BAR RITA- Fort Lauderdale
perfect for happy hour. not for a regular dinner. guac was good. disappointed with the flour tortilla. more authentic mexican restaurants at least ask if you prefer corn or flower. overall okay for a quick bite.
This place was AMAZING!!! Our server Alexina was absolutely fantastic - next time I’m in town I will be coming for sure!!!
Love the food and the atmosphere. It was a great dining experience.
As usual it was AMAZING! Our waiter Sean is the BEST. He always is spot in and has a great attitude.
Thank You Sean....
SCOTT, BILL ,ANTHONY AND FRANK ! LOL.
Thank you for building this place! I absolutely love it here. Every dish that I have tried has been absolutely delicious! The guacamole with the roasted corn, I could eat all day! I appreciate the quality of your ingredients and presentation. I can't stop there....the margaritas are phenomenal and the bartenders that make them are super nice! Thank you again! Bar Rita is my new favorite place!!!
I was upset that my table was given away in front of me and my guests and the host did not even fight for us!!!!! Was VERY DISAPPOINTED! I have worked in the food and beverage industry; I would have made sure my guests were taken care of and kicked out the party that stole MY TABLE FOR MY HUSBANDS BIRTHDAY DINNER! I should have gotten free drinks for the inconvenience
Food, drinks and environment were great, staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, drink orders misplaced or not arrived and food timing was off. Definitely will return for a second time
Wonderful atmosphere, drinks, food and staff. Love this place
Our first time here, glad we finally got to try it! I made a 7:45 reservation but came early (7:15pm) to have a drink with friends first. Most of the tables outside were empty so I was surprised when they told me my reservation was made for inside (not by me) and that the tables outside were reserved for 8pm reservations. They ended up accommodating which was nice. Ambience is fun, food is good. We got the truffle street corn guac- delish! My marg was OKAY, did not taste very fresh, would try a different one next time.
Disappointed in the aftertaste of the Traditional Margarita. When ordering, I asked the server if they used fresh lime juice or a mix and she said they use lime juice. What she did not tell me until I said something again, was that they used PREPARED lime juice from a bottle; NOT fresh lime juice. Big difference. Rather than waste it, I added a shot of Grand Marnier (at an upcharge). The traditional guac was good, though I think they should have served more than the small amount they did for the price. The grilled fish tacos were good; however the salad that was served with it (my friend and I try to order healthy when we go out) was too SALTY to eat; and that was without dressing. Not sure if it was the cheese they had on top or if they just salted the whole thing.
Noise level beyond.... couldn’t properly converse unless we were screaming. Voice was hoarse at end of evening. Service was scarce. Food very good. Had to wait a long time for bill. Overall - won’t return or recommend unless noise level is reduced. And service is improved. Service need to be more in tune with patrons.
Great place to watch sunset, sit outside or in. The interior is quite pretty and that is where we sat opting for comfy chairs and A/C. Upstairs has a great sunset view and downstairs outside is relaxed and fun. Good food & great service. Out waiter felt our main course took too long so the GM sent us a round of drinks. Can’t remember the last time that happened unprovoked! And the drinks were quite tasty! Classy! We really enjoyed it!
Nice place , excelent service but poor mexican food. Margaritas should be made with fresh lime . I returned mine.
We loved the restaurant and the atmosphere. We felt the high top chairs were very uncomfortable. I saw many people trying to get on and off. It was even hard for my boyfriend who is very tall.
I had the BEST waitress I cannot remember her name. I blame the alcohol. Lolol
Great hidden gem! We love Las Olas Blvd. but it was nice to dine on the outskirts. This restaurant had a great atmosphere, delicious food, excellent service and an awesome happy hour selection!
First time going to Bar Rita and we had a great overall experience. Food was very good and good flavor. Good value went on Monday which had 1/2 price fajitas and $5 margaritas. Great appetizers.
Looking forward to going back and trying some other of their dishes.
Excellent service and food!
I love the fajita special, half off on Mondays. The margaritas are delicious. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is very charming.
Awesome Atmosphere but terrible service. Food was good, but nothing extraordinary.
Half off fajitas on Monday! Drinks were yummy. Guac was good
Whenever I come to this restaurant I always have a great time and leave with memories. The staff is always on point and available to take your order and quick to refill your drinks. They are amazing. Will be back again for the 3rd time in the future.
Great food at a great value, with a fun atmosphere!
Was disappointed in the food. Quesadilla was thin with only cheese and shredded chicken. Filet Mignon fajita meat was tough and dry. Too many other good local Mexican restaurants to choose from to make a return visit here.
Carolina the Manager was incredible. We were treated like royalty. We had a birthday party and it went great. I already told my friends about Bar Rita and I will go back. Carolina you are amazing. Rich
Atmosphere is upscale Mexican. The food is very good, with many choices. Service was average. I'd go again!
We visited Bar Rita for the first time for brunch/lunch on the weekend. It was a beautiful day to sit outside. The server was friendly, knowledgeable and most professional. The food was prepared with fresh, healthy ingredients and delicious!
This place was absolutely fantastic. I am quite a tough critic and after rea this place was absolutely fantastic. I am quite a tough critic and after reading Yelp reviews, I was unsure if I wanted to come or not because they were mixed. Once again, I am very hard to please but thought this place was amazing. The atmosphere is very cool and hip, the service was excellent, the food came out very quickly and was so delicious not to mention it was all quite cheap. Will definitely be back again
The Monday night special is worthy of mentioning, $5 margaritas and half off of fajitas. we had the combo, and it was delicious . Great atmosphere and good service.
The food was excellent. I think the music is too loud. We sit outside which is quieter but that will be hard during the summer months. The service was pretty good. We like the friendly atmosphere. Would definitely keep coming back.
The corn gauc is amazing!!
First time at Bar Rita. Starting at the parking lot, the valet service worked very well. High scores there. The reservation process worked, though the hostess wanted to put us At a two top, in a tight row in a corner. I could see that the individuals sitting at the next table were not excited about the intrusion; neither was I. We asked the hostess if seating was available upstairs. Fortunately there was. That location was much better. Only one draft beer, Corona Light. Happy hour price for a Corona Light: $4..00. Worked for me. The service was excellent. The menu was surprisingly limited for a Mexican restaurant. We shared a Truffle Sweet Corn Guac; different, but good. Both of us ordered Loaded Verde Burritos. My wife got the pork option, I went for the Carne Asada. While my wife’s dish had plenty of pork, my serving had a minimal amount of small cubes of beef. Both were filled mostly with rice and some beans. I did find a couple of pieces of lettuce. I do not recommend the burritos.
The noise level increased as the evening progressed. The crowd was generally young.
Cost for two, including a generous tip: $80.
I will probably not return. It was okay, but not great. I can now say that I have been there and done that.
The food was real good with a creative twist. Has nice comfortable seating and surroundings. The hostess was a bit aloof with our reservations, we asked for upstairs, but was refused telling us that all the seats were taken but the down stairs seating was not occupied at all. Our wait staff had a "I don't want to be here" vibe going the whole time and degraded the efforts that the kitchen was putting out. Fix the service level and you will have long lines to get a seat here.
Overall Good. Service was a bit lacking, and the music upstairs was about two levels too high. Almost hard to talk at a two top. Cocktails seemed weak for $11 each in a rocks glass. The salad had very little greens and was mostly all of the other items mentioned in the description, not so much a salad but a dish with about 10% greens. I will go back though.
But only if they are looking for a spot that has loud music and high energy. This was my second time there. The first time they didn't have seating available to book on their site do we couldn't make reservations. They had the entire restaurant completely booked for reservations. So we were told that we can sit and order but had to be up in an hour. But there was entire open area. The dumbest thing I ever heard of. So this time I made a reservation and requested where I wanted to sit and they didn't acknowledge my notes. I gave them 2 shots.....
The food was good, the restaurant was beautiful, the original margarita was good, the service was a little un even, could be a lot better, there were 5 ladies at the host stand when we left and none said anything to us. They were too busy having a conversation among themselves. Also the menu does not have accurate description.
The kicker was that they allowed smoking on the top bar. Somebody lit up and the staff issued an ash tray. This should not be allowed since people are having food, I'm pretty sure that's illegal. But even if its not, that's disgusting, I don't want to smell cigarettes the next time I go to have my meal or drinks.
Also there is complementary valet, however they park your car in a white rocky lot, so when you get your car, the tires are dirty, and the valet leaves your car dirty with white footprints on the carpet and sides.
Overall, It's okay.
We arrived early and there were only 3 or 4 tables seating. Wait staff was friendly but service was sporadic. Very slow to get water or more chips. Had to ask a number of times or just grab someone walking by. Food was ok. Drinks were small and expensive. We sat outside so noise wasn’t an issue. Walking inside saw 4 or 6 of the staff just talking among themselves, instead of waiting on tables. Not worth a return visit.
Great atmosphere. Exceptional Mexican food. Friendly and attentive wait staff. Can’t wait to be back at this restaurant. Valet parking makes it even better.
Thank you Janelle for your fantastic service with a beautiful smile! The food and drinks were delicious! We will be back.
Went for fajita Monday. We ordered the chicken and shrimp they were delicious. We would definitely come back!
The carne asada fries were delicious! Good service overall.
