server came back after we ordered dessert. I don't know if the servers were splitting the section, which isn't a problem for me, but it was unsettling because nothing was said to us.
Delicious meal and great band - Argentine Tango Band playing in the background. Not too loud that you didn't enjoy your meal and friends. We wanted to get up and dance (didn't have enough drinks for that).
The ambiance is beautiful and the food was delicious. Steak was melt in your mouth tender and very flavorful!
Second visit here and it was even better than the first visit one. The service is great, the food is great, what more can I say? Seriously, if you're looking for a variation on the traditional steakhouse, come to Bar Vasquez. And if you love Malbec, you're in luck - the list is extensive.
It was the perfect meal! The live music was spot on and the perfect volume to still talk with your friends and enjoy the music. The food was awesome!
This was my second time here and, once again, everything was spectacular...the food, the service and the ambience!
The service was impeccable. The wine list was interesting with a good selection of South American wines. Appetizers (salmon ceviche and foie gras) were very good well balanced, excellent ingredients and well executed. At our table we had two different steaks and lamb. All were good but not particularly interesting or unusual. The homemade steak sauce was very tasty but actually overpowered the steak. The Bearnaise was ok but not great. The potatoes fritas were quite good and the aioli was also good. The brussel sprouts were a complete miss as most were undercooked and the lemon/goat cheese flavoring was not mixed well across the dish. The grilled corn was also a complete miss - bitter and over cooked. The accompanying chimichurri was well executed. The flan was excellent and the coconut banana mousse was good. Be warned that their chocolate ice cream is dark chocolate ice cream that is quite bitter and not at all sweet. Noise level on the upper level was quiet to moderate and the south american music was a definite plus. If we go back we won't bother with the steak but will lean towards the seafood and poultry options and definitely skip the vegetables.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and great customer service. Perfect for date night.
Our party of four enjoyed the appetizers, steaks, and the live entertainment was fabulous. The bar needed an additional bartender on a Saturday night because it was very busy and the wait for drinks was very long. We really liked the lighting and open atmosphere. We plan to return earlier next time so we can listen to the live quartet during our entire dining experience.
The food was excellent and we loved the atmosphere. We were lucky to go on a Saturday when they have tango group with a bandoneonist playing Piazzolla, etc. We were seated close to the music and were worried that it would be too loud, but the band was careful not to drown out conversations! We had a wonderful time.
First time diners and absolutely loved the open atmosphere complete with high ceilings, palm trees and trendy decorations. With a small group of four, we expected to spend much more than we did. The menu has large and small portions to choose from. We were surprised by the variety of wines and choice of expensive and very affordable wines. We departed the restaurant saying how much we enjoyed our evening and will definitely come back again.
We had a really great meal. Everything was seasoned well. Service wss excellent. Will definitely go back, but a little later so we can enjoy the band.
Lovely, lovely, lovely. Food, ambience, service, drinks - all good. Especially happy that Cherise was able to save a special table we'd requested. A great birthday celebration with great friends.
The food and presentation were both very good.
Good food, great service, the restaurant is amazing beautiful.
Having been to Bar Vasquez's predecessor Pazo many times, we braved a snow storm and gave Bar Vasquez a try. We were celebrating a birthday and and a great job review and were in an anticipatory happy mood. We were first directed to a table close by other diners but were given a booth upon request (had already requested a booth on the first floor on the reservation form online but apparently was not noticed). After a few minutes, our server (I am omitting her name in this review but would be glad to discuss this person with someone at Bar Vasquez) came to introduce herself and get drink orders. From the moment she approached us, it was not a friendly feeling at all. The rest of the meal was somewhat tense as she was very perturbed on how and what we ordered, even proclaiming "you ordered a lot of food, and I don't know in what order to bring it out". She would reach over and pull extra plates away and was in general miserable. We did love our food and the live music was very nice. We loved Pazo and we love the building. Bar Vasquez is like the older cousin of Pazo. We just wish we had a better first impression of Bar Vasquez's service.
I took my parents here over the weekend since it was my dad‘s 62nd birthday. Although the food was absolutely delicious and totally worth what you’re paying for, unfortunately we were all quite disappointed by the service. It took our waiter over 20 minutes just come by to give us the menus and to take our drink orders. When the drinks did finally come out, they only brought two out of the four that we had ordered, and we had to wait another 10 minutes for the other cocktails to arrive. While we were waiting to get his attention towards the end of our meal to ask for the check, he stopped by every table except ours despite the fact that we were calling his name and trying to signal him over numerous times. It’s definitely worth checking out since it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, but beware of the service and give yourself plenty of time for this dining experience.
First, let me say that the food and cocktails at bar Vasquez were amazing (Wagyu hangar steak and foi gras were out of this world) The Ambiance was warm and inviting on a cold and snowy evening. I was pleased with the volume of the contemporary music that was playing as it made a nice background so that my date and I could hear each other, but our conversation was not carrying across neighboring tables. However, they hosted a live band, turned up the lights and the music became too loud which diminished the experience and we hastily ended our evening. Our waiter was awkward and did not appear to really know much about the menu. It was my first time at Bar Vasquez, so when he approached after being seated and before having the time to open a menu, and asked what we wanted to drink, I said I wanted the signature Manhattan that is part of the restaurants advertising. He seemed confused. My date and I asked for recommendations which didn't really get much of a response. I am still unsure what the specials were. My drink was taken from the table before I was done, flatware was removed while there was still food on the table. Again, the food was awesome, but maybe a little more focus on the ambience and service would go a long way.
There wasn't anything special about the food or service, but the ambiance is excellent, which is why we came in the first place. Probably wouldn't come back for dinner, though.
What a spectacular experience. I highly recommend the emenadas which are very tasty
Dinner was fantastic as usual. My fiancée and I split the chicken empanada, broccoli, and we both got a 7oz tri-tip steak. However, my fiancee’s steak was noticeably smaller than my steak. Not sure if it is because her steak was cooked medium well vs mine being rare. Despite the size difference, the steak was easily one of the best steaks either of us have had. We will definitely keep coming for our anniversary in the future!
We had a wonderful dinner here! The service was great and the steaks were absolutely delicious. The interior was also gorgeous and open. Great for a romantic date/special occasion.
