As always, delicious meals and lovely and friendly service!!
Very upscale and modern !
Love the apps!
Great menu value!
Oh and genius list of drinks!
Great spot for lunch
great! love the location
This was my first time dining here and I wasn't impressed. First of all, the waitstaff lacked any type of personality whatsoever. Secondly, I ordered the croque madame sandwich and what came was a sizzling platter full of white sauce. The ham and cheese were drowning in it. Not impressed at all. The salads were okay but way overpriced for what you got. A simple Greek salad was $17 and someone in our party added salmon (which they forgot and had to go get) and that was $27. The thing that put me over the top was I wasn't even finished with my tater tots and a gentleman came over and just grabbed them from me while smelling like a freshly smoked cigarette. No thanks! Too many options in Boston with better value and service to go here.
Bar Mercato never disappoints. The menu offers something for everyone, and the food is always fresh.
Good food - steak frites felt a bit on the light side for a meal... I was still a bit peckish afterwards. Drinks are great and the food is good.
My friends and I went for one of our birthdays and we all were unfortunately sick later in the evening from something we ate. We were surprised to have become so sick because we only ordered a few flatbread pizzas and calamari. Unfortunately, won't be rushing back to try Bar Mercato.
Great little spot and luckily close to my office. Food is excellent, though I did think the menu was limited. It was a little bit loud and it wasn't even crowded, which made me wonder about when it's full to capacity. Overall, I very much enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
Came here for Brunch after reading that it was an underrated spot. The restaurant wasn't busy so service was quite fast. Our waitress was very nice. I ordered the Classic Breakfast (2eggs, hash, bacon, & toast) and my daughter ordered the chicken club. My meal tasted ok but it was very greasy - certainly nothing special about it. Bit then again, not sure there really needed to be anything special about such classic breakfst fare?? Anyway, my daughter's meal was fine too. To be completely honest the best part of her meal were the French fries. Overall experience wasn't terrible, but it was fantastic either. I would consider going back but given other choices for brunch, I would probably choose those.
They overbooked, couldn't honor the reservation. We were placed in the hotel section of the restaurant.
It was very cold by the windows.
Great looking place with excellent service. But my chicken sandwich was way too greasy and to my surprise, only half the sandwich had chicken on it! They fixed it, but I ate after everyone else was done. And the noise level at lunch was unbearable.
Must try their Steak-frites, it comes with truffle fries. Both steak and fries taste amazing. My to-go place for steak.
Very nice restaurant would go again
Good, not great, food, at a good price. Very nice ambiance and service.
The food quality needs to be improved significantly for the price.
Ate here for brunch with our two little ones. The staff was great - brought coloring and soppy cups. Food was really tasty - I had the French toast, my husband the hash, and our sons split the classic. We were in our own little section which made it a nice and relaxing breakfast. Attached to hotel for easy access.
Amazing waitress. The food was incredible!!!
I would recommend, but with the stipulation that it's very loud and impossible to hear someone sitting across a 5- or 6- person table. They could use more soft surfaces to absorb sound.
Came for a team lunch. Food was great, location was perfect for a casual team get together. Service was quite good and everyone was happy with their food. Great place in that location.
Only downside was that the table was a little small/tight -- we had some pretty large guys on our team and I hope they felt comfortable.
All in all, great!
Great food and service! Unique atmosphere and dishes.
This place has no sound-deadening at all. At lunch with just a few tables occupied it was mind-numbingly noisy.
Food was OK. But the noise level.
Oh and by the way, the first visit back to the table should not be to deliver the bill. Water, coffee, dessert???
The fried artichokes are awesome. Good food and friendly staff. Will definitely return.
Had a great white burgundy, but things went downhill from there. The special salmon burger was ultra fishy and inedible. The fried artichokes were not crispy and were extremely oily. We sent the salmon burgers back and ordered a margarita flatbread-that was good. The service was very slow and the server didn’t seem to have tasted any of the food so wasn’t really very knowledgeable about it.
Although the food was delicious, unfortunately the waitress dropped a glass of iced tea on me. She proceeded to give us extra napkins because my co-workers tried to dry me and the floor off. She never apologized and never brought me another iced tea, until I asked. Also, my meal was not comped. One of my co-workers brought this to the attention of the manager, who comped my meal but I still never received an apology from the waitress or manager.
Too loud. Got sat at a table top table with a reservation. Noted it was a Bday during reservation, not one mention of it during the meal. Will not return.
We both had veggie burgers. Service was great. Ambiance was great. Suited our needs for a business catch up convo. A few great veggie options. Personally Id more likely to return if I knew there’s be some rotating vegetarian / pescetarian options - somewhat limited in menu items there.
I enjoyed our meal at Bar Mercato. It is a small restaurant with an interesting menu. The restaurant was quiet, but the kitchen was extremely slow (we were the only people who ordered dinner in the entire restaurant, yet it took 30 minutes for our food to come out). The food was very good and our waitress was very personable.
Cool new spot. Breakfast/brunch items looked fantastic. I wasn’t in “egg” mood and had the gyro which was so so. I’ll def go back and give it another try.
The waitress was nice but needed help. Service was incredibly slow. And our party was super disappointed that after spending a hefty chunck of change our gift cards didn't work. Not their fault, but it was a Visa card and I've never run into that issue before. The card worked just fine at another restaurant later that week.
Good flatbreads, Greek salad, and drink menu.
Rather loud so not the place for conversation unless you don't mind shouting.
Appears popular with the after-work financial district crowd
I had lunch with friends & we chose Bar Mercato because we wanted to try something new. The decor has a combination of rustic with modern chic. The lunch menu has an amazing array of European style dishes and there are many gluten free options. They are willing to make substitutes. The food presentation was excellent, delicious and we had service with a smile! We will come back!
Great Vibe and Great Food
Sadly, I cannot give this place a nice review. We were the only group in the entire restaurant on a Saturday night, so you think they’d want to show us a little extra love. Nope. Waiter was so rude and disrespectful to my friend that we got our check after the appetizers. Too bad, price point and menu seemed decent. But will probably not return.
Unfortunately we waited. We waited for everything. It took a long time for our server to come over, it took a long time for her to take our orders, and it took an exceedingly long time for our food to come out. When it did, it did not come out together - on top of that, someone else's dish was placed in front of me (it was a regular burger, I got a veggie burger and the two were indistinguishable at first glance). The waitress came over roughly 5 mins later while we were still waiting for the rest of our party's food and without saying a word, removed the dish and gave it to the correct person at the table. Very odd. Then, when my actual food did finally come, my medium rare burger was VERY rare. I ended up eating very little of it, leaving most of it on my plate. Not a great experience, and we will absolutely not be back. It's too bad, since our office is right around the corner...
The new Mercato has a cool vibe...if you’re fortunate enough to be seated in the restaurant. In spite of an in-person visit to confirm the location of our table the preceding week, we were actually seated in the lobby of the adjoining hotel at a high-rise table with low back stools. Not particularly comfortable and completely removed from of the restaurant experience. Needless to say, we were the only people eating in there. The host was rather curt when I mentioned having been told of our promised table but our waitress could not have been nicer and empathetic (thank you!). The menu is eclectic and flavors lean towards spicy, but a good value and welcome addition to the neighborhood.
It was good, but too noisy Waiter was very good The bacon wrapped figs and the steak was great
Good for group dinning, great value for money, casual and good cocktails!
A great new add to the financial district.
