Each course will have an array of choices to satisfy multiple dietary concerns with exciting additions like Oysters and Iberico de Bellota and an optional wine pairing. Seats at our bar and a few select tables will be available with a limited item a la carte menu for walk ins if you didn't make a reservation.
Check back February first to see details regarding both menus.
I’ve been twice - one brunch, one dinner, a year apart. I liked it, now I love it. We had a great meal. Every dish had stellar flavors. Our waitress was very patient and thoughtful.
Excellent wait staff, intriguing menu plus an excellent special with good not overpriced white and red wine
Great tapas experience. Very autentico!
Good food, but weird service. Everyone was very cordial, there was just several little mixups, and the little problems were quickly remedied, but they still made for a less than optimal experience. Crudo delivered to our table though we didn't order it. Spilled sangria on the table. Weren't given plates until we had our first dish for five minutes. An odd little mixup regarding Carrot Salad and Kalette Salad.
Food was really good though. Carrot salad was a delight. Calamari was crisp, hot, fresh. Piri Piri halibut was a nice bite. Sangria was easy drinking, and I appreciate that it didn't have a ton of fruit floating in it. Worth a shot if you've got a free night.
Only complaint is there were ants all over our outdoor table. Food was great, though!
All around great experience, we’ll definitely go back!
Great new Spanish option - food was excellent. We will try the tented outdoor seating with fire pit next time.
in our chefs tasting menu we had two dishes that both had prawns as their main ingredient. one was 5 prawns (2 people) by themselves and then 5 similar prawns on top of paella. we kind of felt like they had to get rid of the prawns. that cannot be a chef’s carefully thought out tasting menu...
The crab wasn't as meaty as I would've liked. Paella was delicious.
great food but excruciatingly slow and rather unfriendly service
I made the Open Table reservation, and specified indoor seating. When we arrived, they seated us on the covered patio. It was too cold, and they couldn't get the heat lamp lit. So, we got to move inside, to be greeted by a wall of sound. I guess it's hip to be so loud, but I like to hear and to be heard by the person sitting right across from me, not to mention the server. Food was so-so.
The overall dining experience was good but not especially memorable. The service was ok, felt a little rushed. Noisy. Seemed pricey for what we got.
All was great!
Nice space, interesting food well done, good service and good price point. Next time we’ll try their lovely patio.
The food was very flavorful, very interesting choices. We ordered around 7 plates and everything was really good! We had amazing drinks and sat outside in the covered are that is heated by eaters and a gas fireplace. Really enjoyed ourselves!
Valentines day theme is great, but food quality and quantity was compromised despite price increase. Dont recommend for friends.
Friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Fun tapas and small plates perfect for sharing.
We recently met for dinner with two friends and the four of us had to scream at each other all night because the noise level is too high. The food was excellent over all the octopus was outstanding and so was the salad. The wine was reasonably priced and very good. The taste of the chocolate mousse I had was nice too. The place has a nice vibe I just wish it wasn’t so loud. And it was freezing inside. They also have a tent outside with heaters which was unbelievably cold I don’t know how people could eat out there but they were..
Phenomenal meal. Best priz fixe you could ask for. Pairings hit the mark all through the meal. Absolutely delightful experience.
Happy hour menu was interesting but I was disappointed they didn't have the clams available. I liked the rustic interior of the bar and the separate patio with fireplace but we got there too early. We arrived at 4:30 and there was nobody else there. We left at 6pm and it was still quiet. I would go back but later in the evening when hopefully there are more people there and a better ambience.
The food was very disappointing and the price point for the small plates ( tapas) were quite high.
- we had the cod skewers ( 2 pieces- small & bland)
- the spot prawns ( greasy & the Meat was very mushy!)
-olives - giant portion
- paella ( rice was not very tasty/flavorful, Again- prawns were mushy and not flavorful, muscles were fine) and was a small portion
It feels like no one tastes the food before it’s plated. Everything needed salt ....
The server when asked, said “ oh it’s delicious “ or “ yeah... it’s sooooo good” to literally all items we asked about on the menu.... and like I mentioned above ... does not deliver
I think this place needs to majorly reinvent itself
It was my first time at a Spanish food restaurant/bar. I was exited to try the food and it was my birthday. The waiter was not helpful or understanding that it was our first time. She just wanted us to order and was very whatever about the whole thing. I walked in and no one greeted me. I didn’t know where the host stand was. I flagged someone down to help me who kind of found my reservation but didn’t know how to use the computer system. The food was meh. The beef tar tar had no flavor. The prawns were great. The drinks were not very good either. Overall I would not come back. I would expect great service or food. But I did not get that. Also I couldn’t read the menu. Would have been nice for the waitress to help with that.
The food was terrible especially the flatbread and Churros, they were not edible
I fully appreciate how BCV sources their local meats and produce!
the food is great. a great place. wished i lived in Portland to frequent this place often.
The bar service was great. We had the Chef Special menu, which was a nice way to taste our way through the menu for a great value. We weren’t crazy about a couple of the dishes, but overall it was a nice meal, with great cocktails and a romantic ambiance.
Delicious food, great G&T, good service. Really enjoyed our dinner.
As always, great food and service. One of our favorites.
This was one of the worst dinners I have ever had in Portland. First, the room was freezing, so we sat in the outside (thought tented) patio that had heaters and a pit fire. It alternated between too hot and too cold when the wind blew. Then the food and service was just as bad. We had the special, which was supposed to be what people in Madrid eat on a cold winter night. Seemed appropriate. It turned out the broth was cold and so were the various meats that were supposed to be either dipped or added to the broth. It was hard to figure out what to do with the various elements of the dish.
Creative, flavorful, varied menu. Everything was delicious!
Great food, friendly staff.
Only negative was I felt the seasonal/ monthly stew special was delicious but overpriced at $35+ for a cereal bowl portion.
We'll be back for the smaller plates.
Server forgot to ask me what I wanted for the main cause. Served my partner the main course when I
placed my order. Waited another 20 minutes and finally cancel the order. Not a good experience.
Meal was hit and miss, some plates were very good and a couple were terrible. Service was expedient and cordial. I would go back but maybe not for a full dinner, definitely got much more of a happy hour/cocktails and snacks vibe from it for the future.
We came here for a triple date before a Blazer game last weekend and loved it! Between the six of us, we tried nearly half of the items on the menu. From the freshly shaved aged iberico, hamachi crudo, and papas fritas to the fried chicken skewers, gambas and churros - almost everything was perfection. I would give the food 5 stars but the paella was not very good, it was a bit watery and difficult to eat. I would not order the paella here again - which is a bummer since it's my favorite classic Spanish dish. All that said, I will definitely come back for a solo date night with my hubs as the atmosphere is laid back and romantic.
Great time! Staff was so friendly and the food is amazing!
We love Donnie
Had a wonderful time here on New Year’s Eve after heading for dinner. Was a wonderful place to ring in the new uear.
I need to remember not to go out on holidays. The New Year's Eve menu was a truncated version of the normal menu (and they were out of 2 of the small list of options by 8pm) or a prix fixe menu which was spendy. I should have called about that, so not really the restaurant's fault, but that kind of thing is also never on OpenTable so I forgot about it. The food took seriously forever to come out, the service was really spotty (took a long time to get my second drink even ordered, let alone delivered) and one of the things I ordered never came (it also wasn't on the bill so it must have not been even ordered). I really love this bar, and have had some delightful, delicious dining experiences there, but this was not the best. I'll go back on another non-holiday.
We had an exceptional evening. All of your service was amazing, but in particular, Daniel and Emily were outstanding both with their knowledge of the food and their generous and genuine service.
We ate several seafood/fish dishes and all were cooked to perfection!
Love to see the chef’s tasting meal available; we have enjoyed several experiences while traveling in Europe and always look for them here in the states. This chef did not disappoint; we Loved It!
