Came with my sweetheart for a late lunch after a stressful appointment and what a tonic it was. Looking forward to the Frenchie Burger and lo, it was on the restaurant week menu. In trencherman mode, I had that and a slice of pate. Two dishes and two $10 glasses of a just right Malbec, and life is good. The Frenchie must be a custom blend of various rich cuts of meat, served on a brioche like bun, topped with a glorious cheese and lardon, each delicious bite brims with richness. Order it medium so there’s a bit of crust and the large accompanying cone of French fries crispy and you will be happy too. The Frenchie is easily the best burger in town, better than Minerva Tavern or any of the other more ballyhooed cheffie patties
All hail Bar Boulud for always coming through.
The Sunday brunch menu offers many choices at reasonable prices. The service was excellent.
The service was outstanding as was the food! Great place pre or post theater.
Going back soon .
Very disappointing meal. Awful table. Horribly noisy. Lackluster service. Unexceptional food.
The menu is diverse, food very well prepared and always interesting. Service is professional and also pleasant and prompt.
Delicious and elegant!
The servers were truly lovely.
The food, of course, was delicious, particularly the salmon, the salad, nd the sorbet.
Bar Boulud is m,y favorite West Side restaurant--and of my many guests. The menu is just what one wants
Good and service was very good
Most enjoyable lunch with friends
Bar Boulud never disappoints. It is my standby for many years in Lincoln Center area.
Flawless experience. Amazing food. Every bite was an explosion in your mouth. Amazing service. Great wine. NYC Restaurant Week is the best!
Great for a pre Lincoln Theatre Dinner. They have streamlined high end quality service to guarantee an enjoyable meal in the time you have allotted before the show. Gracious staff from the minute you walk in to the minute you leave.
Despite a busy pre-theater crowd, the service was excellent and the food superb.
Food was excellent, as was service, even at a busy time, prior to performances at Lincoln Center. The $60 prix fixe is a really good value. They also were very good in accomodating my wife's gluten and dairy allergies.
Always on point, great service & well executed food!
Wonderful atmosphere and delicious food... an overall enjoyable dining experience
You won't go wrong dining at any of Daniel Boulud's restaurants. Had the express lunch- mushroom soup, cassoulet and brownies to eat there or take home. $25!
Delicious! Service always pleasant and professional.
We had lunch after concert at Lincoln Center. Very convenient.
Onion soup was good but escargot was just ok. Something missing in sauce.
Entrees were good not great.
Not an economy meal.
The moules were not properly done, which was unlike the restaurant. They graciously did not charge for the mistake and gave us a free dessert, so we were pleased with Bar Boulud's response. We have eaten there a number of times and this was the first mishap.
We had a very good dinner at Bar Boulud after the theater. I had the Coq au Vin, which is always delicious there. One friend had the steak tartare and another had the soup followed by one of the appetizers. Our reservation was at 10:30 at night, so we didn't want to overdo the food. We did enjoy sharing a profiterole, however. It was excellent.
Brought a dear friend for dinner. She LOVES French and was thrilled by quality and taste of everything we ate. It was her first time dining there and she will be back with her husband. I will return also. Totally delicious and authentic. When we first arrived, it was a little noisy, but as the theater crowd left, we had a little more quiet time. Excellent. I look forward to the next time!
We had eaten at Bar Boulud with friends a week ago and since we enjoyed the food and the experience returned a week later when we were back in the area. Our expectations were more than met: another solicitous waiter, well prepared dishes and a conscientious support staff. We again enjoyed our meal, looking forward to the next time we go to Lincoln Center when we will certainly return!
It's a joy to dine when the food is the focus - every bite was delicious, and there was none of the stuffiness and self-importance that can be part of the overtly "fine dining" experience. I was here years ago when I was in New York to attend an opera - and it is every bit as wonderful as I remembered.
Disappointing lunch. Although the menu choices offer good variety, the quality of the food and the presentation was not what it is at dinner. Smoked-salmon club sandwich on tired bread, with surprisingly bland salmon and dressing, accompanied by soggy potato chips. A similar salmon lunch at Pain Quotidien the same week arrived with fresh bread, herbed cream, and delicately flavored fish.
Chosen mainly for convenience given location across from Lincoln Center, I've enjoyed both visits to Bar Boulud. Service was excellent, the food was just fine (we ate modestly both times, salads, omelettes, etc.), and the noise level and ambiance were perfect for talking with friends. I had perfect devilled eggs and a kale and quinoa salad that sparkled with a variety of tastes the last visit.
Bar Boulud is consistently good, and offers plenty of good values.
3 out of 4 main dishes left a lot to be desired. None of them - hamburger, bouden noir, moules/frites had any real flavor. My moules tasted as if they were cooked in dish water. It was as if they left out ALL spices & garlic. We were very disappointed.
My favorite restaurant for lunch or dinner before Lincoln Center. Always a wonderful experience.
Our server Javier was amazing! Food was excellent!
Not cheap, but not Big Expensive either. Service was efficient and personable, nice combination. The room is pretty in a modernist sort of way. Food: excellent; menu is interesting enough without being arcane. This is not an off-hand before/after Theater quick meal place; but for a serious meal in that context, it's a fine choice.
We had brunch.
The quality of food at Bar Boulud has unfortunately declined quite a deal. At least for brunch/lunch. For $200 (no alcohol or dessert in this price) our party of 3 were a bit stunned.
Cheese board was composed of very hard rind-end pieces. Fois gras terrine was mostly country pate, and our meals were quite obviously made and re heated.
Staff are as always kind and attentive. But will not be back due to decline in quality.
Thank you for the great complimentary dessert!!
We really enjoyed it!!
Thanks again for the excellent food and service!!!
See you soon...
Great service, food was exceptional!
Two couples had a delightful dinner, pre-opera at Lincoln Center across the street.
Have been to Bar Boulud practically since it opened, and often, because it is a favorite.
This was the worst time we have ever been. When I reserved the table, I asked for a table at the rear near the rest room. We were on time, but they told us there were no tables and could not say how long we would wait. Instead, we got a two-table immediately beside the kiosk.
The noise was deafening THROUGHOUT our meal. We waited long enough before our cocktails that Andrew wondered if I thought they had forgot. When they finally came, we waited long enough that Andrew wondered whether they forgot our appetizers too. Meanwhile the APPALLING noise level continued. Then, after the table was cleared, we waited once again long enough for me to comment that we were once again experiencing "the dessert gap" which we routinely experience elsewhere but not at Bar Boulud until tonight.
It wasn't a TOTAL disaster - the food was ok, and I even managed to hobble down the stairs to the rest room (clutching the handrail the whole time) without stumbling. And despite the delays we did make it the the concert with 15 minutes to spare.
But this was not what we have ever experienced before at Bar Boulud, and if this had been our first time here we would never return.
Perfect, as always!
We had a reservation but were able to sit at the bar. The bartender was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The drinks were delicious and so was the dinner. My husband started with the french onion soup, and then the Salmon. I had the tarte flambé followed by the coc co vin., which was excellent. Looking forward to dining there again.
Wonderful brunch - the smoked salmon benedict were pertfectly cooked, the smoked salmon nicely smoked and the hollandaise was classic french!
Superb experience! We were seated earlier than expected, outstanding wait staff promptly took our order and even provided complimentary dessert substitute when one of our choices didn’t meet our dietary requirements. Needless to say, food was delicious!
