Bar Louis is an elegant, stylish and contemporary environment for casual dining with an inventive menu, great cocktails, friendly staff and on occasion live music. Bar Louis’ menu features signature dishes, including Sushi Pizza (which Conde Nast Traveler called "a culinary thrill") and Malanga chips, but also classics from burgers to steaks, fish, fowl and vegetarian entrees. Behind the bar is a large photograph of John Lennon and Andy Warhol by photographer Christopher Makos.

Christopher was great, Food was good, but felt overpriced. Ambiance lacked warmth, room is very stark.

It's great to hear you enjoyed Christopher's service, as he is one of our best. The aesthetic of Bar Louis, is different from the rest of the property, as it's modern and adorned with black and white photos by artist/photographer Christopher Makos on the walls. I understand it's not necessarily everyone's taste. I hope you'll try our sister restaurant 403 Broad, with it's inviting fireplaces and colorful art by Jimmy Sheehan on the walls.

My only complaint is that the beer list has gone from fantastic a few years ago, to good when it "downsized" to mediocre now. There are 3-4 outstanding choices, but there ought to be more, to match the quality of the rest of the operation. especially more complex ales and stouts. Also there is little or no attention paid to using the correct glass with a given beer. That is, we beer snobs would like to be catered to just a bit.

Thank you for your comments and duly noted about our beer selection. We love beer snobs even if we can't always satisfy them. Our beer selection is greater at our sister restaurant next door, 403 Broad and you'll find the beers served in a wider variety of glassware. At Bar Louis, our space is limited, thus it's true you sometimes get the beer in the wrong glassware. Stay tuned for a a revised beer list for the spring, as it is constantly evolving. Our only issue was that a menu item was changed/removed and it did not seem that we could even get it as a substitute. Other than that, everything was very good.

Great Dinner! Went on a Monday for their Vietnamese Cultural Cuisine Night. Had a great meal from the specialty menu and also ordered some of our favorites from the regular menu as well. The specials were exquisite and our service was perfect. The server was attentive and unobtrusive. It was a wonderful experience.

This is a truly lovely place in an area of PA that is fairly low on luxury but the food here should be commensurate with the property and it just isn't. I have done lunch and brunch here before submitting a review to see if I came on an off day but sadly, the food was not great either time and the kitchen was slow. I hope changes can be made to bring this up to a 5-star experience. I selected that I would recommend purely due to the ambiance.

Greeted and sat by the bartender on Saturday night. He was friendly, informative and pleasant to talk to. The server, however, was not very friendly, not attentive and spent a lot of his time hanging out at a table that appeared to be coworkers or friends. Food was not well seasoned and both the duck wings and my Medium Rare strip steak were overcooked. Cocktails were good and I would go back for a drink at the bar, but that would be all.

Cool vibe. Super loud bar area. Not sure why they sat us there. Plenty open tables on the back. The tables are really wide so between the bar noise and the distance it was impossible to hold a conversation. Service was very nice though. Checked in at the right time. Drinks were good with reasonable prices.

Kind of French Menu? Lyonnaise salad was delicious. Cheese platter was ok. Stale baguette. Steak frites was tasty but cooked unevenly. My wife had a pasta dish that was really muddy. Too many conflicting flavors to a fresh pasta to support.

I’ll definitely give the place another try. The people and the atmosphere are worth the second chance.

We were quite early for our reservation but were made to feel totally welcome and were seated at the table of our choice. Thank you! I had the California Pizza: the food was vibrant! absolutely fresh and perfectly cooked - the small downside was that I found the mayo?/sauce? too heavy and it distracted from the beautiful fresh flavors of the crab/avocado/etc toppings. Nothing wrong, just my preference, and it didn't stop me from enjoying the whole thing. We had the trout appetizer - very special and love that hat-tip to the local specialty. My son had the Steak Frites. He used to be a waiter and is now a lawyer, so he is highly tuned to all of this... He loved the ambience, the service, and he loved his meal and thought the truffle oil was handled beautifully on his fries. There was a little gristle in his steak. I had to ask twice for a glass of ice. The wine selection was perfect for the occasion, but I found the wine pouring to be unnecessarily shy - be more generous with your serving by 1/4 cup! We loved our experience and my son was impressed with the restaurant, with Hotel Fauchere and with Milford! It was his first time visiting me in Milford and thanks to you I think he'll be back. lol. We had a great time. Everyone was extremely gracious and friendly - bartender, wait staff. Thank you for a great night out.

I was surprised to see the quality of the food went down a bit. I went two years ago and it was amazing. This time not so much. The oyster stuffing was very dry and crumbly. The dark turkey meat was just a lot of bits of turkey in gravy, the corn muffins were super dry and not buttery at all. The Mac and cheese needed salt. The string beans left a lot to be desired. Now for the good stuff. The white meat turkey was delicious, the mashed potatoes were to die for and the chocolate pie was delish. They have this staple drink called the soltise margarita which was ok this year. Was missing it's usual bite on the jalapeno. We saw that the server was preoccupied (chatting) and not really giving our drinks much thought. I wouldn't mind the chatting it up if we get a drink with a kick. The service though is wonderful. Staff there is always very friendly, warm and inviting. So I will give them another try. You never know maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen. But overall we had a really nice time.

Some guests prefer one that more mild though, so if you prefer the kick, I hope you'll share that with your server next time. My wife, our two daughters, and I had a lovely meal out on the porch with the Bar Louis menu. The "sushi pizza" is to die for--it could have been our main course. My kids shared a delicious turkey burger and fries, my wife had exquisite scallops over polenta, and I had a tender, cooked-to-perfection steak. Aldo, our server, was attentive and had a wonderful attitude. We'll be pleased to eat again at the Bar Louis when we're back visiting Milford.

We visited on a Tuesday night when we wouldn't necessarily expect the finest quality meal and were happily surprised. The Lavender Lemon Collins cocktail was tart and tasty, the French Onion Soup flavorful and cheesy, and the Deviled Eggs were special, topped with caviar and chives. Our entrees were the Duck Breast and the Day Boat Scallops. The duck was finished with black sesame, blueberries and farro, tasty and perfectly tender. The scallops were perfectly cooked and nicely accompanied by blackened swiss chard, onion and a bed of potato puree. To conclude a lovely meal we chose the Profiteroles filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with blueberries, candied pistachios and chocolate sauce. They were the best we have had, fresh and not soggy. Although the wait staff started out slow, they were quite attentive, refilling drinks and clearing the table promptly. The ambience was a bit plain but the photos of celebrity guests throughout the hotel's history were fascinating. All in all, a wonderful evening filled with fine food and drink.

We ended up dining on the Porch, but the menu is the same as Bar Louis—extraordinarily good. We had the steak frites and sushi pizza. Can’t wait to go back and have them again. Hopefully we’ll be lucky enough to stay at the hotel next time. This is a special “foodie” experience—not to be missed if you find yourself in Milford.

This was a wonderful stop on our trip from Pittsburgh to Boston. Loved their chips, mussels and dessert - homemade cookies with ice cream. We were on the porch for lunch. Very friendly - even brought us information on the area ( we had never been)

Slow service cold salty burgers.Ordered medium rare got served well done server hard to find took an hour to get the meal we ordered burger and fries the fries were like fast food fries that were cold . And the burgers were very salty. Not up to Bar Louis standards or even a fast food restaurant standards for that matter

We enjoyed our meal greatly -- we had the steak frites and the squid, with creme brulee for dessert. Everything was beautifully prepared and tasty. The ambiance is very appealing with the light-colored paneled walls and B&W candid photos of Andy Warhol and other celebs. I'd definitely like to dine here again -- the sushi pizza seems to be universally loved in these parts.

For the town of Mikford where its slim pickens the restaurant is very good. Service was just ok we waited a very long time for someone to come over and take our
