While we do offer reservations each night, we save half the room for walk-ins too. Come on by! | Bar Kabawa is a wine and daiquiri bar from Chef Paul Carmichael and Momofuku celebrating the flavors of the Caribbean in the heart of the East Village. Drawing inspiration from Chef Paul's culinary journey, the menu features daiquiris, wines by the glass, and a compact list of patties and raw bar bites. Our party of four totally enjoyed our evening of drinks, small bites and patties. Greeted warmly at the door, you immediately feel the energy of the relatively small space. The drinks are creative and delicious, as is the food which paired perfectly. Our appetites were definitely satisfied. High praise to all the wait staff, with just the right amount of friendly and great service. The patties ruled, but we especially liked the Royal Red Shrimp and Solomon Gundy. We're now eager to try the restaurant.

We enjoyed the creative food. Unfortunately, our group was seated at a table far too small for our reserved party of 5, half the short menu was unavailable, and no one told us the kitchen was closing until it was too late. Service was generally slow and inattentive. The team tried to make it up to us, but they brought only a tiny bowl of rice and beans for 5 people to share as their gesture. I was disappointed in my experience.

THIS. IS. WHAT. THE. WORLD. NEEEEEEEEEEDS!!!! OMG!!! From Kennedy and her incredible energy to Pepper at Bar, no less THE MAESTRO Chef Carmichael there making patties from GOD??? More THIS, less EVERYTHING ELSE!!!!!!! This is absolutely core of what I’m looking for when I’m seeking joy. Dancehall and Dub. Patties with memories of Crown Heights post King Addis Soundsystem Nights are given a crust that rivals laminated pastries from the greatest Boulangeries in Paris. The cocktails are quite literally my kryptonite. Every luscious Rum potion was better than the next. The Floridita is…. The greatest Hemmingway Daiquiri…. Sno Cone!!!!!! Nothing could’ve prepared me for that Piña Colada!!!!!!!! I… would have adhered myself to the furniture and never left, if I did not have assemblance of a conscience and wanted to give somebody else a turn. Bless this incredible please I can’t wait to try the restaurant next-door and have my mind completely shattered.

Took very long for drinks to come out (after our food came out). Patties were very expensive - 1 patty for $20 and they were mostly breading with little filling.

The energy here is just: Pow! Loved the compact size and the upbeat, delightful staff (and music). We also enjoyed every one of the uniquely wonderful rum-based drinks we tried. Didn't have much food on this visit, but what we did order was fantastic. Looking forward to diving further into the menu next time.

This was our best meal of our trip. Did not expect what we experienced. Amazing service and food I’m still thinking about a month later. We will be back in October and already planning a dinner back at Bar Kabawa. Do not miss this gem!

I booked Bar Kabawa on the belief it was actually Kabawa, the restaurant, so I was surprised to arrive and be moved to the bar next door and not be able to get the full dinner menu experience. The food is very pastry and patties and Caribbean flavor oriented, Pastries are very fluffy and flavourful, but you will not fee like you've had a meal and they are quite expensive. Service was correct and gracious.

Everyone we encountered last evening was very attentive and kind! We definitely come back for food and vibes. The basil cocktail is a much try!

Bar Kabawa is a fun, funky addition to the Momofuku group. The drinks are fresh, well made, and strong, and the bar snacks pair well. Looking forward to popping in again for a drink and a bite!
