The food was delicious, drinks great and sitting out doors on the veranda on a warm spring night was just lovely.
Just went on a Friday evening and had a very good meal. Food was good - still love the tacos - but the food was slow to come out, especially for Tapas. The place had good energy but was loud. If you want conversation, I’d recommend eating on the patio.
Great place to sit outside with friends! Food was good, service great, ambiance, delightful. A little pricey for what we ordered.
The food was great service was awesome and I have this watermelon salad that was fantastic I would definitely go back and tell my friends.
This might be my new favorite restaurant in Atlanta. This margaritas were amazing, and fairly priced (as was everything). The mac and cheese tapas and goat cheese fritters were to die for, as were the pork carnita taco, grilled shrimp taco, tempura avocado taco and brisket taco. Will definitely be back a ton!
This was my first time and I will DEFINITELY come back. Parking was easy. Complimentary valet! Our waiter was great! Gave us good food and drink suggestions and checked on us just the right amount. The food came out hot and fresh. Best questions I’ve had! I had a sangria and a coconut margarita and they were both excellent! Excellent service, food, ambience. I throughly enjoyed my first experience!
Went on a Wednesday for dinner. Arrived with a short wait for an outside table so sat at the bar to have a drink beforehand. During our 20 min wait our drink was never made. We were seated outside and told our drinks would be ready shortly. After another 20 minutes, they finally arrived.
After the initial hiccup we were skeptical, but aside from slow drink service (I think there was only one bartender that night), the remainder of our evening was fantastic. We hope to go again and will give them another try.
Love the Menu. Something for everyone. The drink (Kevin Bacon) was glorious.
We loved it!!! Great food and great service! We will definitely go again!
Nice to have another terrific tapas/small plates go-to in town and Bar.bacoa spans beyond the traditional Latin offerings with the Korean BBQ tacos, crab cakes, and nice salad options. Have always like that elevated patio, too, snuggled up against La Tavola and Fontaine's outdoor diners.
In two trips, it’s clear the dishes are hit or miss with the kitchen. Same dish was good on one trip, not very good on the next. Service was poor both times. Why have a beer list if you don’t have many of the beers on it? And the server is clueless about what’s available and what’s not? Hello...86 board? There are better restaurants in the area. Won’t be back.
My family and friends went there to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. It was a good experience with food and energy levels. Their food and margaritas were really fresh and tasty. Very festive with colorful necklaces that they had for customers to wear. Overall great fun
The food was amazing, service was amazing, and most importantly the margaritas were also AMAZING!
Bar service was good, and James made me a delicious cocktail based on my desire for something new and refreshing - but when we went to our table, the service was lacking. Our server, and those delivering food were not friendly at all, and actually had scowls on their faces most of the evening. We arrived early, had drinks at the bar, then headed to over to be seated for our reservation - when we checked in to be seated, there was a wait for outside tables. Before we could say anything about our preference, the manager literally yelled across the restaurant that he had a group with a reservation waiting on the outside - even though their reservation was after ours, so rude. Food was just so, so... I will not be returning - too many other delicious tapas places with welcoming and friendly staff and much better food!
Second time we’ve been there and we loved it! Great food, service and atmosphere, highly recommend!
First time, will be back. Great food and margaritas!
Best Nacho's in Atlanta, great spot for Tapas and Drinks.
We love this place! They have upgraded the food and service since they new owners took over. Their special are truly amazing! We love to sit at the bar and get a great drink made by James, or sit on the patio and enjoy the outside.
Wonderful all around
Loved the drinks. Good food. Very attentive service. Dining area needs a little bit more ambiance. Candles on tables weren’t lit. Lights were pretty bright in the dining room, the music was a bit frantic sounding for my taste, just my opinion. I like relaxing tunes when I dine. Would like to return but would sit at the bar.
I have been going to Bar.bacoa since they opened. It's an amazing place to eat, it has ana amazing atmosphere, the wait staff and owners are amazing and we have never eaten anything there that wasnt delicious! My favorite dish is the pablano and corn empanadas. It's worth the time to go and sit and have a refreshing night out.
AWFUL on so many levels! When our drinks arrived, somebody other then our server slammed them on the table and and turned around and left. The squid was so over cooked I could have used it to make tires from, we ordered the “baked cauliflower” it is a head of cauliflower cut in half with friggin cheese baked on it! No seasoning nothing! Both my guest and I could not eat it. We told the server and he took it off our check. we ordered 2 other items that were so unmemorable I cannot comment.
If you want decent spectacular service head to the West Side and go to Cooks and Soldiers, as we should have done but wanted to try someplace different 🤮
Our waitress was AWESOME!!! Even the gentleman that sat us at our table was so inviting. It was our first time and we loved the food, the recommendations, and the drinks. My biggest critique of a restaurant is always the wait staff and their ability to recommend food. Our waitress did the best with recommending our choices and giving us her take on them. I am so grateful.. I honesty should have tipped her about 50%.. that’s how special she made the experience. The best part is, it seemed so effortless.
The food and margaritas were excellent! Such a great addition to the neighborhood. We’ll be back soon
Food was great and the service was awesome. I will be back. We enjoyed having Matt as our waiter. He was cool.
Average. Service was good. Food was okay. Nothing special.
Great new neighborhood restaurant! This was my second visit and I'll continue to go back since there are so many things on the menu I want to try. Great margaritas too! Make a reservation as walk-ins tend to have to wait.
Tacos were excellent..Needs improvement on the red sauce for the tortilla chips..Verde sauce was excellent but red sauce was cold and very bland.
Not impressed. Food was okay but there are other restaurants with the same food only better. Atmosphere felt dark and closed in.
New favorite taco place
Overall great experience. The host was super friendly and the back patio was great. We loved all of the apps and drinks we got. If I lived in ATL I would definitely be coming back
It may be because we came late (10:30pm reservation), but the server made no attempt to educate us on the food or make recommendations for new customers. This was my first and last time visiting. The food was very basic, and overdressed with what i call “garnishes” but the meat was not very flavorful. I tried 4 Tacos: 1 grouper, lobster, shrimp, chicken. The grouper, chicken were lacking flavor, shrimp was too salty and lobster was delicious but again overdressed with some random non-complementary cheese that tasted like mozzarella. They used FLOUR tortillas which is not authentic Mexican. If they had corn tortillas that was not communicated to us by our server. Me and my boyfriend were literally in AND out of the restaurant in a matter of 45 ministers or less. It’s the perfect food if your drunk and need to fill your belly to decrease the blood-alcohol level.
We had such a wonderful date night at Bar.bacoa. I was expecting to be nickeled and dimed with the tapas, but was so surprised by how little we spent even with two drinks each. Everything we had was delicious. We got queso (which was much bigger than I was expecting), Mexican street corn, shrimp taco, steak taco, and the ham mac'n'cheese. We were going to get the garlic shrimp but I was so full after the mac. We also got 2 margaritas each. There was no pressure to order everything at once which I loved. We ordered one thing at a time and had a slow dinner which was so nice. The atmosphere was very casual and we enjoyed sitting in the patio area. The inside area was very loud since the place is so open. The patio was a little quieter but since it's shared by all the other restaurants, you can still expect quite a bit of noise. Overall, fantastic dinner. We will definitely be back!
The menu is full of so many good bites! We love the Skillet Baked Queso, and the Chicken Tinga Empanadas are sinfully delicious. The Chicken Tortilla soup arrived in a bowl big enough to serve 2. It was thick, meaty and delicious. Thankfully, the prices are affordable enough to order many plates. We intend to keep coming back until we’ve tried them all!
Great food and service, music was too loud and there is a table that gets alley smoke.
Food is too big to be considered tapas but overall it's pretty good.
There are lots of great restaurants in Atlanta; unless you live in Virginia Highlands or a neighborhood nearby, don't bother. Bar.bacoa is not worthy of all the current hype. My margarita was tasty, and most of the food was good (except our paella, which was bland), but it was certainly NOT exceptional. Also, the service was so-so and the restaurant was quite loud despite our early (6:30 PM) reservation time.
Love the change to Bar Bacoa - excellent service, food and margaritas !!
