Really excellent food. Would have liked a wider selection for the dinner entre's though. One chicken, one fish, rib lamb chops are better than loin, et al Need mroe choices
We had our anniversary dinner here and it was lovely. We came early for drinks in the sitting/bar area and that was fun. It's such a beautiful space. The food was excellent as were the drinks. Overall a wonderful experience I won't forget.
Our second time to Bar Vasquez and I was left more impressed than our first trip. The wait staff is always extremely cordial and attendant and they time food delivery perfectly. Haven't had a bad appetizer here and the New York Strip left me satisfied after the Ribeye on our first trip here left me a bit underwhelmed.
The staff was outstanding. The appetizers were very good (empanada and croquet's). My wife had the shrimp which was great as well. My meal however, was not the best. I'm not one to complain on the spot. The NY Strip was cooked perfect but the fat content on the steak was too much. ALmost 1/3 of the steak was gristly fat that was inedible. For nearly $70, the steak was not worth the price. I left most of the steak on the plate. The place is beautiful. WOuld recommend Bar V as an appetizer and drink spot, but not for a steak.
Great service from the waiter, Michael. Loved everything.
This place is spectacular. Atmospheric, unique music (think tango!) and wonderful food. Everyone is so welcoming and kind. Try some of the unusual argentinian wines. The steward will gladly help you. The sweetbreads are so tender and well prepared and the empanadas are terrific. Steak is a must. The sauces are unique and tasty. I just love this place soup to nuts!
love this place. Great food. Normally like the environment, but the DJ is out of place, too loud at times.....soft Spanish-style background music would be better
Date night with the wife. The place is one of our favorite. The service is fantastic except for our main waiter was a little chatty at times and cleared off a plate that I was not done with completely (bread). Not sure why the need to clear off the bread and other dishes while people are eating. I always like to eat a piece after my meal.
Still a great place with excellent food. A steak that is NOT cooked in butter tastes delicious. the fries are out of this world
We had a wonderful meal with the best service. Michael was very knowledgeable to specific menu items as we had several allergies. We were all impressed with his suggestions, and we all had so much fun while enjoying an elegant meal. We even had a candle with dessert! We gad a great meal, but we made a friend too. Can’t wait to return.
James the sommelier was fantastic
Definitely showed expertise and made the night so much more enjoyable!
Charisse makes every visit a true treat. What’s great baltimore dining asset
Valet was waiting at front door; hostess sat us upstairs on railing; great space (feel changes as the sun sets and inside lighting takes on more prominence); fabulous food & drink! SOOO tasty. Excellent service throughout. Too much food to finish especially since we wisely left room for dessert ...yummmm☺. As a result we had 'take home' boxes which we enjoyed over the next two days (still delicious). Our car was waiting curbside when we exited the doors.
Delicious dinner with friends at beautiful Bar Vasquez the Tuesday after Memorial Day. Shared sma
A bit pricey, but great food and a good wine list. It’s a little noisy and can be a bit chilly. But, the food makes it worthwhile.
The beef empanada was excellent but the ceviche was run of the mill. The lamb chops were just okay (gamier than usual) and the Argentine shrimp very good (although the asparagus detracted from the dish). The biggest problem was the service... It was very slow and inattentive. We were along for a long time before the waiter first came over, the drink order took a very long time to be delivered, we didn't get table bread until the entrees arrived (which may be the restaurant's policy but it didn't work for us), and we rarely saw the waiter (the bussing staff did a good job with our water glasses, though).
The band added to the ambiance (and was part of the reason we selected the restaurant) and were very good.
Overall, the restaurant was good but, given the reputation and price point, we expected far more than good.
Had a great evening celebrating our Anniversary. Food was great, service was good. Will definitely return
Fantastic vibe music and experience!!! New favorite!
Can’t say enough good things about this place - the menus changing every day, the quality of the vast array of excellent dishes, the ambiance and music, the cocktails are always sharp, the wine list is rangy and perfect for any wine lover, the impeccable service, and the list goes on ... dynamic and fun ... always ... thanks for being consistent and always bringing it
My husband and I were celebrating a delayed anniversary with friends. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The food amazing and it was a lovely evening all around. We will most definitely be back soon!
Great handcrafted cocktails at the bar. The salmon belly ceviche and filet tartare appetizers were fantastic. The ribeye and New York strip entrees were good but were priced like a Morton’s and didn’t measure up from a flavor or preparation perspective. The atmosphere is great and I would definitely come here on a date. I would just skip the steaks and try some of the other more inventive menu choices.
Very nice for a special occasion. Fantastic service and really nice ambiance. Very pricey, but food is delicious with many interesting options.
Great place. Awesome steaks for a fair price. People were super kind. I will definitely go back when I return to Baltimore.
Recently had dinner at Bar Vasquez to catch up with friends. Overall, had a nice dinner. The main dinning room space is noisy .... always has been even under prior iterations of the concept... which makes it hard to talk sometimes. The cocktails and tapas offerings are really great. The service, as with all Foreman/Wolf restaurants, is outstanding. But to be happy here, you really gotta be a meat eater. This is what BV specializes in, and what they do well. There are a couple of fish options, so it's not impossible to find options. Still, meat is king here.
This was our first time...2 couples. We really enjoyed our evening here...the live music was a definite plus. Our server was wonderful, the food delicious. The hostess was rude and frankly a little unwelcoming. Everything else was a delight!
Decor and food were spectacular! This should be the new standard for restaurants in Baltimore.
I really enjoyed the food and was honored to meet the chef - would like to had experienced better customer service as I was greeted by the General Manager at the front door ......
Spectacular food. Sure, they’ve all kinds of steaks, but, IMHO, the small plates are the way to go. A generous portion for 2 to share. Order 6 or more. We did, plenty of food, varied & delicious. I’ll be back to try more.
Pretty meh. If you like having front of house staff look you up and down to determine if you are worthy of eating OK steak at exceptional steak prices while listening to louder than it needs to be euro trash dj music then you're going to love Bar Vasquez.
Overall, we had a good dining experience. I was disappointed that the menu had changed slightly and I didn't enjoy it as much as I had previously. I will try one more time only because my first experience was so great. The drinks were, once again, amazing. Lamb chops weren't quite as meaty but cooked to perfection.
I took my mother here for Mother’s Day. The food was wonderful and so were the ambiance and service.
Really wonderful menu with great food. Spectacular help from staff to right size ordering for the table. It is expensive.
Pricey but worth it! Dinner for 2, no apps or dessert, 2 glasses of wine, $150 before tip. That said, we will go again. Food excellent, service great, great wine list, both by bottle and glass. And very gluten friendly. Enjoyable experience.
What a wonderful delicious experience! Our sever was friendly and appropriately attentive. She made great wine suggestions and her knowledge of the menu items was extensive. LOVED LOVED LOVED the lamb and the asparagus!
Our first visit to this site since it was Pazo. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and will definitely be back. We were able to form a great meal from the starters and small plates, plus empanadas and only one main meat for sharing. Had one wine suggestion which didn't appeal, but they quickly swapped it out for a better option. Flan was so-so and would choose a different dessert next time.
Great food, service and music
Fun date night outing with great food and service!!
The food is delicious and the sauces are the perfect compliment.
Although the venue is very attractive and the tango group outstanding, I have some issue with the cost of this restaurant. The food is good but just way too overpriced to warrant an optimal dining experience. Having to buy a $35 small piece of meat and then pay extra for potatoes or vegetables (not all equally well cooked) is outrageous. Baltimore is not Manhattan yet. Appetizers were also small for the cost and some not all that special. I don't think we'll be coming back here any time soon. Not great value or over the top cuisine for the expense. I recently experienced a tasting menu at a Michelin 3 star in France with more exciting and adventurous food for less expense.
My husband and I arrived around 7pm for our date. We were seated in the area close to the band, which was lovely. Our waitress wasn’t very friendly. She checked up on us once during dinner. She didn’t ask if we wanted another drink after we had finished our first. We had to waive her down and ask ourselves. We got the chicken empanada and the croquettes for our appetizers, two orders of the 6oz filet with fries and Brussels sprouts as sides for dinner, and the vanilla caramel flan for dessert. The appetizers were very good, and dinner was okay. Our steaks did not come the way we ordered them. We both ordered a 6oz filet cooked medium and we each received one half piece of filet cooked medium rare served face up and one half piece of filet (from a different piece of steak) cooked well done served face down. So we received two different pieces of steak cooked to different temperatures. I’ve never experienced that before. We didn’t want to be difficult, so we ate the steak as it was served. It was obvious someone knew their error since the well done piece was served face down on both plates. Odd. The fries were great and the Brussels sprouts were okay. We wouldn’t order them again. Our dessert was delicious! Definitely get the empanadas, fries, and the flan!
Our service was so rushed it was uncomfortable and ruined our meal. Our courses kept arriving on top of each other and when we asked to stagger we were told it wasn't possible. The food was good, probably not worth the price, but for $300 for 2 people you absolutely expect better service. The live music and atmosphere was great. We went on a Friday night but there were 8+ tables in view open the whole time so that doesn't warrant a rush to flip tables.
