Excellent food, the crudo was so well done. Creative flavors and excellent fish. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The lobster sauce was fantastic. Our waiter was very helpful with wine selection. Overall a great meal. I will definitely be back and will bring everyone I know.
We had a wonderful dinner here! Our food was outstanding, the space was stunning and the waitress was experienced and polite. We would absolutely go again!
We share a starter (black Truffle crostini) and then a pasta plate each. Outstanding pasta, the pasta itself, the sauces, the flavours...but the crostini was really bad, it was completely covered by black truffle but it was absolutely tasteless, with no flavaour or smell at all. I said to the server and they offered us other plate and they did not charge for it. This is good service¡¡ and they made a memorable night from something that was not right. Congratulations¡¡¡
Fantastic will go again...soon!
We had an excellent meal at Bar Mezzana. Great service and they even did something special for my partner's birthday. Highly recommend coming for a meal.
Fantastic food and service. Very pricey, but worth it.
I loved only Crudo and wine. They were very good. Next time, I go there just for Crudo tasting and a glass of nice white.
Pasta is over greasy. It took for a long time for food to arrive. Very disappointed with high review place.
These guys continue to be one of the best takes in Boston. The arrancini snacks are amazing, and this time I tried the crudo which was also great.
Bar Mezzana is always perfect. The food, the staff, the atmosphere - it's always wonderful.
Outstanding experience! The crudo is one of the best in town! Pasta preparation is always very special and always innovative! A delight for palate! Wine selection is great, too. And there is a master of cocktails at the bar.
Excellent service; great tasting food; very comfortable environment
Food was very good. We did order a bottle of $60 prosecco that was completely flat. When the manager (who had recommended it) asked how it was, we told her that there was not a bubble in it. She said "hmmmm" and just walked away. Other that that, the service and food were very good. I will not run back there but it was overall OK.
Delicious and genuine Italian food, great ambience and hospitality.
Delicious food and attentive service
As always, a very solid experience at Bar Mezzana. Have been regularly since it opened and the kitchen is always A+, the front desk friendly, and the beverage program creative. It was a themed New Year’s Day brunch, so service was a bit slow and noise over the top, but I kind of expected that. All in all, I always highly recommend.
Friendly staff and a great setting and theme for NYD Brunch.
Bar Mezzana is simply one of the best restaurants in Boston and it continues to get better. They have expanded the menu to include many new, creative dishes (both small plate and entrees) and always have a good array of cocktails and interesting wines (by the glass or bottle).
I am not a raw fish person but my wife loves / raves about the crudo at Bar Mezzana. I will take her word for it because she is a foodie through and through and knows her sushi/crudo. I tried their arancini and meatballs small plates and both were stellar. The meatballs are those super tender type that seem to have been simmered in the homemade sauce for hours and hours. All of the pastas are hand-made and excellent. I opted for the pancetta and parmigiano tagliolini. It's a great dish with a decent portion of pasta and a spicy pancetta with just enough cheese to flavor it but not overwhelm it. My wife opted for the grilled bronzino, which was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. The accompanying potatoes and green vegetables were also excellent.
Desserts are excellent too - we love the simple homemade pistachio gelato.
All in all, Bar Mezzana is great. You really cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.
We got the tasting menu (family style) with wine pairing. Food and wine were delicious and a great value. Great service! Highly recommend!!
Food was very good, arrived on time and service was excellent. The menu is creative with good selection of sea food.
We were so impressed! I was skeptical because of its location, but my preconceptions were revealed to be completely unfounded. The food and service was exceptional. Highly recommend the tasting menu. We will visit again.
This place is amazing. The drinks were great (try the “Gimme the Tea”) and the food was amazing (try the mozzarella and prosciutto).
Food was so-so. Service was so-so. Overpriced and loud
One of our”go to” restaurants. Never a disappointment. If you like cucumbers ask for Bill Smith’s vodka cucumber martini.
Everything we had was amazing, and service was great too! Highly recommend!
Bar Mezzana is such a fabulous place. We have never had a bad meal here. In fact, every meal has been perfect. This could very well be the best restaurant in Massachusetts. Heather is the sweetest and most gracious person in the industry. Colin is a chef beyond compare. Plus the worlds best human being- Shawna does all the back office. It is a must try!
Exquisite dinner, Exquisite evening. Thank you Heather Lynch and LIsa. 🙏🙏🙏🎄
Terrific experience. Would definitely go back.
Love this restaurant. The food is as good as it gets in Boston.
FANTASTIC food, unique & delicious drinks, friendly staff, and beautiful atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back.
Delicious and interesting food.
One of my favorite restaurants in Boston !
Bland food (I mean really bland!), high prices, lackluster service
The octopus appetizer was terrific but not as good as the fig/gorgonzola crostini. The duck egg ravioli and the pasta with bay scallops were nuanced and great eating. Cocktails - we ordered classic gin drinks and were not disappointed.
Clearly currently one of the best restaurants in Boston. The crudo tasting is a wonderful experience. Highly recommended. Very creative and unconventional creations, yet elegant twists. The Duck Raviolo is amazing. The egg within in prefect consistency. A delight.
The octopus, the chicken, the lamb: All prepared and presented in perfection. The wine excellent, with special bottles from Italy and France.
Great experience. Service also impeccable and friendly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Awesome, amazing food and service, always. Soooo good :)
Consistently amazing experience. My favorite restaurant in the city! The chef’s tasting menus is the best way to have a great meal. It’s easy to order, and phenomenal every time! The staff are friendly, professional, and remember you when you come back which adds to the great neighborhood feel.
I was surprised to get a reservation here at the last minute. Definitely one of my favorite places in the South End. This time we went for brunch. Lively atmosphere but not too loud for conversation. Not a huge menu but enough good choices. I would go here just for the crudo but everything is good. Actually the coffee wasn’t great.
Exceptionally good food - the butternut squash ravioli, short rib ravioli and wild mushroom fettuccine were all lauded over by our 4 person group. Chicken under a brick was also incredibly good, as were the seasonal desserts. Definitely try the ricotta, honey and hazelnut crositini - not to be missed! Easily one of the best meals I've had in 2018, and I am eager to return. One note of warning - the restaurant is very loud at full capacity, which makes it a great spot for a lively evening but not so much for quiet conversations. Still, I would definitely eat here for any reason and save the quiet conversations for afterward.
We had a terrific meal but the service was not what we expected. While the waitress was friendly it took an extremely long time for her to come to the table and subsequently we waited a very long time to order, to get the bill and to pay the bill. For a restaurant of this quality the service was certainly not up to par which made the experience a bit disappointing
