They seem to be very under staffed. We waited forever to even get greeted and get waters and then another forever to get our drinks. The food was meh, disappointing because I had eaten there before and it was much better. The waiter felt bad and tried his best to make up for things and even ran back to get my daughter a free dessert when he heard it was her birthday. Until they get their staffing issues under control, I would not go back

Unfortunately, It was not a pleasant experience this time! The restaurant is not flexible at all with substituting foods or making changes! We are paying top dollar and I don’t feel the restaurant reflects that price.

The service at Bar Siena Old Orchard was subpar for us, we waited probably 10 minutes at the hostess stand, with reservations, on a Thursday at 5pm to be seated. When we were taken to our table, somebody else was seated there. So we had to wait some more for them to figure out where to seat us. Our server was either inexperienced or nervous or both: he recommended to bring a glass wine for water for my 6 year old daughter and then proceeded to recommend dishes, even though we did not ask for recommendations. We tried the gnocchi (too spicy), the eggplant Parmesan (too greasy), the calamari (just ok, nothing special) and the fig prosciutto pizza (it was nice, but it was missing either a balsamic glaze or some olive oil on top). Overall, this restaurant has nice potential, the space is very nice and inviting however the service and quality of food is mediocre.

I have heard many good things about Bar Siena and was looking forward to lunch there for the first time. Unfortunately, while the service and ambiance were good and the staff was very pleasant, the food was a huge disappointment. I started with an undistinguished cup of minestrone which was thin and tasted mostly of salt and tomatoes. My guest ordered a side chopped salad with oil and vinegar on the side. What he got was a salad already limp from being soaked in some kind of mustard vinagrette with a portion of grilled chicken on the side which he did not order. We both ordered the cacio e pepe which was a soggy, soupy mess. The bucatini was sitting in lukewarm broth of cheese and butter at the bottom of the bowl and had been lightly sprinkled with parm but no cracked pepper in sight. I have ordered this dish many times in many different restaurants and never seen it served in this unappetizing manner. This is supposed to be a flavorful pasta dish, not a noodle soup.

Bar Siena is always a good choice before going to North shore Center for the Perming Arts. I just wish our app would work there. The manager was helpful and used our phone number instead.

We sat down for a 5:45 reservation and quickly ordered our one year olds food, and then ordered a diet coke and some water. When the waitress returned with the diet coke we ordered (3) pasta dishes (no appetizers - we only had a little bit of time). It wasn't until 6:30 that the waitress came over to say they were waiting on some angel hair pasta, and when we said she could bring out whatever was ready, it took another 10 minutes to get two dishes and the third pasta (gluten free was nowhere in site). It was another 10 minutes to get the gluten free pasta which was not like their normal gluten free pasta that we have had before. It was cooked poorly - the shrimp was overcooked, almost burnt, and the pasta would fall apart as soon as I picked it up with a fork. It shouldn't have taken an hour to get the food in the first place, as other tables around us were getting multiple courses before we were served our single course. Unfortunately, it was not a great overall experience and they need to work on better communication and timing of their tables.

The restaurant looks very nice. However, the dishes are either hit or miss. The appetizer we’ve ordered and the eggplant main course were delicious. Unfortunately, pizza with prosciutto and dates had sugar plus a terribly sweet sauce on it and it tasted awful. The drinks were not great, either. Service was pretty poor but at least they didn’t rush us.
