Not as lively as I thought. Also a lot smaller than I expected. The Taco Tuesday is a great deal and the tacos are delicious! However, they serve it family style which is not ideal when in a group during COVID. Our server was great but the food did take a long time. Great drinks, however.
Everything was delicious! From the food to margaritas! HIGHLY recommend the queso fundito. It is a little pricey but totally worth it.
Also if you are sitting outside it can get a little loud since the restaurant is right below the Morgan line stop.
Overall 4.5/5 will be back.
Seated immediately with reservation. Servers were extremely attentive, although there was a brief gap with shift change/our initial server being cut, but server who picked up our table was apologetic for that miscommunication and made up for it with excellent service. Food and drinks were all delicious (large mango margarita, tequila mojito, queso fundido, tacos: barbacoa, skirt steak, fried fish, cocunut shrimp, pork belly). Although tacos sold by 2, very generous with amount of protein on each and complex flavor profiles. Drinks well mixed and good amount of liquor in them! Their house drinks are all made with tequila, but they will happily substitute your liquor of choice if you’re not a fan (e.g. gin paloma). Food/drinks came out quickly. Sat outside because of nice weather, good ambience, though be prepared for some city noise from the trains/cars (to be expected though). There is some tasteful background music as well. Food/drinks definitely worth the price. Overall great experience and will be recommending to friends and heading back myself in the future!
They served me water in a broken glass in which end it up cutting my finger.
Food was subpar for the prices. So many other better Mexican places in Chicago. Service wasn’t the greatest. Would not go back.
It's a great chill place in the west loop. Easy going dining without any pretense.
The ambiance was nice inside. Server was nice but hard to find at times. The drinks were not the best. Margaritas flavors were off. Both of mine were over powering with cheap tequila taste and a sour finish. Guacamole was average.
Great place for small plates. Tacos are awesome. Ambience perfect for weekend outing.
My friends and I enjoyed the margaritas. Theyre all amazing!
Food was very salty but service and drinks were good.
Disappointed in the overall experience. My friend and I ordered chips which tasted like they were stale...not fresh at all. And to top it off to charge $6 for chips that don't taste as good as Doritos is terrible.
The tacos were good (we got the chicken tinga and steak) but they were so small.
The server was good and took the chips off the bill and she recommended the elotes which were also underwhelming. I won't be returning and will stick to more authentic places for Mexican food.
Can't wait to go back!!! The food was great (highly recommend the queso and chicken tinga tacos), the drinks were even better (go for the margarita, any flavor), and the staff was amazing on top of that!! Great sing along music with a vibrant atmosphere, you can't go wrong!! Was there celebrating a friend's birthday and their engagement-- we received tequila shots and a bottle of champagne on the house. What a great time and wonderful energy. Cheers!!
I love you
This was my second time going. First time for brunch. Service was pretty good. Food was lackluster. And the portion size were not really worth the price. They add cucumber to a lot of things. So if you’re not a fan I’d steer clear. It just kind of watered down a lot of the flavors. Kind of missed the mark on the freshness they were probably going for
The food was forgettable and certainly not worth the price. We ended up leaving unsatisfied and went to Aba to enjoy a nice meal.
Good place for a date!
Phenomenal margaritas, food, service, all top marks.
Got the taco Tuesday deal. Everything was well prepared. I didn’t enjoy the sitting arrangement in the corner by the side door but it was packed.
I was sooo looking forward to going here for brunch and bottomless mimosas. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks, and then they ran out of champaign after one round. The food was veery tasty but way too expensive for the amount of food you got. they Brought out 10 chips for our order of salsa and asked for more 3 times and $9 for 2 tacos is ridiculous. I unfortunately will not be coming back
Our server Mac was amazing! She was checking on us all the time and making sure we were doing good with food and drinks. She also recommended the Guacamole and tequila.
Food was delicious and drinks were delicious!!
I was so excited to try this place since I walk by it often. This reservation was extremely dissapointing. I had friends visiting from out of town and we wanted a fun brunch experience before they left the city. The portion sizes are an absolute joke for the price. We ordered some appetizers for the table and they were only enough for one person. The tacos and meals are so small it's like they are made for babies. Food is overpriced and there were only two servers for the entire restaurant. Very disappointing.
Would not recommend it anytime soon.
This was our 3rd time to Bar Takito and we have experienced that the vegetarian options are limited and the food is pricey for what you get.
Seriously great food with even better service
Drinks are good and look gorgeous but not a long of bang for buck. Small portions and service was a bit slow. Would've stayed for another drink if it had been a bit faster.
Everything was great! The chilaquiles were amazing and the Arepas Benedict were delicious! The only thing was I got a hair in my water. I returned the water but everything else was great. The hair in my water really bummed me out but it was an overall great experience.
Trendy restaurant that seems to have lots of patrons but serves absolutely terrible food. Drenched in oil, no flavor. Even the mojito left something to be desired and was more soda than alcohol.
Staff was really nice. We were still given the brunch menu after 3pm which was very nice and appreciated, since we got there a bit before brunch ended.
Came in for brunch on a Saturday and got seated outside an hour after my reservation time & when it started raining they didnt offer to put umbrellas & didn’t have anything available inside so we couldn’t even order food bc it started raining.
First time but will definitely be returning!! Watermelon margarita was EVERYTHING
Went for brunch and ordered chips and guac and chilaquiles. Food was average. Ordered the glass full of diamonds, watermelon marg and coconut marg for drinks and all were great! Coconut was my fave!
Food wasn’t the biggest portions and was cold, I was still hungry afterwards. But the service was great loved the bottom less mimosas as well as when they started playing bad bunny it was a good vibe. 🤙
Too much for the quality of
The food was just ok and definitely not enough for the price. We ordered French toast. It came with nothing else and it was only two slices. So needless to say I was still hungry. The ambiance was cool and the service was good, but I probably won’t be back.
Great food and ambiance!
Very cute aesthetic, would recommend! Good drinks and food
I couldn’t help but laugh when the coaster sized tacos came out to the table. My biggest takeaway: don’t come hungry because these portions, at these prices, laughable. Could probably have their own Netflix original because of how humorous it is. Prices are, well to be nice, steep for the portion sizes. Just make you come with 2 things full: your stomach, and your wallet. However, the wait staff was great & our drinks were well made.
We had a blast! Service was impeccable...Mac. The margaritas were very good. We sampled a bunch of different dishes. The restaurant was exciting and loud with a fun crowd. We were just so grateful to have the exceptional service after this weird year. Cheers!
We really enjoyed the cocktails, especially the Mouthful
