Everything was good but our server left us for over 30 minutes.
This is by far one of the best restaurants in Indy. The experience alone wipes out any experience you will get anywhere in Indianapolis. The ambiance and the pure love and devotion that goes into your dining experience is unmatched. From the vinyl to the tufted velvet seat, and the intimate conversations with both the chef and the bartender was simply incredible. The quality of food and ambiance is breathtaking. With all of that elegance and to top it off with a vinyl listening experience left me speechless. This is an experience for anyone to go and enjoy watching and exploring a chefs and bartenders talents. A perfect place for spirits, truffle, and music that pairs well with anything on the menu. Let’s just say I’ll be dining to have this experience again.
Love it! I need to get back with my girlfriends 🤩
Disappointed that we didn't hear any music we requested, and our waiter made us feel a little awkward... But overall it was a pleasure!
Great experience! Excellent service.
Great dining experience.
Unbelievable food, crazy solid tunes, wonderful service
Superb! Really a sensory -intense (food, music) experience.
This place isn’t for everyone given the music.. but I happened to love it. Super cool unique spot with amazing food. Kind of hard to have a conversation there given how loud it is but it’s the perfect place to relax after a long week and zone out with good tunes, drinks and food. I hope it remains a hidden gem!
Love this place! Very small and intimate. Fun cocktails and an atmosphere unlike anything else in Indy.
Never been to a place quite like this before. It is truly one of a kind. A unique experience and we will be sure to return!
We understand the limited menu, but portion size was small considering the cost. Wait staff was great. Overall the food was tasty and we enjoyed our time.
I hadn't been to Bar 114 since it opened, so I was eager to see how things had changed. I was glad to see that some of my favorite things from the early days were still on the menu, but I was a little jarred at the booking by the need to give a credit card security deposit (with a $50 charge for a missed reservation weighing over the experience). I also was completely unprepared for how loud the place is now. Not vibrant and lively but absolutely headache inducing and prohibitive to conversation. I realize that that's part of Bar 114's attitude now--take the noise like the hipster you are or off. But the music used to be somewhat more old school in keeping with the bar's mid-century supper club vibe, but now there's little of that, and the sound level seems aim at destabilizing you from the moment you enter and forcing you not to talk or interact with your dinner guests. There's even a note on the table that you should just shut up and listen. Does Martha Hoover love the atmosphere at this place? Is it a place that her peers could come and have an enjoyable cocktail and meal? My reservation was at 8:45 on a Saturday, and while I realize that that's *sort* of toward the end of the week for the place, a full half of the menu was unavailable. The beloved bread baked by in the neighborhood was being "retooled," the chips aren't made in house, and there was some confusion about whether there was dessert or not, and the promised last slice of bread pudding was suddenly unavailable. The burger is still epic, and the onion dip was quite flavorful and carefully made, if served in a dish so small that you can't really dip out of it. But we had to keep asking for silverware that was given one piece at a time, and certain dishes such as the blini and the lobster were so restrained as to leave us wanting. Is this what we expect from Patachou, Inc.? That we have to make a meal out of the crumbs that are left on the menu? That our ears would ring all the next day?
Amazing service- we were initially disappointed when they didn't have bread, but we got the potatoes (with COFFEE!!!- you gotta try it to believe how good it was!) instead and were pleasantly surprised. Also bummed that the Brussel sprouts were taken off the menu, and when we mentioned it to our server, they gave us a "too go" Brussel Sprout salad from the restaurant next door as a consolation prize! Lobster Spaghetti Squash was delicious, as expected and the Classy AF Burger was yummy as always. Got Champagne cocktail to start- good balance of sweet and bitter. Nice choice for wine selection- not overly inflated prices. The tunes were nice and mellow- louder than most places, but it is part of their atmosphere. The music is curated like the menu. Over-all great place to splurge for a different dining experience. My only complaint (if I have to come up with one) was it was a little bit drafty, but even this wasn't too bad. I would highly recommend it!
This is coolest place I have been in Indy . Reminds me of Chicago .i am in love
My fiancé took me here for dinner for my birthday. We heard good things and were excited to try it for the first time. The ambiance is interesting. It’s loud & extremely dark but that’s all apart of the experience there, so we were expecting it and didn’t mind it. The food overall was delicious but it’s more of a small plate type dinner so we paid a lot of money and were still hungry when we left. Our server wasn’t super friendly and a little abrupt but overall the wine was excellent and the food delicious. I’m glad we were finally able to go, but I don’t think it’s somewhere I would choose to go a second time - and definitely not a place to bring parents or grandparents!
Great food. Killer drinks. Awesome vibe!
The best spot in Indy hands down . Good off charts . Ambience is everything!
Love the music and vibes here. Great for a date or a couple friends.
Tried a caviar dish (okay) and another with potatoes. The burger with truffles is great.
I love to visit anytime I'm in Indy.
Fantastic spot with great food and drinks, quaint ambience and killer music. Highly recommend for a special occasion/date night.
we discovered this speakeasy-like little place in a Forbes magazine article about cool new places in Indy. It lived up to the praise! First it's discrete and difficult to even find the entrance without careful scrutiny of the building front (hint: it's to the right of the adjacent Neapolitan pizzeria), as the front door isn't labeled and the windows don't allow you to see inside. It's tiny, rather dark and very intimate, as all illumination comes from a single candle on each table. The sound system is as advertised, meaning audiophiles will enjoy the quality and variety of music, all said to be produced from vinyl. The cocktail list is very imaginative though the wine list rather abbreviated, as can also be said about the food options. Nonetheless there are many fun things to dine upon so it is easily possible to make an evening here alone, as we did on our visit. Very cool vibe with attentive service in a great atmosphere---next time we're in Indy we'll be looking it up!
Club atmosphere/noise level should not imply requirement to shout order at the wait staff at 7pm... food is not so good that I’d put up with it again.
This was my second time here and probably my last. Our waiter was the best part. Two of four courses were burned which is unacceptable. Easy fix but apparently too much effort.
Also table tents telling people how to behave and how long their reservation last I find offensive. Speaking over that music is nearly impossible. I did enjoy the atmosphere and our server Damien saved this experience
We were first in with a 5:30 reservation. The music was so loud we were shouting back and forth with the host.....
We thought about going somewhere else but wanted to try the burger. So we stayed. My wife used her cell phone flashlight to read the menu...
The cocktails were very well made, nice presentation. I would never order the brussell sprout course again... 10-12 individual leaves.. with some small dollop of filling... just not a good presentation and quantity/volume was grossly inadequate.
We came for the burgers and they were awesome! But I would not comeback just for those. I understand the effort to create an edgy vibe... but it was just annoying.
Wonderful service, amazing food and perfect setting. Celebrating our first anniversary at the same place we got engaged was incredible
Finally made it to Bar One Fourteen and I can't believe it took so long! Really cool ambiance. Cocktails were outstanding and I'll dream of the Fancy AF Burger until I return.
My wife and I celebrated our Anniversary at Bar One Fourteen and we were both disappointed. We made reservations online which requires credit card information incase you don't show up. When we arrived, we were told they had a private event and we would only have an hour time slot. I feel like if we are being held accountable for showing to our reserved time slot, the restuarant should also. Food was good but definitely not worth the price ($100 for 2 burgers, 2 drinks and 1 side of potatoes). Service was good the first 30 minutes but then the waiter disappeared the last 45 minutes. Didn't have time to have dessert or have another drink since our waiter vanished. We had high hopes for this place but I definitely won't be returning.
Best burger ever! A little pricey but delicious.
Amazing gem of a place! Concept, space and drinks are absolutely brilliant.
Our first experience at Bar One Fourteen was exceptional! Corey was our server and he was amazing, as was the food and drinks! 10/10
Dined here once before solo, and food, drinks, and service were good. This time the food was bland, drinks were decent, but the service was terrible. Our server completely forgot to put in our dinner order. When we asked and he realized, he ran off without confirming what we wanted. By this time, they were out of 2/3 entrees. We settled for appetizers, which were bland. When we were ready to go the manager said she would bring the bill, and then disappeared for 15+ minutes. We left money on the table and walked out.
I wish they would have not continued to play the same album over and over. I would have been easier to change it up a little.
The quality has taken a sudden drop. The menu makes some bold offerings, but it's small enough that there's a fair chance nothing on there will sound appealing to you if you're planning on dinner there. The cocktails and wine/beer list are still on point, so it's a killer early evening spot (but who makes reservations for those kinds of things?)
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Fancy AF burger is still on the menu, but they've changed the cheese and now goat cheese is the only option. Unfortunate AF.
Thanks for your feedback. We strive to offer an edited menu that will appeal to any and all. IMPORTANT NOTE: we have not changed the cheese on the Fancy AF Burger or the Fancy AF Burger with Truffles. It has always been Malvarosa - a Spanish Sheep's Milk cheese.
Very nice place
A unique restaurant with quality and class beyond compare.
Best place in town hands down!
