Had the most fabulous birthday dinner with the girls at Bar Japonais, and honestly, we're still talking about it. From the moment we sat down, our server Devonte made the evening unforgettable. After my friend casually mentioned it was my birthday, Devonte magically appeared with bubbly that was so smooth and light, we meant to ask what it was so we could make it our official celebration sip (aka girls' night fuel). A mystery we intend to solve on our next visit. Devonte guided us through the menu. Standouts? The salmon hand roll — generous and satisfying. The spicy tuna maki? A flavor bomb. The chicken and steak skewers were juicy perfection. Only slight miss was the tempura — a bit meh, so next time we’re doubling down on the spicy edamame. Dessert? Yes, we ordered all three. Because birthdays. The unanimous winner was the chocolate cake, which was light, refreshing, and dreamy. Oh, and Devonte? He sang happy birthday when the desserts came out. A server and a performer! We’re already plotting our next reservation, whether it’s for another big celebration or just a weeknight lychee cosmo (shout-out to the bartenders for mixing magic).

Too loud! It took away from the omakase experience. Though we had a table in the corner, the restaurant is one big room. Unfortunately, this is not a place to “dine,” though the food and service was 5-star.

Ordered the omakase menu, which was good. The decor is primarily black including the plates. Food looks much better on white plates.

This restaurant was an excellent place for a BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION! We came at HAPPY HOUR and shared various appetizers. I had to drive home so I got a MOCKTAIL - very flavorful. We enjoyed each other's company, and traded stories. It was a lovely EVENING.

Food was delicious, but there were ants on the adjacent wall and on our table. We told the manager about it and they offered to reseat us, and said they'd take care of the ant problem after service ended for the night. Our server was great and very attentive.
