Bar Boulud is Chef Daniel Boulud’s bistro and wine bar located across from New York City's Lincoln Center. An exquisite array of housemade charcuterie complements sumptuous French cooking for both lunch and dinner. Bar Boulud offers a 3 course price fixe for lunch for $29 and dinner for $48. Outdoor dining is available on the terrace seasonally. Three private wine-themed dining rooms adjacent to the wine cellar are also available for private events.

Best decision for pre Ballet dining! The location is right across the street from the subway station and David H Koch Theatre so it's perfect. The food and drink was divine; Escargot was perfect, including the texture, I ordered the Duck a L'Orange to be prepared well done, and the "well done-ness" was en pointe. I wanted a good stiff drink and found perfection with the Vieux Carre which consists of Cognac, Rye Whisky and Sweet Vermouth. My friend and I visited NYC to pre celebrate our 40th Bdays and the meal at Bar Boulud followed by the Ballet was one of our special evenings. I told the staff this when I called to check on our reservation and were surprised with a complimentary dessert each, with a candle and a Happy Birthday wish! Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. Well done to all, and a giant Thank You for an evening to cherish!

The Restaurant Week menu was imaginative and top-notch. Genuinely French and a good value.
However, the noise was so overwhelming that my husband refuses to go back again for dinner.
Maybe midday is quieter than Friday night after 8? We can't recommend to friends because most of our friends like to be able to talk to each other (not scream at each other).

Soup/salad was excellent;however, the main course and dessert were underwhelming.
Service by waitress seemed more abrupt than welcoming. They kept on pushing wine not on the wine list that they slyly did not mention the price was $25 glass...at least a third more than the highest price wine by the glass on the menu. This seemed deceptive. Buyer beware

The food and service were excellent! Even though we were "fine dining" in a sense (during restaurant week), the portions were sizeable! I'm vegetarian and my companion is gluten-free and the restaurant accommodated all our needs.

This restaurant is not the expensive fine dining experience you might expect from the name Boulud. It fits the niche for simple bistrot food at a more approachable price. We were four for dinner on restaurant week and had a reasonably acceptable meal. The place is crowded with booths and tables very close together. It is also loud. The least expensive red wine on the list was good at $45. We were very disappointed with the food. The salad was way overdressed and the fish entre, though not bad, was less than pristine. We did not like the deserts we had (a lemon curd with a rock hard meringue, and chocolate cake that was not a cake at all. The restaurant 3 course menu cost $42 per person.
