Still a great place to grab a bite before a show at Lincoln center but the service is slow. We had to wait for food and then rush through with no time for dessert or coffee. Menu choices for brunch border on the heavy French side as to be expected but the quality of everything is excellent, from the bread in the baguette to the fresh cream served with pancakes. Service needs to be sped up so the experience is enjoyable
Magnifique in every way! Best omelette! And mini Madelines that melt in your mouth!
Fantastic brunch- poached eggs and duck confit. Would have been better without hollandaise sauce (gilding thé lily) but delicious all the same!
Food arrived 1 hr after ordered on a theatre night.
No explanation or apology except by Mgr as we were leaving
It is very annoying to book a table at 11pm and then be reminded by phone, then when checking in and then again by the waiter that the kitchen closes at 11pm, please...
My go-to restaurant because I can count on good food, nice ambiance, pleasant service in a not-too-noisy convenient place.Thanks.
This is a great restaurant and part of a terrific group of restaurants. Everything was fantastic. Pate, cheese, meats. I had the chicken -- it was incredibly moist and the skin was perfect. Best of all -- Maddelines :)
The food was not as good as we remembered and the staff seemed a bit annoyed with our late reservation.
Expensive but superb food
Good and reliable. Some very decent bottles of wine available without breaking the bank. Quite noisy and always bustling. The service is friendly and efficient. Good for the Lincoln Center area.
Very nice dining experience despite the loudness of “everyone else having a good time!” 😏 Delicious meals (although my son had 2 small sized waffles...barely enough to satisfy him...3-4 would’ve been better! Two would’ve been perfect for my 8 year old granddaughter!)
All in all, it was an enjoyable brunch before our afternoon opera at the MET! We will be back to try other meal options. It’s a little expensive but worth the convenience to the MET! They did surprise us with a free dessert and champagne 🍾🥂 just before we were ready to leave for the show! Hahaha! (It was to help celebrate my daughters birthday!) The waitstaff was incredibly professional, very friendly, and accommodating! Thank you!
Great food and great service!
Very professional and attentive service to a large table on a tight schedule without feeling rushed. Very fresh and tasty food - wonderful warm breads and pastries, perfectly poached eggs and nicely dressed salad greens. Gracious servers and manager went out of his way to accommodate the group’s varied needs. A top option in this neighborhood.
overall..ok..but lack of communication by the servers led to me leaving my dessert to go on the table
Wonderful food and service.
The chicken was very salty, sadly. Service exceptional and friendly as always. Christmas music kinda annoyingly bad.
Food was wonderful but more importantly, you could hear. Much better acoustics than most NYC restuarants.
I would recommend this restaurant but also to be aware that there are some dishes that may seem different for those not from the city. We all liked our food but but felt that the appetizers were so much better. The small pate plate was very, very good. The 3 cheese plate was also very good. And the bread!!! It was very, very good - exactly what you would expect from this type of restaurant. In fact, most of our party indicated that they should have only had appetizers and skipped the main meal. We did not try desserts so cannot comment.
I love coming here before the ballet. The menu is quite varied. We had a tasty quiche, delicious vanilla brioche french toast, and ricotta pancakes A wonderful city brunch.
Their service is impeccable!
A table of 5 required one guest to sit on the outside of the table, with the leg in the center of legs and on the isle. some what uncomfortable and crowded.
I’ve come here twice now and have had an excellent time both times! The service is great and the food is delicious!
Excellence food. The stay was friendly and accommodated my need for a quiet table.
The place is very nice, across from Lincoln center. The food was good.
We came here for Thanksgiving prefix. Food was good and so was the service also it was a reasonable price. Would come again! Dessert could have been better.
Overpriced thanksgiving menu. Food was mediocre and service was quick but a bit pushy to turn over the table.
Excellent service. Got my appetizer within 5 minutes of placing my order, and the main course within 20 minutes. Was out of there within an hour!
Super food, great service ...noise can be better. Thanksgiving lunch was offered with great dedication.
Went there for Thanksgiving dinner. Food was good and service was excellent. Not too pushy, but still very attentive.
Was a very good night. The food was excellent. Service was a little slow but picked up once the theatre crowd left. Was very noisy so hard to have a conversation with our guests.
Good food and wine selection.
Service is ok, but room for improvement.
Some dishes are expensive other priced right.
Great fries and Madeline.
We had the express lunch, which is a great deal. A delicious salad to start, then their outstanding coq au vin sandwich, and a brownie for chocolate lovers. Service was quick and cordial. no complaints.
We love the simplicity of Bar Boulud - and the WONDERFUL food and the awesome wine list. Do look for the special bottle they open every night; it’s a chance to try some spectacular wines
The mussels weren't as good today, in terms of the sauce, and the pot seemed less full. It would be great if mussels could come with salad instead of fries. Thx!
As always, this is a splendid informal restaurant, with admirable cuisine and service. The menu options are varied and attractive. The selection of wines is exellent.
I used to have lunch at Bar boulud every time I would come to New York , just to get the pate en croute and the floating island.
Last time I was there at lunch the pate en croute was fabulous .
But , this time, it was like I would chew some card board.
The floating island was still good.
Service was just ok.
Since I was by myself , I got a table near the entrance, sitting next to a couple who had no idea , they were in a shared space and were talking so loud that they also contribute to this disastrous lunch.
I live in Bal Harbour Florida and I would wish that Boulud restaurant in Miami , could carry the pate en croute there also.
I am trying to find a whole pate en croute for Christmas.
Do you know where I could get one or have one shipped to me ?
The only thing I would recommend is that waiters be more attentive to empty water glasses.
This has become one of my favorite restaurants in the city. An always interesting menu, extraordinary service and really well prepared food I usually have a group of appetizers but this time elected to have the trout and it was superb.
Fine less formal smaller Boulud restaurant across from Lincoln Center. Great charcuterie and bread. Prix fixe has many good choices. Strong wine list. Daily special pour for wine by the glass. Eager to return. Reservations helpful.
Better alternative than The Smith next door! Crazy busy for brunch.
Excellent food. It took a little longer than the restaurant expected to get my food, so they comped my wine, which I very much appreciated. I had plenty of time before my matinee performance at Lincoln Center, so I didn’t mind at all. Service was friendly and stellar. Would definitely go again.
