Our server was fantastic and the food and cocktails lovely. Best view in the city
Had the best time ever beautiful view and gun popcorn!
Food was lovely but service was very slow.
Came to celebrate my wife's birthday and the waitress at the outdoor terrace dinning forgot about us. The waitress went missing for long periods of time. Appetizer took over an hour to arrive and some of the fries were cold indicating it was sitting out a while. The view, ambiance, and food quality was upscale. It is definitely worth experiencing, just wish service was better.
Really fabulous venue, but service was mediocre at best. Over ten minutes for someone to come to the table once we were seated. First round of cocktails were great (The Brooklyn was delicious), but when I went to order a different cocktail for the second round, I was told they were “out” of the other cocktail. How a venue like this is out of anything is beyond me, but I let it slide and asked the waiter to give me a moment to pick something else. When he got back, I asked for a different cocktail and AGAIN i was told they were out of that one as well.
Knowing that I already had to have him come back once after an item was unavailable, I don’t understand why the waiter didn’t bother to tell me every other option I couldn’t order. At this point we were already more than half way through our food, so it was pointless to attempt to order a third option at that point.
Food was ok, but not worth the price tag. I would say this may be a nice place to go for one drink (assuming they have what you want), but not worth the headache of having table service.
Amazing views and atmosphere was sexy and appealing. Very happy with my decision to eat here
Un lugar para visitar al menos una vez en la vida, si pueden reserven mesa afuera
Can praise our experience enough. Wonderful evening. Beautiful views, fantastic meal and wine list, exceptional service. Private terrace overlooking the city and Empire State Building was wonderful.
We went here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we weren’t disappointed had a fabulous evening with great food and fantastic views. Would definitely go back. Staff were excellent.
Bistro 65 was just not what I expected. We were seated at a table where my sister was sitting on a cushioned bench seat, and I was sitting across from her on a chair. As the bar got more crowded, people were pressed against the back of the bench seat, facing forward, to take in the view outside the massive windows. I guess I don't blame them, but it was just too close for comfort as we ate our dinner. I even had my sister place her purse on the floor because it would've been easy for one of them to just snatch it if we glanced away for a few seconds. The food we ordered was mediocre. We went there prior to seeing Ringo Starr in concert. Our server got our drinks and food out in record time, like she just wanted us in and out so our table could be available for another seating. We were finished with our dinner an hour before we would have needed to leave to get to the concert in time. It was just too fast. We weren't at McDonald's!
I have always enjoyed this place but this was the first time I was aware of some ticket program for the balcony. We had great drinks, great food, great service spent the $300 on the tab and stared at the backs of people who bought tickets for 15 minutes out on the balcony. When we were over staring at people head and not seeing an inch of the view we asked to go. We were told we had to wait for until an entire group went first, we couldn’t go out 2 minutes early and we were given ... 15 minutes.
Not sure how much it costs to get a ticket for the 15 minutes but I’m sure it was cheaper than $300 and the uninspiring view of peoples heads. I loved this place, but won’t suggest it for friends and family again- :(
Our server, Brett, was so kind and was especially mindful of getting us out in time for our Broadway show. He even brought out a special treat to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thank you, Brett!
Las vistas, si hace buen día, son preciosas.
Pero en el restaurante hace un frío espantoso.
Great location, staff helpful but could do with more of them. Good welcome downstairs. Must book to get a good table.
Lovely for a special occasion, the views are stunning.
Outstanding place with an outstanding bien and good cocktails to enjoy.
Really enjoy this place. It’s a terrific view of the city and the food was very good. Our waitress, Jane, was so knowledgeable and a delightful young woman whose recommendations were spot on.
Simply excellent! Food, drinks and view are awesome! Great service was appreciated!
We barely got acknowledged by our server. I assume because we only wanted drinks and did not dine there. It took about 30mins to get our drinks and no one ever checked on us. When we asked for the check it took another 30mins. I expected top notch service at a location like this but I was highly disappointed by the way we were treated.
There is a large disconnect from what you told as required and what actually happens Bar Sixty Five at Rainbow Room. Two things are outstanding. First, what is true of the dress code. Second, what is true of the required purchase of food. The dress code is written as business dress casual and that T shirts, hoodies, sneakers, baseball caps and other sportwear are NOT allowed. My wife and I came dressed very smart in business dress casual, that is , she wore an elegant dress with proper shoes and I wore a casual dress pants with a sports dark blue blazer and open collar dress shirt. Except for two other couples, everyone else was dressed in sportswear, sneakers,t-shirts and blue jeans. The night was rainy outside and it did not do well to business dress casual. We felt cheated, missled and inconvenienced by a dress code that does not exist. So, why do you tell people to dress a certain way and fail to adhere to the code. Additionally, Conde Nest Traveler writes the following," Cool, So Who's There? They are polished, well dressed visitors with a smattering of Midtown office employees." Few were polished and most were in jeans and sneakers.
Secondly, Open Table sent a confirmation of the reservation and stated the following," There is a one purchase minimum per quest for reserved tables." This is not true. The couple seating next to us had one drink each and shared a flatbread small plate. They had a reserved table as we did.
The conclusion is that the dress code at Bar Sixty Five does not exist or no one pays attention to it. Also, the requirement of minimum orders for reserved table is false.
We came to celebrate our anniversary and dress properly. We expected an elegant environment with smartly dressed people around us. We expected an high end establishment with class. We did not get what we expected. We could have gone to any bar and restaurant ,which allows people to walk off the street.Open Table and Bar 65 are misleading and not truthful about things.
Loved it, get together with family was outstanding. View and staff were fantastic!
Menu doesn't do justice to location. Service ok, those at reception desk didn't appear to know what to do.
Amazing! Fun time with old friends and met new friends. Highly recommend.
We went on a Friday night - very fun to breeze by the lines waiting for the Top of the Rock, be greeted by a beautiful (inside & out) hostess & whisked up in our own private elevator to the 65th floor. Check in was exclusive but easy - very professional staff - and we were given a choice of seats - took one near the corner with a sweeping Central Park view.
We ordered dinner from the somewhat limited menu - I had fish, son had steak - both were nicely prepared and very professionally served, but nothing really special about either. We did love our server though - very cool and friendly - but not in an intrusive way.
I tried the NY Cabernets and they were really terrible - vinegary and very sharp on the tongue. Switched to a Chardonnay & it was fine.
At one point my son showed my a note on his phone - it said “Jimmy Fallon is 6 inches from your elbow” - I love JF, but stayed New Yorker cool & didn’t harass him 😋. He and his date were headed to the “secret” Paul McCartney concert at grand central station - the management had been sending over food tastings and such for him to try but he was in a hurry, so he handed them off to those of us around him. I ended up with an amazing glass of champagne his date hadn’t touched - thanks Jimmy!
Stunning views, great cocktails and good atmosphere. Pricey but worth it
Great views albeit that the weather was poor. Cocktail list was a little small considering it's reputation and claims.
Overall enjoyable and staff friendly and helpful
A must do whilst in new York staff food cocktail staff everything was just magical
Great evening! Reservation worked out for an outside table. Thanks to the reservation team. Great small and large bites selection. Wonderful oysters! What a location. At the cost of a normal restaurant! Thank you so much
Es war ein unbeschreibliches Erlebnis, welches ich nicht vergessen werde.
Amazing sunset, perfect drinks e great food!! We loved it and would recomend for sure.
I loved everything except the peach salad. There was an ingredient I did not like. Also, the fish was good, but simple. Mushroom appetizer was out of this world! Oysters Rockefeller, Salmon Cones, Crab toast, cocktails and service were all outstanding!
Views were outstanding from the outside space with tables well spaced out which added to the already special feel of the place. Couldn’t hear any other tables conversations or feel you were on top of people and as the area was roped off the views were never blocked off and gave time to take some amazing pictures of the views between courses or drinks. Would 100% dine here again.
Came here for a special occasion dinner. There is a $65 minimum per person for terrace seating but that’s easily reached with a couple drinks and a small meal. Terrace seating didn’t provide the absolute best view since the concrete stone blocked a lot of the view but it was still worth it. The ambiance is amazing and upscale, great service. The oysters were so fresh and par with other upscale restaurant prices. I don’t know if we’ll come back again just because we like to try everything once but it was a pleasant evening.
Schickes Restaurant, Auswahl essen überschaubar. Service zB Wein aus der Flasche nachfüllen hat teilweise zu lange gedauert.
Very nice night with good food and drink, wonderful people and the most perfect view!
It was a fantastic experience! The waitress and all workers were very kind and professional. We enjoyed very much the food and drinks and also the views. Thank you!
The PERFECT place to get engaged. Definitely a moment I won’t ever forget, in the most gorgeous setting. 😍
Celebramos nuestra cena de aniversario en un viaje desde Madrid y resultó todo perfecto. Gracias por la atención recibida.
