Drinks, service, and ambience are all great. Food leaves a lot to be desired.
SO delicious, reasonable prices, great happy hour deal and fun atmosphere! Will be going again soon!
The food was AMAZING and the service was great. Will absolutely be back soon.
Amazing food, service, and ambiance! I can’t wait to go back.
Everything was amazing. Love dining here.
PLEASE revert back to your previous chicken Marsala recipe. What you are presently serving is tougher than a dog chew toy and is absolutely not good
Omg this is my new favorite restaurant. I love it so much. Such a gem
Enjoyed and awesome food. When we got there, we were told we needed to finish in 90 min. Found this to be tacky and at first was very turned off. Food and service made up for it though!
Walked in with my fiancé and hostess immediately made us feel like we were not wanted. Took while to get service. Wrong drink order. Dumplings we’re flavorless. Definitely waste of noney
Amazing Food and Service!!
Amazing food and service as always!
Had a great experience overall! The staff was great and food was tasty!
We were able to get happy hour prices at our table. Service was delightful.
The food and service are good. But even on a Saturday night, it's rude to tell your guests that they are expected to vacate their table within 90 minutes. Given the loud and monotonous soundtrack, we were happy to vacate after 60.
I had the best time ever last night with my friends, the overall experience was superb. It will come back for sure!
Great addition to the neighborhood!
The crab rangoons were incredible! It was a great place for some light food and drink with a good atmosphere. Noise level was a bit high during happy hour.
Thank you for accommodating an extra person at the last minute. Great drinks and bites!
Has a very pretentious vibe. Service was terrible. Waitress never followed up to see how anything was. Girlfriend did not like her drink and asked the waitress for another. Was not apologetic or accommodating or concerned at all and still charged us for the drink that had one sip. Had to flag her down whenever we wanted anything. We were handed the check at 90 minutes into our reservation on the top with a heavy implication we had to leave, even though there were half a dozen empty tables in there. It’s like extra effort was put in to make us leave with a bad feeling. Drinks barely had any alcohol.
A few more items on the menu would be nice! Overall great experience.
Knowledgeable, experienced bartender
We will be back soon!!
I was welcoming a family friend back to the DC area and wanted to visit Bar Chinois as an intro spot, and it was pretty much perfect. It is a fairly new spot, and as far as I’m concerned, it hits. Menu is concise, to the point, with a nice assortment of small bites which include a very savory trio of bao buns (available with pork or duck confit) that pair exceptionally well with the Carre Nouvelle, a cocktail that appears to be the closest and much more elegant version of an old fashioned that I have had. Due to the heavy rains on this particular evening, space was limited indoors, and we were supposed to be restricted to about an hour and thirty minutes at our table, in order to accommodate the other reservations. Margaux and her team may have noticed that my friend and I were really enjoying our conversations and libations, and courteously moved us to another table, in which we were able to sit and chat for a little while longer than the initial time allotted. I must’ve tried almost everything on the food menu, and I could eat each item, over and over again. I’m so excited to see what else makes it on the menu moving forward, and will definitely be back for some wine and bubbles!
First, beware that this restaurant’s reviews include reviews from its predecessor, Prathers, despite it reopening in 2021 under a new name and concept. That could be misleading. My rating would be better if the hostess didn’t inform us that we would need to leave 30 minutes into our meal. We had a reservation at 6, were served drinks and then our food (very prompt, good service) and before we could take our first bite, the hostess told our server that we needed to be out on 20 minutes because there was a reservation for our table. So, we were asked to quickly finish our meal and leave in less than an hour from our reservation time. What the heck?? Can’t you manage your reservations better than that?? It was embarrassing to our waiter and embarrassing to my dinner guests to be asked to rush our (not particularly cheap) meal. Fortunately, our waiter was INCREDIBLE and took issue with the hostess. In all my years of eating at restaurants around the world, I have never ever been asked by the hostess to leave in less than an hour after my reservation began.
Great little get away with the wife after work. The drinks are excellent!
Another visit - our server Rumi was delightful and attentive!
My biggest concern here was that none of
Food is great!
Overall - very good but one plate of dumplings came out cold and the bar ran out of kambucha - great to have this place re-open - love the menu and ambiance
Great ambience with the lighting, a phenomenal energy to the place. Loved all the little bite food that was paired perfectly with excellent cocktails. Service was quick and attentive. So glad this place opened up!
So fun! Great happy hour
So noisy you end up with a sorethroat. The food and drinks were excellent
Food came out so quickly, you know it’s been sitting around. Drinks were fine, but food was such a let down.
Really great flavors, but tiny tiny portions for the price. We were surprised to only get 4 small dumplings per portion, and under poured cocktails. We had hoped to love this restaurant, but won’t be back.
Great service, decor, ambience, and food!! Will definitley be going back soon. Great spot for either dinner or drinks
A great experience overall! Went hoping for dinner but I’d say it’s more of a cocktail bar with amazing small plates. For two people we ordered 4 small plates and left very satisfied! Great environment and very cool concept! Would absolutely go again!
The dumplings are fantastic and the drinks were great!
I know they just opened, so hopefully they will get better with time, but the service was abysmal. We were seated and then no one ever came to take our order. We moved to the bar, but the bartender was flirting with some guy, so she didn’t take our order either. Our original waiter came over and apologized and offered to give us a free round of drinks. We never received these. It was also too loud inside. I won’t be returning for a long time.
music was too loud, trouble
hearing the person next to me. Food was okay.
Fantastic food and beverage service.
Exceeded every expectation.
Will be back.
