   The number of diners far exceeded the ability of the well meaning server. Seating diners closer to the kitchen and each other may have increased efficiency. I’ve enjoyed the restaurant for many years, but will be reluctant to return.

   David was our amazing server! The food and wine was great: David made the experience top notch with his attentiveness and knowledge of the food options. I would recommend David to anyone planning to dine here.

   Restaurant Week Fail!!! Excellent ingredients largely in the hands of inexperienced or just crappy cooks. I will give credit that they cooked my partner's steak and the shellfish on my pasta quite well, but most of the rest of the ingredients were either under seasoned, over salted, or drowned in something. I had a house salad that has so much parmesean it was laughable: when I stood up to leave there was literally a pile of excess parm on my chair and on the floor (not to mention the salad plate.) I never knew arugula could be that easily overpowered, but leave it to a good quarter cup of grated parmesean to do it. I had two dishes that supposedly had charred grapes and tomatoes, but neither were charred (well, a few grapes had a 1/4" of black) but whatever effect that had was ruined by them being put into a fridge so cold they'd stated to freeze. My partner got the burrata, which is actually a full salad although it's served as an appetizer. The burrata itself was breaded and deep fried and tasted like cafeteria mozarella sticks. He ordered the steak which was supposed to come with brocoli but came instead with brussels sprouts (which he doesn't like and they didn't tell him in advance). They were fried and tasted like French fries. Service was a weird mix of slow (we were only ones in the restaurant and it took 20 minutes to get our first course) and fast (the server removed our dishes after she's place the next course.) The plating was a disaster, which sounds superficial except for they crammed certain dishes on small plates that ended up being really messy. My side salad was almost overflowing on my plate, and my partner's steak was piled on top of the other items. We were really disappointed and felt the value wasn't there for a $50 prix fixe menu, let alone what full price would be! I don't like to pan restaurants but this was no good.

   While we have been to Bar Cicchetti many times before shows at the adjoining Southern Theatre, this visit was a nightmare. We were never seated. After the hostess checked us in she left -- for real. No one knew where she went. I found a table and we seated ourselves. Our reservation was at 6:45. When at 7:45 all we had gotten were waters, we told the staff we were leaving as our show started at 8 p.m. The management should have apologized at the beginning and said they couldn't accommodate everyone and given us a voucher for a free meal or something. We have never had anything like this happen to us at a restaurant and we're old so we've eaten out a lot!

   We had made reservations months in advance so we could enjoy dinner before a show. It took 15 minutes for a host to get to us, only to tell us it would be another 15 before we could be seated. We took a seat in the bar area as we were concerned about being late for the show. No wait person ever came to the table. Finally we went to the bar to ask to place an order. The bartender took the order. Half an hour later we had no food and no one had come back to our table with an explanation or apology. We left, having never been served after an hour on the premises. Given this restaurant is attached to a theater it can be no surprise that most of the guests had a hard stop; we saw many other people walk out unfed. Where was a manager? No, we would never go back.

   It is a great place to have a meal before a show at the southern theater and the food is good but service is consistently poor. Not enough staff. We waited 18 minutes to get water and ordered at the same time. Our server was good when he was there but often was gone for long stretches. We had to ask for water twice and would have liked it more frequently. Our server was also tending bar and the hostess was taking orders and cleaning tables. Just not enough staff and that can overshadow the fact that the food is good.

    The food was fabulous! Our waitress was very friendly and accomodating. Overall, a wonderful evening!
