Need to book at 10:30 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Love the attention to detail at all Bolud restaurants. Wine choices always excellent
An awkward entrance, uncomfortably overcrowded as we waited for our table to be readied, did not prevent us from enjoying a truly splendid meal.
Food was nothing great. Overpriced for the taste and quality. Go do brunch elsewhere.
We had a reservation yet were not seated for 20-30 minutes after the time that was confirmed. The hostess was rude and said everyone had to wait. The entire staff did not seem equipped to navigate the crowd. The noise level was ridiculous and it took way too long to have our wine served. We ordered the wine pairings yet the food for each course came without wine....we had to keep asking. Not a pleasant way to spend Valentine’s. Service outright sucked. Never wish to go back. It’s hard to believe this is owned by Daniel Boulud. Will never return.
Pricey but worth it foe a special treat. The Express Lunch was very good, three great courses.
I come here every nyc trip. Amazing food, ambience and value. Love it!
Dinner was delicious and our waiter, Dusan was outstanding!
Trending towards inconsistent cuisine. Highly variable. Service remains outstanding.
We arrived 10 minutes early and the hostess couldn’t find us a place to wait. She refused to ask other guests at the bar to move closer that we (2 people) would not have to stay on a side way. Then, our seating was delayed. The wait stuff did not care a bit to interrupt us any time he appeared at the table. Our dining took about 2 hours, at that time the place was pretty empty, the waiter just gave us our check. Based on that experience, the service itself takes a priority over the customers.
The duck wasn’t thrilling
Outstanding in every way..
$26 3 course special can’t be beat..better than Restaurant Week
tentive staff and great food. I love their restaurant week menu. So many tasty options! My boyfriend liked his truffled pork even though he couldn't taste the truffle. He loved the mashed potatoes that came with the dish. My salmon had nice crispy skin and was quite fresh. Our soup (french onion and Parisian mushroom soup) was tasty. The mushroom soup was quite filling and delicious. For dessert I had chocolate mousse which was made with dark chocolate. Quite smooth and airy. The mouse was topped with whipped cream. My boyfriend had the citrus tart which had great flavor but I thought it was a little too sweet. I recommend this restaurant.
3 daughters with our 97 year old mom after the ballet! She treated!
Delightful dining experience. The steak was perfectly done--crisp on the outside, but tender and juicy on the inside. And even the mushroom soup was impressive--very flavorful and airy.
We came after a Philarmonic concert—subscribers’ complimentary glass of wine was pretty uninteresting
BUT THE Restaurant Week menu was wonderful!!
We now miss the gougeres
Wonderful meal pre-opera! The service was excellent as well.
Food at Bar Boulud is incredibly good, reason why I visit this restaurant about once a month. This Saturday brunch was highlighted by the great service provided by Dusan; one to five, I give him a big 6. Thank you Dusan for making my brunch special.
My experience could had been unforgettable if the hostess would had use the empty back area more wisely, spreading people across instead of sitting us next to each other (making it imposible to talk to my date)...seriously, everything empty and she decides to sit people right next to one. I guess common sense is not that common.
Everything was excellent, except for the escargots. It tasted quite bland, as if it was poured out of a can. I would not have expected that at a Boulud restaurant. It was definitely not on par with the rest of our orders which, in contrast, were excellent. I regret that I did not ask for a replacement.
I adore Bar Boulud but have two suggestions:
1) change the menu once in a while. Cassoulet a great addition.
2) serve non- alcoholic wines. You have non-a beer but no wine. It's coming in fast.
A delight evening, after the ballet. The restaurant week menu was a delight!
Delicious food, the value was amazing, and staff was friendly and helpful for my birthday.
Had a wonderful birthday dinner! It was very loud, but such a wonderful meal!
I have wanted to go to Bar Boulud with my husband for awhile. We chose tonight and Restaurant Week but I am not sure the restaurant was properly prepared for Restaurant Week. We had a table by the front that we had to squeeze into to be seated and it took 15 minutes to for our order to be taken. I understand that it was busy but it felt like they shoved extra tables in and it was quite uncomfortable. The food was excellent but just wasn't a fan of the seating (the chairs were really uncomfortable) or the service.
I ACCIDENTALLY made my reservation for the wrong day, the host was more then accommodating and found us table. My mother uses a walker and we were easily able to navigate our way to the table towards the back of the dinning room. The host effortlessly stored her walker and upon our departure it magically reappeared. I could not have been happier with my food. We dine here only during restaurant week and I can honestly say this was quality food very well prepared. I have recommend it to my friends and colleagues as the best restaurant week menu available in NYC.
A lovely lunch in a relatively quiet spot, which I had requested, and for which I was grateful. My lunch companion and I ate from the Restaurant Week menu. We had salad and and pate. Both were delcious, the salad fresh and crisp and tasty, the pate just an excellent one. We both had salmon, which was cooked beautifully and flaked to a touch of the fork in a very satisfactory fashion. Altogether at very satisfactory experience.
Not as good as before
Fantastic restaurant week experience!
Great meal and service. Never dissapoints
Met friends for dinner after many movie. Thought Monday would be quieter since most of Lincoln center is dark but it filled up pretty quickly. We all had the restaurant week menu and it was delicious. Onion soup a bit salty but the duck, coq au vin and salads nicoise were all excellent as were the lemon tart and chocolate mouse. I am not usually fond of restaurant week meals but these were terrific.
Good food, good service, good location--keep up the good work.
Amazing food, exceptional service. One of the best restaurants in NYC! Desserts!!
Fantastic cassoulet and steak frite! A lovely spot and a great meal.
Fantastic food and service. Beautifully plated. Even the coffee was fantastic.
We dined here for a pre-opera dinner and had a great time. Everyone was attentive and friendly. We dined, accidentally, during restaurant week and did not feel limited by the restaurant week menu. It was a great value. We enjoyed the escargot and Parisian mushroom soup, which they kindly split between the two of us without us asking- see, attentive! We also enjoyed the cassoulet which was rich warm and comforting as well as the moules marinières which were sweet and soft. I can see the cost outweighing the value of the food outside of restaurant week at Bar Boulud since this is chef Bouluds more casual concept.
A popular spot with decent, though not exceptional, French food. High prices, especially for wine. There is nothing to absorb sound, and the din makes conversation nearly impossible. Boulud can do better.
We've been there a few times. This time, food very good but service somewhat lacking. Order was incorrect (ordered ham and cheese omelet, received herb omelet), service somewhat slow, but it was a very busy time, brunch at 11:30 a.m. on a Saturday. I probably would return, though there are many other good restaurants in the area.
Pure excellence and I am picky. The Cod was the best perfectly cooked - the sauce excellent and flavorful. Down to earth atmosphere and ppl of all ages and backgrounds. You are treated like a rock star from the moment you walk in the door. Come as you are no pretense. Sleek design.
This was a return visit because we liked it so much last summer. It was terrific all over again.
I'd never eaten here before and the food was outstanding. I'm definetely going back. I had the kale salad and the salmon and both were delicious and the portions generous. I arrived early and it was pretty empty. The waitress gave me honest feedback and I went with her 1st course recommendation. She never came back to the table after she took the order. When you're dining alone it's especially nice to have your waitress ask how its going . Her support staff picked up the slack --they were terrific. My water glass was never empty. If you haven't dined her try it. The food is worth it.
