The old is celebrated in new ways at Bar George, a modern-day rendezvous set in the grand heritage home once belonging to Sir George Stephen.     Took a very long time for everything. Coffee took a long time toast we ordered came as we were pretty much finished. Was very expensive at $50 plus per for brunch.

    Service was excellent, we were six, three of us were very happy with our choice ( duck confit with couscous); however the other three were not impressed with their choices! Especially the vegetarian option did not look appetizing. I had looked at the menu online the day before and because of the Grand Prix the prices were augmented! Which I find shameful.

    The atmosphere was once in a lifetime. The service was impeccable and the flow had a great cadence to it! It’s a must visit!

    Bonjour, Quelle excellente initiative que l'installation d'un écran protecteur au-dessus des convives sur la terrasse ! Cela donne l'impression de déguster un repas sans être trop exposé au contexte de la rue. Bravo ! Pour le reste, le Bar George est un incontournable à Montréal. Merci !

    My husband and I went there for dinner. My husband got the Beef Wellington and it was great. But I ordered the rigatoni with Burrata and it was so bland, less than lukewarm and completely lacking any flavor. And it cost $48 dollars for about 12 rigatoni in a sea of bland cream sauce. How they decided to charge $48 for something that had about $6 of ingredients is a mystery to us. The place is gorgeous, but the food is not to the level one would expect. Service was very good, so no dings at all on the servers.

    La nourriture etait bonne. J’ai commandé le boeuf wellington, le serveur bous dit que ca va prendre 25 mins minimum donc on commande une entrée a partagé. Et 7 mins plus tard il arrive avec le plat principale. Pas impressionné du service.

    Firstly, it’s a beautiful setting in an old mansion. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated promptly for our reservation. From here, things went downhill as we were ignored by waiter, Maxime, for 15-20 minutes, only for a brusque greeting of “do you want a drink” no apology for the delay. This ruined the experience out of the gate, and left us with little desire to spend additional time or money at this establishment. The cocktail we ordered arrived with a good amount of foam spilled over the glass and down the side, leaving it a sticky mess. In the amount of time it took to be served, receive our food, and be ignored by our waiter, I was able to write this entire review… Despite Maxime, being a blight on the entire evening, all other staff we dealt with were lovely, and the entrees (Beef Wellington and the Rigatoni) were flavorful and well prepared.

    Rapport qualité-prix peu enviable. Le service n’est pas à la hauteur du standing auquel l’établissement prétend adhérer. Vraiment trop cher pour ce qu’on obtient. Dans cette fourchette de prix, il y a au moins une dizaine d’autres restaurants à Montréal de bien meilleur qualité.
