We enjoyed everything, from the small plates to start (the crispy sprouts and calamari) to the different pasta dishes each of us ordered. Portions are generous without overdoing it. We took some of the pasta home, which is great. The beer was good as well, a Belgian style wit with a sour taste. Service was good as well, very attentive. Best is that our server took our silverware away after the appetizers and brought clean forks and knives. Do you know how few restaurants do that these days? That makes a big difference. While we don’t have much reason to be in the navy yard regularly, I would welcome the chance to return. And to eat outside as well, good use of the umbrellas.
Would only recommend if you are going for drinks and bar snacks. My entree was inedible and my husband's food gave him intestinal upset. Service was inept and management really needs to visit to get this restaurant back on track. Great location and ambience. Sad that the kitchen and service staff are not up to par.
We come here regularly, and it's always good. I love the rotating salad choice, as well as the popcorn too. Bring back the BBQ popcorn!
Everything was perfect. Great atmosphere, laid back and comfortable...our server was wonderful and answered all our questions including recommendations to foods we asked about.. the food was delicious!! The manager Claire J. was amazing!! How often does the manager of a restaurant come around to check and see how everything’s going..? We will definitely be back
Great food! Great location. ..can uber to sporting events.
Relaxed atmosphere. Great service & food. Recommend the meatball sandwich.
We decided to try this restaurant based on our great experience at their location in Devon. However we were sadly disappointed. Best to go to Devon.
Amis was a nice dining place. Food and service hit the spot.
Will not be going back anytime soon. I have been there several times before and food and service was always friendly and delicious, however I always dined inside. This visit I brought my sister from Florida and since it was nice out we decided to sit outside. Well that’s about all we did. Ten minutes later no one ever acknowledged us even though there were several waitstaff walking around. There were only about 5 other tables so not overly busy either. If you go, food is typically very good but suggest inside for dinner as obviously waitstaff outside were too busy for us and we left disappointed.
Recommending because the food was excellent. The service was not rude but so inattentive it impacted our experience. Long periods of absence, despite the venue not being busy, limited alcohol consumption and we were not offered dessert. Appetizers were missing, and one of our guests was brought and an inedible pasta in plain olive oil instead of the spicy pistachio pasta dish ordered. Eventually corrected but after everyone else had completed the meal. I ordered herbal chamomile tea and was brought caffeinated English breakfast tea which kept me up all night. Despite writing a note on the back of our receipt, and to the restaurant, no response has been received. Based on this experience I’m not sure I would go back. On the plus side, the ambience is nice and the food, other than the plain pasta, was superior.
Nice place but the outdoor seating is on a first come basis. Lesson learned, get there a little earlier. Nice place with good food but the vibe is much better than inside seating. First time visit and we will return
Great location for pre-concert dinner. Pasta was not great - overly al dente rigatoni bolognese with very little bolognese. I'd try the restaurant again though.
I would recommend Bar Amis to a friend, with conditions.
The atmosphere is fun yet makes for a calmer pre-sports venue than Xfinity live. We went there prior to a show at the Wells Fargo Center and it was a great location. However, the food was just okay. My burger was way overcooked and the salads came out at the same time as the main course. Probably more of a casual, there for the drinks not dinner, kind of spot. That said, the service was great, the location is convenient and there is a great outdoor seating area that is probably a lot of fun in warmer weather.
Pre concert meal
Cool location. View of the Ship Basin. Food and service were good. I recommend.
This was a Pre-NBA basketball game dinner. My friend bought the tickets, and I bought the dinner. The craft beers were very good, the ambience was lively but not too loud, and the food was quite good. I had a salad and sandwich, my friend a gourmet burger. With drinks and appetizers and entrees the cost was just under $100. The place is very convenient to the sports complex as well. Parking lot was too small, that's about the only real complaint along with only average service. Since we weren't in a hurry it was not a problem.
Great lunch menu. We enjoyed the burgers and paninis. Upstairs dining room was full. A bit noisy for business conversation
Food was pretty good, but our waiter was quite disappointing.
Going away lunch for our intern at WuXi Apptec! Perfect place to eat healthy and say goodbye & best wishes!
A bit sub-par on this recent visit...
The place was super busy and the wait staff were hustling. Still only 3 of the ordered 4 starters came. The beer was extra cloudy. The bacon on the cheese burger was either overdone or underdone. The medium burger itself was well done (this place normally does excellent burgers). The cauliflower was overdone and lacked enough glaze. The sprouts resembled just a few leaves vs any actual meaty sprouts. Oh and the salmon was also overdone.
As a team celebratory lunch it was a bit of a disappointment. I got a $60 meal for $180 :-(
Lovely meal pre-concert! Will return!
Great food! Good selection of beer. Nice date spot.
Great casual place with high quality classic Italian fare. We will definitely come back.
Good location for Mariott hotel guests. Service was good. Bar was good. Food was average at best.
Love this place and the drinks are my favorite!!
Chris was a wonderful waiter to help us enjoy the experience of the restaurant
We were early and seeking to start the festivities a few hours before the stadium classic last weekend.. Good casual scene wig above average service and food and rink.
Shared some apps - real yummy. (Wasn’t picking up on and Vetri overlap or vibe it’s subtle I guess) - in all , we enjoyed!
This was a great place to meet my relative who was staying at an airport hotel. It was easy to get to, the parking was free, the food selection was good and the quality was wonderful. They also thought it would be a good place for a meal before or after their next Flyers game. This was a surprise find since I have read about the Navy Yard but never been there.
One of the best meals in a while. The chef is so creative and excellent and the service is unmatched. Great beer selection!!!!!!
Perfect place to go on a date before a game. 15 minute walk to stadiums. Food great. Atmosphere great. Staff great. Five stars.
Our first time here and can’t wait to go back! The bar area was great as was the upstairs dining. Servers were attentive and polite . Food was very good, especially the calamari and bolognese! Great experience overall plus free parking!! Bringing friends next time for sure!
Good location, good service. Nice atmosphere
Love this place!!
Jeff, Anwar, Angela, Christian - all the staff are great!
First floor was freezing, staff said always cold, nothing you can do. Seems odd..
Bartender mildly friendly. Seemed hard for him.
Below average experience.
All dishes very good- cocktails too. Great service with perfectly timed food delivery and check ins.
They executed on all points for us with this first visit- earned a next visit when back in the area.
Good food and convenient to stadiums but it was the drabest restaurant in Philadelphia. The interior upstairs was so dull that I felt like I was eating in a second grade public school classroom. Other than how disappointing the decor was, everything was great.
Great spot in South Philadelphia. Service was great, very attentive and friendly. Food was well prepared though steak was a little over cooked. Plenty of parking for those who want to venture out and not have to search for parking. Priced reasonably and portions were large.
appetizers and dinner were great. Nice wine and cocktails. looks like the outdoor dining would be a fun time in the warmer weather. convenient location to south philly and the stadiums and concert venues.
Service was good, happy hour prices were good, food was not good at all. Not disgusting but I could’ve whipped up some buttered noodles and it would’ve tasted better.
Love this place
Bartender knows how to make a drink!!
