Went twice. Great both times. Plates a bit small.
A few of my friends had suggested I went to Bar Bombon for dinner. I want to state that I am not a vgan, but I appreciate vegan food. I have been their for breakfast, and it was fabulous. However, from a food perspective, it was just average. We ordered 1 of everything off of the happy hour menu. The only really "great" items were the tacos and empanadas. Everything else was just so-so, or bland. The "ceviche," shouldn't even be called a ceviche, maybe more of a mixed fruit / veggie salsa. However, the service was fabulous. Our waitress was awesome, informative, and on top of everything we requested. Additionaly, the atmosphere was beautiful - small, but great boutique decor and who doesn't love booth seating! The overall location was great as well, we were on our way to see a show at the Academy of music.
Very accommodating got gluten free diet; delicious food and drink; good service
The service was absolutely wonderful. Friendly staff and they made sure we were satisfied with everything. The food was great! Even if you are not vegan you will be satisfied.
Excellent service , excellent food. Great atmosphere , wonderful appetizers
I have been here multiple times- creative cocktails and great vegan food. Can get a little noisy when busy.
Excellent Vegan Food! Tacos are the best....all options are plant based.
The food is just amazing - I mentioned my allergies in the reservation notes and they were able to accommodate them without issue. I always appreciate when a place reads the notes and is prepared !
Good food and good service! The empanadas were especially good and so was my iced latte with oat milk.
Great vegan fare! Brunch is always a hit with me and my friends!
Our first experience at Bar Bombon was a good one. We had a reservation and had to wait a little but they took care of us. All the food was very delicious but I'd like to see more vegetables and less fake meat. Whole food plant based eaters are all about the healthy aspects of eating vegan and that falls short when things are fried or faked out. I will definitely go back but make sure to be picky about my menu choices. The La Preferida magarita was delicious with the spicy kick to it.
I love this place! I've taken the train from NYC to Philly just for the vegan tacos.
The food was very ordinary. I had the Latin chop salad which wasn’t a chopped salad at all, but almost entirely romaine lettuce with a small amount of the other ingredients. The corn didn’t taste or look grilled as described in the menu. And the dressing, which should have been the highlight was nothing special. Very boring. Atmosphere was really nice as was the service but not enough to make up for meh food.
Outstanding. You wouldn’t even know it was vegan. And the cauliflower tacos are to die for. Yumm.
Great atmosphere, very polite and attentive wait staff, plus the food was incredible!!
This place is great for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores. Although we are both vegetarians, my friend only stopped eating meat recently. He raved over the "beef" in his taco, saying how much it tasted like meat. I had the buffalo cauliflower taco and it was delicious. I liked it because it was lightly spiced, but people who like things really spicy might find it a bit bland. We also had the plantains, which were fabulous. Portions were just the right size and quite filling. In fact we were too full for dessert. However, the Mexican hot chocolate was really good. I had never had oat milk before and it was very tasty. I particularly liked the lively atmosphere and spare but fun decor. I've eaten at a number of plant-based restaurants and this is the best one I've been to. Place gives off a wonderful vibe, I highly recommend it!
Food was amazing, we got tacos, guac, ceviche, caesar salad. all super good. waiter was very nice and professional. overall great experience. will def be back.
Always get plant based food! Love the drinks as well
Food is great and the happy hour is a fantastic deal!
What a surprise to find this unique restaurant. Inventive dishes with amazing flavors. Definitely give it a try.
Easily the best option combining vegan food with caribbean and latinamerican food. The place feels a little cramped at times and it's very hard to have a conversation without shouting. The music could improve a lot, it often interweaves very upbeat merengue (definitely not for a restaurant/lounge environment) with soft boleros.
The food is top notch, but some of the options are overpriced.
Absolutely love the buffalo cauliflower tacos, nachos, blackened tacos, yucca fries, etc. Just wondering how much begging might be required to bring back the street corn and brussel sprouts?
The staff was amazing. Chef even went the extra mile and catered to my dietary restrictions. I’m longing for my next experience!
Food was small portions impossible to order one entree and be full.
Food was excelent as well as the service! Recommend the Cuban sandwich and for dessert, the tres de leche cake.
Was expecting food more traditional to the Puerto Rican style. Too many vegan meats on the menu. Drinks were outstanding though!
Delightful cafe for vegan mexican cusine. guacamole really delish. Cuban excellent. Desserts yummy. Music a bit too loud considering there were only a few patons during lunch last Wednesday.
The food and margs were really good! The service was pretty slow and they weren’t super busy which was frustrating, but the food did make up for it.
Love Bar Bombon. This visit was the first since maybe 6 months. Menu had changed obviously, however, was sad to see the Cubano had been downsized to a slider. The taste also seemed to be lacking from what we remembered. However, our other choices did not disappoint. Buffalo cauliflower tacos were fantastic as always. Tried empanadas and the traditional tacos for the first time and they both were amazing.
Had an issue with service which had always been consistently superb. Wait times was too long and overall hospitality was lacking to the point where it was greatly impacting the dining experience. However, the manager on duty promptly addressed, the issue and really recovered the night. We will continue to frequent the restaurant and appreciate the commitment to the guest experience that the manager displayed tonight.
Food was excellent, but you need more than good food to make it in Philadelphia. The service was very poor. We went on a Sunday night and the restaurant was pretty empty, we still waited 15 minutes to get seated, and another 15 to get water. We received our food before our drinks and we had gotten appetizers and entrees, which all came out at the same time.
The food here is fantastic. Also, the staff is amazing, kind, and knowledgeable.
All the food was great but standouts for me were the empanadas, buffalo cauliflower tacos and harvest guac. Highly recommend this place. As an omnivore, I was very impressed that an all vegan place could catch my attention like this!
I really enjoyed this place, but I also understand why it might not be for everyone. It is very close quarters and the tables are pushed very close together. It was very difficult for me to slide into my table without hitting the people next to me. The food was very good, especially the Cuban sandwich and the buffalo cauliflower tacos. I also recommend the tomatilla cocktail with tequila. However, since it is such a small space and there are a lot of tables in there, it gets noisy very fast, especially if families come in with babies and toddlers.
Delicious food, welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth repeating.
Excellent service, menu, drinks, and atmosphere.
Great! Plant based deliciousness!
Love tapas and sharing. If you don't then restaurants like this aren't fun for you. We were a party of 3. One of us vegan. We enjoyed everything we ate : ceviche, empanadas (didn't like the ketchup as a condiment) tostados, cauliflower tacos, beans and yummy coconut rice. Too full for dessert.
Incredible plates from the buffalo cauliflower tacos to the tres leches desert!
My second time here and it was just as good as the first. This time it was for brunch. The food is so unique and flavorful. One negative comment: the coffee was horrible. They need to fix that. Absolutely on my "go-to" list.
Used to like this place a lot more, feels like their service has slipped a bit. Menu used to change more often as well. And what’s with the Terra chips in with the Tortilla chips? I can get that at the grocery store, was hoping for at least an attempt at authenticity. Perhaps it’s just the couldn’t care less attitude their staff has these days? It’s a shame.
