The old is celebrated in new ways at Bar George, a modern-day rendezvous set in the grand heritage home once belonging to Sir George Stephen.     Service between courses was slow. Appetizers were excellent, but main dishes were very average. Not worth the price point.

    We really enjoyed our meal on the terrace to celebrate our daughter’s McGill graduation. We all enjoyed the table d’hote. The dishes were unique and flavourful. Portions were nice, not too big but enough to enjoy. Servers were friendly and very attentive.

    Love Bar George...feels like a hidden gem in Montreal! I love walking in and being transformed back to a simpler time. The history you experience adds to the whole dining experience. A spot I adore for lunch and any meal :)

    Amazing food and ambience - however, if you are making a reservation for 10pm know you have to be early or right on time because the kitchen closes at 10:10pm. This will not be told you to you in advance yet you’re expected to know this so I share to save anyone else the drama. Lovely spot regardless of the poor communication/logistics.

    Visited from South Africa and had an amazing dining experience! The food was exceptional; especially the Beef Wellington, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Service was impressively fast, and our waiter Zachery was an absolute delight. He recommended the perfect dessert and was incredibly accommodating with my non-alcoholic drink requests. His friendly and attentive service really elevated the experience. Highly recommend this place, trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

    An outstanding restaurant - definitely the best I've been to in Montreal. Ambience is amazing and the decor is beautiful. The food was imaginative and divine. Service was impeccable and there was great attention to detail. It's pricey - but you get what you pay for. It's one of those restaurants that you dream about for a long time afterwards.
