A gem for food and service.
They chef is accommodating to all requests.
I always love bar italia, stacey and everyone was excellent
Our first time , definitely not our last.
From the moment you arrive every body makes you feel that they’re happy to see you . The food is wonderful, and the team is very professional.
The decor is up to date and very relaxing.
A wonderful restaurant.
Must make a reservation.
Bar Italia is “our place” in Manhattan. We stay nearby and will often have dinner on our first evening, before theater performances that evening or the next day. Today we had an outstanding burrata special. Maggie had the pesto risotto special and I enjoyed one of the best veal piccata dishes I’ve had. Our regular waiter Antonio recommended a fabulous Amarone. And best of all, we had nearly two hours of unhurried pleasure at our table. It would be easy to imagine we were in a trattoria in Italy.
Bar Italia has a very good service and ambiance. Food is very good.
Tasteless food- do not recommend.
I always enjoy going to Bar Italia both because the menu is varied and delicious with many appealing choices but also because the service is always most pleasant and attentive. I was entertaining a guest
at my last visit and delighted with all aspects of our experience.
I absolutely hate raving about this delightful charm of a restaurant with delicious food and attentive charming servers. If the secret gets out then, well it will become so popular and for now its loveliness is a delicious secret.
Lost all of its value. I was a regular customer for its great value. Food was good (not excellent) but prices were reasonable and the ambiance an location outstanding. It was the young brother of Nello (the chic and very expensive restaurant at one block away). To my surprise Bar Italia decreased the quality of the food and is now so expensive you may better go to Marea (best Italian in NY). The pasta of the day (tagliatelle al fungi) had no flavor (other than olive oil) and the veal chop just fine.
Hands down one of our favorite Italian restaraunts! If we are in the city, we will not miss an opportunity to dine at Bat Italia.
Us with friend
Special thanks to Tony and Mircea, they are the best.
Always nice to have lunch
The mushroom risotto was magnificent
Once again, Bar Italia does not disappoint! It is fantastic from the espresso to the meal to the service! I recommend the tagliatelle and the spaghetti carbonara!
Too much money for a whole lot of meh. The service is mediocre and waitstaff is combative. For the prices I paid, I wanted something more special than bland. The cocktails are good, if they remember to place your order, and it’s somewhere that just isn’t worthy of making a point to go to. Pretty bummed....
Great service and food! Would definitely go back
Superb cocktails, brilliant food and awesome gathering place.
Amazing experience! Definitely order a tequila martini!
Beat salad was partially frozen
Average authentic italian food. Service was good. Think there is a disconnect of expectations relative to reality. They have to improve the key product which is authentic italian food.
Food was exceptional. Gluten free options were amazing. Best GF pizza in the world!!!
The service was horrible and rude. I was upsetting about the restaurant seating and bad attitude, so end up left the restaurant went to another one to dinner... but they lied saying was Me No show,, I was there 6:30 sharp, but they don’t have any table for me , and been very rude, so we left ... they asked my last name so they knew I was there ... liar
Service is extremely confused with many people working in a narrow space and not much clear organization. The vibe goes from snobby to friendly. The prices are a bit high...
Nice atmosphere and attentive service. The food was very good
Most disorganized restaurant I’ve been to especially up front
Lovely management and great servers. Food was great and the atmosphere was lively
Definitely give it a try
Delightful. Very good food. Great service! Perfect ambiance!!
Burrata mozzarella was suggested as an appetizer ! - it was just ok and cost $30. That is overpriced even for Madison Avenue.
Wonderful food and service. Highly recommend. Great location.
Love afternoon long lunches here sitting by the open doors people watching along Mad Ave.
The food was amazing!
Great Tuna Salad!!
Delicious, real Italian food in a welcoming atmosphere.
Nothing special for an Italian people, really expencive.....
My favorite in NYC!
It is an extremely noisy restaurant. Food is ok, nothing special. Service is a little slow, but ok. Tables are very tight.
I've been here several times before and loved the food and the place-- this time, although the service was polite, the food was flat out terrible. First off, the bread was slightly stale. The salad was ok, quite fresh. But then things dived downhill-- in a simple dish of pasta with mushrooms, there were about 4 mushrooms on top of a bowl of glued-together pasta that must have been pre-set up and sitting on a warming table for hours to become so glued together you could not jackhammer out a strand of pasta. It was literally like one solid mass of congealed leather, the worst basic pasta I have ever seen served anywhere, ever. This is really unforgiveable in any restaurant-- or home, for that matter! My friend had veal with "risotto." the "risotto" was like basic white Uncle Ben's rice and flavorless with zero of the creamy texture that risotto is supposed to have. . She barely touched her veal and left most of her meal on the plate. Mine was simply physically inedible. The bill for dinner for 2 was in the $200 range, including one glass of wine. Ugh! I should have complained on the spot, but I had a guest and did not wish to cause discomfort. Caveat emptor!
Fantastic food and service. Wonderful specials. Had a wonderful lunch.
