Great food! Tasty menu. Our waiter was awesome and so helpful. The service was great! Our waters were never empty. We regret not trying this place out sooner as we are nearby but did not hear much about it. It’s unsuspecting and sneaky good! Will be back to try the other menu items.
First time at this establishment. Invited by a mutual friend. He told me that Bar Bao really parties on Saturday's. It was nothing short of the truth. I recommend Bar Bao any given Saturday! I will be back soon.
Great for a work group
Buena variedad y buenos precios
Good food service and drinks
We specifically went for the bottomless brunch, so our table of 6 practically tried everything on the menu. The pork belly bao and calamari were standout winners. Well that and the 99 cent mimosas. A lot was good. Some was meh. Overall too much creamy sauce put on top of food that would have already tasted delicious on its own (smoked salmon benedict drowning in hollandaise, seaweed salad that was better without the sauce and cheesesteak bao that sauce detracted from what was probably tasty but couldn't tell because it was overwhelmed by sauce). The service was really great, they checked in on us multiple times, made good recommendations, and made sure we could just talk and enjoy ourselves while they offered to select most of the orders. Have been there twice for brunch and both times was surprised that only a few other tables were taken. Guess must be more of a night spot.
Went there for brunch. I like the atmosphere but the food was just ok. Our server (Sara) was nice but she was forgetful on a few things.
Good place for happy hour. It's really a bar now than a restaurant. Sushi Special on Wednesdays and good happy hour prices everyday. Don't expect great restaurant service but what you might get at a typical Bart.
stopped in for their lunch special bento box for $15 every day for lunch, it was great you get to choose from several dumplings and sushi rolls. We will be back next Wed for their half price sushi special!
There was literally no one else in the restaurant and our food took over 20 minutes to come out. The server had told us our baos would come out quickly then went to sit in the corner to stare at his phone. I had to literally get his attention and he tried to compensate with sake shots for the table. I'm not sure who else the kitchen possibly could've been cooking for but the food took way too long. Food was not worth the price and the wait. Thanks, but no thanks.
Awesome spot! We’re very happy to come across Bar Bao. Not for people looking for a quiet atmosphere. It was lively. The service was excellent. The food was really good! We look forward to going back! Thanks
We arrived for our reservation and opted to sit outside for our meal. There were lots of high top tables available and outside was self seating. The food was delicious but it took nearly an hour for an food to arrive. We ordered an appetizer, but it was brought out with the dinner portion (not requested). Our server seemed interested in flirting with other patrons rather than inquiring about our needs. We had to flag down another server to refill our drinks. At no time did our server check on us while we were waiting for our food or apologize for the delay. The two top table next to us, which was seated at least 15 minutes after us received all their food (which most of it the same menu items) before us. Our food arrived after we sought out the server to inquire about our meal and came out in various intervals. Was disappointed with the overall experience and will probably not go back.
Probably a great spot at night as a bar but underwhelming as a restaurant for brunch.
Summary: Food was tasty but portions were extremely small for the price.
Food: I ordered three of the Bao buns (JFC, short rib, and braised pork belly). They were tasty, but very small—you could eat each bun in about one bite. My friend ordered an entree (the sesame poke bowl), and she liked it, but that looked like a small portion too.
Service: Our server was polite and friendly. We would have liked it if she had stopped by our table a little more often, though.
Ambience: I don’t recommend going during trivia if you want to be able to hear your companion(s).
Value: Not a good value. Unless you’re OK with spending a lot of money, don’t expect to get enough to eat.
the food really was not very good, the menu was obviously set up for a bottomless meal which my friend and i were not looking for, but the service was good. I definitely thought 2 of the 4 small plates i ordered were not fresh / kind of cold.
Really enjoyed the food and great service!
Great food & service! Will be back for the wings and dim sum :)
Bao Bar used to be great now the food is terrible, no wonder it was empty during a weekend brunch!
Food was a solid B. Overall experience was good. Would return but not in a hurry.
I used to love Bar Bao, esp the Hangover Soup. This time, we had someone with a soy allergy and we were very careful in specifying with the waiter. The food arrived, served by someone else, and no one said that it had soy in it. It caused a significant problem for our guest.
My salad was overdressed and the dressing was too sweet. The service was not attentive and the number of different people supporting our table, but not being the official waiter, made things disjointed in our communications.
I would no longer recommend.
Super friendly. Food was good. Drinks were quite interesting.
Definitely recommend the tuna poke nachos. The shrimp bao bun was good as were the fried pork dumplings. The fried rice was ok. Service could have been better, the waiter left us alone for longer than necessary (we could have ordered at least another two drinks but didn’t have the chance) and it took awhile to get and pay the check. The space is pretty cool and it seems like it turns into a club type atmosphere after 8.
Excellent food and good cocktails, service is decent
It wasnt bad, but I've definitely had better. I miss Ping Pong
The food and service were wonderful! I would suggest any of the baos, as they were all delicious. The mochi paradise cocktail was also amazing! I wish the restaurant was a little more busy that night, it was pretty quiet for what seems like the vibe of a leveled-up sports bar.
Rob was a great server. Second time there I haven been disappointed. Great bottomless brunch.
Food was good, but I wasn’t amazed. Also the whole table’s bao buns came out mixed into different trays, so it was a little confusing trying to locate your order across the trays
Some of the food was overcooked, but overall the bottomless brunch was good.
Very disappointing! The food was mediocre, except for the shu mai. They were out of the wine we ordered and out of the barbecubed pork buns. The other food that we got was not great...won’t go back!
Excellent food in a friendly atmosphere. We joined friends outside and had a lovely time sharing plates. Enjoyed every single dish we ordered. Our waitress Amelia was attentive and cordial. Will definitely be returning.
Got Three Bao Buns which were about ~$12, I don't eat much so most would probably prefer 4. Very good, very small though. Good spice level and most vegetarians would find the selection decent. The menu is a asian fusion mix, with about 10 or so Bao selections. Good happy hour selection with a nice sport bar ish setup outdoors. Def recommend.
Waitress was incredibly inattentive. It was more than 30 minutes before we had anything but water on our table. Also, the bill came back screwed up. Considering the restaurant was not busy, there could not have been an excuse for such terrible service.
Sunday brunch with a friend and my husband food and service were amazing! Peanut butter- Nutella French toast is out of this works and a must have!!!
Great food. Was loud so not good if you're looking for somewhere quiet.
Food was great, staff was super friendly, and dishes with nuts were clearly marked. The shrimp bun was my favorite, though I did expect it to be more spicy than it was. The spicy chicken bun was a close second, and the tuna poke wonton nachos were delightful. The wonton was crisp and airy, the tuna was fresh, and the veggies were perfect.
We tried this on a whim! It was delicious and great happy hour prices!
Food was incredible!!!!!
What a great spot! The tuna nachos are a must. The food came out timely and the service was on point !
This food is delicious! The brunch pho is amazing, as is the orange chicken and bao buns. So good!
Went here on date night and had such an amazing time. We really cannot stop talking about how much fun we had. Alex our server was so laid back and got us well fed and had good drink recommendations. The seating is curved so we were able to get silly and have a good time together. We don’t get to go out much so this was so awesome. We will definitely be back!!
